Hard to believe it’s week 10 of the NFL
season, and to make matters worse, six teams are on the bye leaving fantasy owners
scrambling. Typically with so many with a week off, the waiver wire wouldn’t contain
much potential, but this week seems to be the anomaly.
Injuries have again decimated fantasy
squads and finding adequate replacements will become an issue. This week’s
edition of waiver wire targets won’t come in the form of finding high end talent,
but rather who will hold the most volume. We have a heaping list of players to
consider for week 10. Let’s go shopping.
Quarterbacks:
Never in my wildest dreams would I have figured to be placing Ryan
Fitzpatrick back on a waiver wire target listing. Nevertheless, here we are
again, and Fitz-magic has the ability to make things happen. The Fins haven’t been
horrible offensively these past few weeks and should again make a push. If you’re
desperate at the position, Fitz might be your guy.
Daniel Jones (NYG) (27%)
Coming off a rough outing verse the
Cowboys on Monday Night Football, Daniel Jones will be looking to get back on
track in week 10 verse the lowly New York Jets. The Jets have been the staple
of dysfunction without anything positive appearing on the horizon. Jones should
have a much better day.
On the
Radar:
Ryan
Tannehill (TEN) (18%)
Kyle Allen (CAR) (8%)
Brian Hoyer
(IND) (0%)
Running
Backs:
Even as the Buccaneers continue to lose games, their offense found
something of a stride last week against the Seahawks in Seattle. Ronald Jones appeared
to be a different players than we’ve seen throughout the entire season running with
speed and power. Gaining the endorsement from his head coach to get the start
this week, Jones is back on the fantasy radar with good potential. Bust factor
is always present, but he could be worth a shot if you’re desperate.
Kalen
Ballage (MIA) (10%)
With recent news that Mark Walton again
was caught with his hands in the cookie jar, being suspended for the next four
contests, the Dolphins will have to use a committee approach to find any production
on the ground. First up will be Kalen Ballage to carry the load with his
teammates being a very close second. Ballage has goal line appeal which is why
we place him here ahead of the others on the roster. A short leash will be here
for this runner.
Trey Edmunds (PIT) (1%)
Losing James Conner is never a good
thing for any fantasy club, but last week the Steelers created a game plan
which integrated both Trey Edmunds and Jaylen Samuels to hold strong fantasy
value. Edmunds was used primarily as the runner with Samuels as the pass catching
back. While it will be unclear if the same scheme will dominate again in week
10, he has value if you’re stuck at the position.
While we suggested trading for LeVeon Bell two weeks ago with his
mouth watering upcoming schedule, a surprise knee injury has sent him to have
an MRI with the unknown placing fear in our minds. Until we know for sure of
the results, it’s not a terrible idea to snag Ty Montgomery from the wire to
back your team up. Montgomery will be involved in both the run and the pass giving
him sound volume potential. Let’s all wish for positives for Bell’s return.
Derrius
Guice (WAS) (32%)
Like we said a week prior, Derrius Guice still remains on the wire
and should be picked up and stored on your bench awaiting his return. This
should be one of the final weeks to snag his services with loads of potential work
coming his way. The Skins will want to unleash this talented runner to see what
he can offer. Injuries have derailed his career thus far, but he could become a
valuable piece to winning a fantasy title this year.

Ty Johnson (DET) (40%)
Josh Adams (NYJ) (0%)
Jalen Richard (OAK) (3%)
Gus Edwards (BAL) (4%)
Myles Gaskin (MIA) (0%)
Wide
Receivers:
With news reports breaking that the
speedy Brandin Cooks has been given no timeline to return to the field due to
his recent concussion issues, enter the reliable and serviceable Josh Reynolds
back to fantasy relevance. The Rams are fresh off the bye week and will undoubtedly
have a number of plays for Reynolds on the books. He will be a valuable addition
to any fantasy roster, and should warrant top priority.
Zach Pascal (IND) (9%)
With the injury to TY Hilton for the
next several weeks, Zach Pascal has turned heads with sound play and understanding
of the Frank Reich system. Being leaned upon to be the primary target last
week, Pascal didn’t disappoint. With Parris Campbell also nursing another
injury, the target share will be vast here even if Brain Hoyer gets the start
in relief of Jacoby Brissett. Enter high waiver priority for Pascal.
The Buffalo Bills continue to roll and
win games, and Josh Allen appears to have found sound chemistry with Cole
Beasley. While we would like to see much more production from the pass attack,
we can see this offense heating up this week against the Browns who can’t get
out of their own way. Beasley has been and will be a PPR producer, but has
recently become highly targeted in the redzone. Around 10 fantasy points is the
staple here.
Russell Gage (ATL) (0%)
Everyone overlooked our evaluation for
the Falcons Russell Gage two weeks ago, and here we are again preaching much of
the same. With Mohamed Sanu no longer with the club, Gage has been given the rights
to the slot position and did very well with it before the Falcons bye week.
With Matt Ryan pegged to return, Gage will be an instant producer with
defenders daring to throw in his direction. PPR points with possible touchdown potential
rests here.
AJ Brown (TEN) (19%)
On the

Olsbisi Johnson (MIN) (3%)
Alex Erickson (CIN) (6%)
Danny

Andy Isabella (ARZ) (1%)
Adam Humphries (TEN) (5%)
Laquon Treadwell (MIN) (0%)
Donte Moncrief (CAR) (7%)
Tight-Ends:
Much like last week, we will again throw support to the Buccaneers
OJ Howard. While we understand his season has been a colossal nightmare, this
should be the week he finally receives some of the target share. Even though we
can’t be certain, the tight end position has been a complete devastation and
finding that potential boom player might be worth the risk. If you’re in bye
week trouble, Howard should be here.
Jared Cook
(NO) (41%)
This is more of a speculative addition as the Saints come back
from their bye week. Having nothing credible to inform that Cook is over his
injury issues, the matchup has us intrigued. Drew Brees showed very well in his
first game back and will want to spread the ball all over the field verse the
Falcons. Watch the injury report and fire up Cook if he’s back to full health.
Mike Gesicki
(MIA) (4%)
Having struggled throughout his time in the NFL, the Fins Mike
Gesicki has found new life with Ryan Fitzpatrick throwing the ball. There was
never any question the talent he held, but rather the slowness of his development
which lead to poor outings. Having secured more of the offensive target share,
Gesicki could be climbing up the ranks. Still major risk sits here, but he is
worth a look against the Colts.
