At this point we’ve heard many in the fantasy community suggest their season is over if their records are subpar. This couldn’t be further from the truth as stringing together a few wins will get them right back into the playoff picture. Never give up hope and set those lineups as glory can be had on any given Sunday. Follow us as we look at the best to play and sit this week.

Ryan Tannehill (TEN)
For only the second time this season, we witnessed Ryan Tannehill score below the 20-point mark last week. Here we find a situation where he should be throwing more on a Bengals defense that gives up a lot in the pass game. With Joe Burrow on the other side slinging the ball in hopes to keep it close – Tannehill should see 20-points as his floor. Safe play here.
Its no secret that the Eagles have become difficult to trust this season in many respects, but this is the week to fire up all top end pieces on this offense. Facing the Cowboys who have literally packed it in and will have virtually no shot at winning this contest – Wentz could have his best day of the 2020 season. 30-points again isn’t out of the question.
Le’Veon Bell (KC)
There is nothing like a good old-fashioned revenge game to get the juices flowing for NFL players. Le’Veon Bell will be ready to stick it to his former club that basically erased his talent level and fantasy potential. Now with the Chiefs, this should be an explosion of sorts to how we remember this player in the past. There is some risk with Bell splitting carries, but should be a safe play overall.
Getting back on the wagon for the Buccaneers Leonard Fournette, he was able to put up good stats last week in his return to action. The Buccaneers will change their personal in the backfield on the regular for the remainder of the season, but this contest has Fournette written all over it. Even though Ronald Jones has looked sharp so far this season, we still believe that this back is the better player overall. The ability to catch the ball keeps him on the field of play.
Much like the Le’Veon Bell evaluation, here we find another revenge contest that should motivate Melvin Gordon. Going up against his former club in the Chargers, Gordon will want to prove his worth in that L.A. made a mistake to not pony up the dough. Gordon has been a steady earner so far this season and will likely find the endzone on a defense that has holes in defending the run.
Rashard Higgins (CLE)
With the Browns Rashard Higgins being a top waiver wire addition this week, we also can promote playing him in almost every situation. Facing the Raiders and what has been an up and down secondary – Higgins is still somewhat unknown on film from the starter perspective. The Browns will utilize Jarvis Landry and Kareem Hunt as the primary this week, but Higgins will have a very strong role. A touchdown should almost be a formality again here.
While the 49ers haven’t been that great in terms of passing offense, this is the week we witness rookie Brandon Aiyuk take the next step in his development. With Deebo Samuel on the shelf with yet another injury, the offense should manufacture a feature role for this natural playmaker. Coming off his best showing of his young career last week and facing a feeble Seahawks pass defense – we love the odds of a massive breakout.
Based solely on matchup, the Eagles Travis Fulgham is a true must start candidate this week as he could witness yet another mammoth performance. Rumor has it that Alshon Jeffery is nearing a return to the field, so that is a greater incentive for Fulgham to keep the points rolling in. Having developed a good chemistry with his quarterback and facing the Cowboys who can’t stop a cold – get ready for fireworks.
Richard Rodgers (PHI)
Keeping down the trend of playing the top Eagles offensive weapons, Richard Rodgers will have his chances to score points in bunches. Rodgers saw a healthy eight targets last week and will be a fixture in this offense once again against the meek Cowboys pass defense. Finding the endzone isn’t out of the question here.
Daniel Jones (NYG)
If you continue to play Daniel Jones in hopes for upside, this isn’t the week that will come to pass. Facing the Buccaneers stout defense on Monday Night, there is concern with the entire Giants offensive line sitting in quarantine with positive cases confirmed. This game should be cleared with no new tests, but we are staying far away.
This is more of a cautionary sit this week, as the Saints take travel and head to Chicago to face the Bears. The Bears defense is very powerful and New Orleans will likely be without Michael Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders yet again. While Drew Brees typically lifts his level of play in games like this, there are far better options this week to risk a dud of a showing. The ground game should be first priority for the Saints this week.
Devonta Freeman (NYG)
This might be an obvious situation based on injury status, but we must preach the benching of Devonta Freeman this week if he manages to suit up. We never did understand the push for Freeman off the wire, even though he was taking over for Saquon Barkley – the legs just aren’t there anymore as his sluggish running style leaves him touchdown dependant. Look for another option regardless of playing status.
If you know and read our work, this might come as a shock to some in the community. We are all in on D’Andre Swift, but this is the week we could see coach Matt Patricia alter the approach verse the stout Colts defense. Adrian Peterson could get the nod in this one as a more bruising style of runner would help move the chains. Swift will get his opportunities, but we caution the overall output this week. Don’t be shocked if it’s underwhelming.
We have gone on record already to suggest trading the services of the Cowboys Zeke Elliott, so this is the natural other option. Outside of two favorable contests for the rest of the season, Elliott will be facing six games of top-six run defenses. This is one of those situations where the Boys face the Eagles great run defense and will struggle with a third string passer. We understand if you have no other option, but he is a bench to us as of today.
CeeDee Lamb (DAL)
Unfortunately, the time has come to place majority of the Cowboys talents on the bench and rookie CeeDee Lamb should be in for another terrible outcome. With a third string passer now behind center, while facing a defensive front that will make life very difficult for the pass game – we are more than comfortable to place him on the bench this week and look for much better options.
Coming off the bye-week and loading up their rookie quarterback (Tua Tagovailoa), the potential is high for the receiving core, but not in his first NFL contest. DeVante Parker should be good to go in this matchup, but likely will draw the services of Jalen Ramsey – which is never a good thing. Parker has had a decent season thus far but will be locked down for the most part while his young passer finds his footing. Better days will come.
Even as this matchup has our mouths watering, how can we trust the play of TY Hilton at this point. Phillip Rivers has proven to be incapable to support this receiver all season, and a good matchup does nothing for us to become instant believers. There is the potential for Hilton to have his best day of the season, but we for one can’t take that chance. Find a better option this week again.
Robert Tonyan (GB)
Falling back down to earth as we all envisioned, the lack of targets will again be felt with Davonte Adams back in the lineup. Adams is again becoming that target hog that Aaron Rodgers is looking for, leaving Robert Tonyan the afterthought. The only potential in saving his day is once again touchdowns, which will be tough to muster.
Josh Allen (BUF)
The needle has been trending in the wrong direction for the Bills over the past three weeks, but this could be the contest they get back on track. Facing the Patriots who could be without Stephan Gilmore, and being a pivotal contest to edge out leadership in the AFC East – Allen should be prepared to rip the Pats defense apart. There is risk in this play, but the top end numbers could be plentiful.
Last week we had Jimmy Garoppolo in the same position as a potential big game baller – and he let us down miserably. Getting right back on the wagon, this week should bring with it glorious numbers and statistics. This is a monster contest in all rights and should bring out the best in most talents on the field. If your stuck at the position and need a filler, this should be a nice start.
Jonathan Taylor (IND)
So far in his rookie season, the Colts Jonathan Taylor has been very good, but not great overall. Being very consistent in his gathering of points, coming off the bye week could be ripe for that explosive contest we’ve all been waiting for. Facing the Lions who have shored up their inadequacy in the defending the run over the past couple games, we should see the Colts hit them in the mouth on the ground. Safe start, with high-end potential this week.
We listed the Rams Darrell Henderson to be a bench player in week seven, and we again hit the nail on the head. The game script called for Malcom Brown verse the Bears last week, but again we should witness Henderson get back on track. Facing the Dolphins and their uneven run defense – Henderson will have loads of touches to promote a very strong day. The Rams are all about game script and this will be the focus in week eight.
While this is perhaps one of the greatest risks of the week, James White has giant appeal verse a Bills defense that can’t stop the run. Even though White isn’t the primary runner in the backfield, he always torches the Bills defense in the screen game and open field check downs. This season has been regrettable for White thus far but this has glory written all over it. Heavy risk for potential reward is here this week.
Tyreek Hill (KC)
Finding players that will hit massive statistics is part of this evaluation, and this should be the day we see Tyreek Hill go with gusto. Hill is a must start each week, but hasn’t found that killer instinct that we’ve grown to appreciate in the past. Hill has been very reliable and steady, but we are looking for that massive blow-up contest this week. The reward should be 25-points as his floor.
Since returning to the field of play from his injury, Kenny Golladay has done very well, especially the past two contests. Being a must start on a weekly basis, this is another situation where the 2020 breakout could come to fruition. Facing a Colts defense that has been very strong all season long – Golladay will be a focal point to keep this Lions offense moving in the right direction. One touchdown should be the floor this week.
The time has come for us to preach Cole Beasley, as he is becoming the most reliable, quietest pass catcher in the league for fantasy football. Coming off his best game of the season, the Bills will be forced to continue to feed this talent to move the chains. Beasley looks like a man possessed at times willing first downs no matter the length. Even as the Pats still have a strong secondary, this slot receiver is a safe flex option with the potential to again steal the show.
Jimmy Graham (NO)
The notion of this weeks start/sit, comes in the form of revenge games. This week the Bears face the Saints and Jimmy Graham gets another opportunity to stick it to his former club. Graham has been seeing the targets be very consistent throughout the first seven games – and Nick Foles will be looking in his direction a lot, especially if Allen Robinson doesn’t suit up. A whopping 10-targets isn’t out of the question here.
