With week two in the books, this will become a very
important waiver wire instance as injuries have clouded the landscape. With high
end quarterbacks being lost for a long period of time, finding those
replacements will dictate terms. Also, if you find yourself in a situation
where you need a win in week three, finding those key matchups could be the difference
in winning and losing. Get those waiver requests in and good luck.

Quarterbacks:
No one circles the wagons like the Buffalo
Bills and second year pro Josh Allen surly has this team moving. We have been greatly
impressed with his progression thus far and truly believe that will continue in
week three verse the Bengals. The Bills receiving core has done a great job to
assist Allen in his overthrows, but, Allen has been very efficient for the most
part. A great pickup for week three.
Jimmy Garoppolo (SF) (49%)
The 49ers and Kyle Shanahan has this
club moving in the right direction, and starting pivot Jimmy Garoppolo has been
rather impressive. With natural progression and chemistry building with this
receiving core, Garoppolo should be a coveted player to help ease the loss of
Drew Brees or Ben Roethlisberger.
Mason Rudolph (PIT) (2%)
With news that the Steelers starting
quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been lost for the entire season to an elbow
injury, enter backup Mason Rudolph. While some may want to look elsewhere for
more credible production, don’t discount the ability of this strong armed
passer. Playing on an offense that still has many pieces to work with, the
Rudolph tenure could be the end of Roethlisberger in Pittsburgh.
Teddy Bridgewater (NO) (1%)
If your league doesn’t hold many passers on the wire at this
point, snagging Saints backup - Teddy Bridgewater is your only bet. The Saints
offense is still loaded and should be able to generate a good level of offense,
but everything rests on the arm of Bridgewater. We like other options first,
but aren’t opposed to this one either.

Running Backs:
When Tevin Coleman was lost to injury,
we instantly placed Raheem Mostert on our waiver pickup list last week, to
which he delighted his owners. No longer being a secret, it’s clear the 49ers
will use both Matt Breida and Mostert to form a healthy one-two punch of production.
Some may believe that the Chiefs Darwin Thompson is the better priority at
running back, but at this point, Mostert has a clear role and will provide the
numbers required.
Darwin Thompson (KC) (18%)
With injuries to Damien Williams and
LeSean McCoy last week, the obvious waiver target is Darwin Thompson. If you
are unfamiliar with this man’s skillset, trust us when we say, he is a beast.
Thompson would have no issue slotting in as the Chiefs starting runner if both
McCoy and Williams cant suit up. But early reports suggest that Shady is on
track to play. It won’t hurt to hedge your bets on this one if you need a
running back this week.
Jaylen Samuels (PIT) (35%)
With news that James Conner also banged
up his knee in last week’s contest, Jaylen Samuels will catapult his way into
the starting spot if Conner is forced to miss time. Reports out of Pittsburgh
suggest that Conner is fine and should be no worse for wear, but much like the
situation with the Chiefs, it won’t hurt to play it safe and snag Samuels off
the wire just in case.
Frank Gore
(BUF) (8%)
Yet another situation that finds itself very intriguing, the Buffalo
Bills rookie Devin Singletary also finds himself with an injury and is in real
danger of missing this game verse the Bengals. While Frank Gore continues to
receive the lions-share of the work from this backfield, losing Singletary
would surly give the touches to Gore this week. Gore should be in line to lead
the team once again.

Wide Receivers:
As we preached a week ago, we shall once again provide the insight
to grab Mecole Hardman off the wire. While most will want to suggest teammate
Demarcus Robinson because of last week’s showing, we feel Hardman will have the
greater role moving forward without Tyreek Hill in the lineup. This situation
will be more of a pick your poison approach, but you can’t go wrong with the
speed and skill of this man.
Demarcus
Robinson (KC) (7%)
Coming off a career high contest in Oakland, Demarcus Robinson has
been blazing up wavier boards as managers rush to obtain his services. As it
stands today, as we said above, we feel Hardman is the safer of the two to perform
weekly, but Robinson will have a role as Andy Reid will chose to mix it up. In
basic terms, you can’t go wrong with any Kansas City player at this point.
Nelson
Agholor (PHI) (15%)
Placing the Eagles Nelson Agholor as a top waiver consideration is
solely based on the injuries to his teammates DeSean Jackson and Alshon
Jeffery. If it’s confirmed that both will sit out in week three, Agholor will
again be the featured player in this pass game and should be owned and started
on all your rosters. The target share will be here if the Eagles are
shorthanded.
Randall Cobb
(DAL) (24%)
With more injury news, receiver Michael Gallup will be in the
medical room for the next two-four weeks, leaving Randall Cobb to pick up the
pieces. Granted, Devin Smith showed well last week and should slot in as Gallup’s
replacement, we have been huge supporters of Cobb going back to the offseason as
we love him with the Cowboys. PPR potential is fantastic here without Gallup.
James
Washington (PIT) (29%)
With the Mason Rudolph tenure set to begin in Pittsburgh, James
Washington gets a massive bump on the market as both played together in
college. The chemistry is already here between the two and should be a vocal
point moving forward. Adding to that, Donte Moncrief has again underwhelmed and
should find his way to warming that bench weekly. Washington will rise up with
Rudolph and everyone should be aware.

Tight-Ends:
Much like the evaluation for Randall Cobb, Jason Witten gets an
uptick in value with Michael Gallup on the sidelines. Witten has proven to be a
giant piece to this offense early, and should again draw targets from Dak
Prescott in short yardage and redzone situations. Tight end has been brutal to
predict, and Witten might bring relief.
Jordan Reed
(WAS) (35%)
This is more of a speculative suggestion as Jordan Reed continues to
deal with concussion issues. While he could be cleared to return this week, we
must caution the start verse the Bears. Either way, no one can argue the skill
Reed holds, but simple fear that he could be injured with one hit is real. Keep
tabs on Reed and his health before placing a claim.
Chris
Herndon (NYJ) (13%)
While we might be a few weeks early on this one, the Jets Chris
Herndon should be on the radar and potentially snagged off the wire this week
to not miss out. Herndon will have a big role once he returns from suspension
and could become a large difference maker. If you can hold him on your roster,
by all means get him now.
