While in past weeks the wire would act to help hold talent – this week should only be seen as what could lift your club. With many players vying for opportunity for next season, there are many names on this list that could be seen as an upgrade. This is the final waiver wire article for the season – thank you for all the support and good luck! Let’s dive into this week’s edition of wavier wire targets.

Jalen Hurts (PHI) (40%)
Upon the benching of Carson Wentz, we had positive thoughts on Jalen Hurts, but required confirmation of play. After last weeks fabulous showing, Hurts will be a league winner in most fantasy leagues. Putting up almost 40-points last week – the Eagles face the Cowboys which will be seen as a great plug-in play. Hurts will carry your club.
The Bears Mitchell Trubisky has come in for Nick Foles and secured his spot as the team’s starter to this point. Facing the Jaguars leaky defense this week, he is a viable pickup and play. If you have been streaming passers this season, Trubisky is a solid upgrade in week 16.
The evolution of the Browns pass game has lifted the overall prospects that Baker Mayfield can once again be trusted. Seeing the past four games hit a floor of 20-points and a ceiling of 36-points, this matchup verse the Jets is mouth watering. Mayfield is starting to heat up and a good play for the championship.
Philip Rivers (IND) (44%)
Marcus Mariota (LVR) (1%)
Jeff Wilson (SF) (19%)
Last week we recommended the pickup and play of Jeff Wilson and here we are again. With Raheem Mostert at less than 100% entering week 15 – it appears he will be shutdown for the rest of 2020 to that ankle problem. Once again, enter Jeff Wilson to the mix of a pickup and play with decent upside. He will split work with Jerick McKinnon but has all the touchdown advantage.
With news that the Falcons are moving forward with Ito Smith over Todd Gurley for the remainder of the season – he has some value heading into championship weekend. Volume will be key here, as facing the Chiefs powerful offense could derail his overall stat line. Smith has been able to be involved in the pass game with is another positive. If you need a back, Smith is a good option.
Picking up the Cowboys Tony Pollard is contingent on the health of Zeke Elliott. Having been a late pregame inactive – Pollard showed his ability for electric playmaking ability. At this point it is to early to know if he will get the start again – but picking him up just in case should be the play here.
Salvon Ahmed (MIA) (35%)
Jerick McKinnon (SF) (37%)
Gus Edwards (BAL) (44%)
Lynn Bowden (MIA) (26%)
Greg Ward (PHI) (3%)
Of all the Philly wideouts to this point, Greg Ward seems to have formed the best chemistry with Jalen Hurts. This isn’t a surprise as they likely had time in practice playing with the second team offense. Ward had a strong redzone role last week and could again verse Dallas. Good flex appeal rests here.
Since Will Fuller was suspended for his PED violation, Keke Coutee has been that reliable target for Deshaun Watson. Facing the Bengals this week does lift his floor and he should again be considered to be a flex option. If you need a PPR safety net, Coutee is a sound option with heavy target upside.
We have been giant supporters of the Falcons Russell Gage for quite some time and this is the week we could witness him produce yet again. Facing the Chiefs powerful offense – the Falcons will need to throw often to stay competitive. Over the past three games, Gage has produced a very strong level of points. If Julio Jones sits again – pickup and fire up Gage as the flex with high confidence.
Chad Hansen (HOU) (2%)
Tyron Johnson (LAC) (7%)
John Brown (BUF) (40%)
Tyler Higbee (LAR) (50%)
The tight end position has been difficult this season to predict, but Tyler Higbee could again provide good touchdown upside. Facing the Hawks defense that will be geared up to stop Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp – Higbee should witness redzone targets again.
With how strong the Bills offense has been this season; Dawson Knox continues to be that forgotten man. While the target share hasn’t been great – the touchdown prowess is here. Buffalo uses the tight end in the redzone and will again verse the Patriots. If you need a risk-reward player, Knox could be that guy.
The Cowboys Dalton Schultz has been very steady this season, but nothing overly tangible. His floor in PPR formats has rested around the six-point mark, with touchdowns being the reason for optimism. Facing the Eagles in a good matchup – Schultz could find his way back in the endzone, Pickup and play is present here.
Jordan Reed (SF) (21%)
Tyler Eifert (JAX) (6%)
Cole Kmet (CHI) (12%)
Washington (34%) vs Carolina
