Aaron Rodgers (GB)
Coming off a subpar showing last week, Aaron Rodgers has a glorious matchup verse the Titans defense that struggles to stop the pass. Green Bay will be looking for the kill shot early and often as the Titans will try and control the clock with Derrick Henry. Rodgers is a very strong play this week.
There has been nothing better than witnessing Jalen Hurts take the starting role and flourish. Facing the Cowboys leaky defense – we could again be witness to another great performance from this rookie. Hurts is shaping up to be a league winner this year. Start with confidence.
Kareem Hunt (CLE)
This contest verse the Jets has the makings to support both Kareem Hunt and Nick Chubb. If this game gets out of hand early, as we suspect – Hunt will see much more work in the second half. PPR upside is always present and he will be a very safe play for your team.
Even though this matchup on paper looks dire, the Steelers are a complete mess right now and will struggle verse the Colts who are riding high. Jonathan Taylor has impressed over the past several weeks and will be a focal point for this offense this week. An endzone trip is likely.
The Broncos Melvin Gordon has had moments this season and this will again be one of those good days. Facing the Chargers who struggle on the best of days to stop the run, Gordon will be leaned upon to generate offense. He will roam free and find the endzone again this week in another edition of a revenge game.
Robert Woods (LAR)
It has been an up-and-down season for the Rams Robert Woods, but he has surely been the most reliable pass catcher on this team. Facing the Seahawks defense that is still a league bottom feeder in stopping the pass – he will find ways to get involved. The last time they met, Woods was held in check, but that shouldn’t happen again.
We have been somewhat naysayers on Marvin Jones this season and he has burned us whenever we suggest to sit him. Facing the Bucs secondary who has looked horrific the past several weeks, the Lions will be forced to pass the ball to try and keep up. Having posted two 20-plus point games in three weeks – he has a safer floor again verse a weak pass defense.
This play could be seen with some level of risk, but Greg Ward has the best chemistry with Jalen Hurts to date. Playing on the second team offense in practice, its no coincidence they have found a connection these past two games. Redzone upside is also here and we wouldn’t be shocked to see him score again. Flex appeal all day rests with Ward.
Robert Tonyan (GB)
Has there been a more consistent tight end that no one speaks of then Robert Tonyan? Over the past five games, he has found over 10-points full PPR and will have the opportunity to again be a focal point on this offense. The Titans are terrible in stopping the pass and we wouldn’t be shocked to witness him find the endzone more than once.
Kirk Cousins (MIN)
Even with the season on the line, the Saints defense will make things tough on Kirk Cousins this week. If Minnesota can get the ground game moving, Cousins could find success through the play action pass. However, it is far to difficult to trust him this week.
Some believe that Derek Carr will be a good bet to throw a lot this week, but coming off that groin injury, we caution any thought of playing him. Miami has played great on the defensive side and will force the issue again this week. Keep Carr on the bench.
Mike Davis (CAR)
The Washington front seven is so talented that this will be a very difficult play for any fantasy manager this week. Washington has upped their level of play on defense so much that we can’t endorse any situation where playing Davis is viable. Keep him on the bench.
This is something of a caution over a must sit this week. Chris Carson is very talented and can break runs on any play, but facing a Rams team who will be looking to step up their play after last week meltdown isn’t safe. L.A is still one of the best in stopping the run and this could act as a major disappointment for your club this week.
Facing the Buccaneers who possess one of the best run defenses in the league, we have no choice but to put D’Andre Swift on the bench. Even with some form of upside based on his great play of late – we have no choice but to place him here for the finals.
Tyler Lockett (SEA)
For the fantasy finals, Tyler Lockett is far to volatile for us to endorse. Seeing only one contest go over the 15-point mark since week eight, there is no way we can trust him to have a sound showing. Facing the Rams who will be fired up to prove a point that last week was the anomaly – we are sitting Lockett this week.
The Jets have moved away feeding Jamison Crowder with a boatload of targets and the floor has definitely fallen. Playing the Browns who seem to be turning the corner in terms of being a dangerous defense – the PPR upside we once coveted, is no more. We are comfortable to sit Crowder this week.
Even as Juju Smith-Schuster has had a strong season overall, we really struggle to place him into our lineup this week verse the Colts. The Steelers offense is clearly broken at the moment and could lay another uneven show this week. Not allowed to dance on opposing team logo’s anymore might be a welcomed sight – but we’ll play it safe here as a touchdown is the saving grace for Juju in the finals.
Evan Engram (NYG)
Even a pro bowl ballet wont force us to play the Giants Evan Engram this week. His season has been steady in the form of mediocrity and the potential return of Daniel Jones won’t lift him up our ranks. Tight end has been a tough position to predict this season, but we still shy away from Engram.
Baker Mayfield (CLE)
Don’t allow the Jets fluke last week to alter the thought process, Baker Mayfield and the Browns will be looking to put the hurt on New York. There is potential for the ground game to lead the way, but Mayfield has played very well of late. This could be a very strong showing.
Playing the Chiefs Patrick Mahomes is a clear no brainer on a weekly basis, but we also evaluate who could be the top point getters for the week. Facing the Falcons defense that really struggle to stop the pass – Mahomes is shaping up to have an enormous day. He will lead you to the promise land.
Leonard Fournette (TB)
This play is again contingent on Ronald Jones sitting out this contest. If that does occur, we are all in on Leonard Fournette having what could be a banner day. The Bucs will be looking to put the hurt on the Lions and Fournette will have a very strong role. He could be a massive play this week.
With Cam Akers again in the medical room, Darrell Henderson is once more placed into the spotlight to be that starting back this week. Facing the Seahawks who are prone to give up big plays on the ground, there will be an opportunity for Henderson to have a solid day.
The Buffalo Bills exposed the Broncos last week on the ground, and this is music to our ears for Austin Ekeler. While his season has been virtually lost to that hamstring injury – this is the week holding him on the bench (during his injury) will pay dividends. The game plan will be to force feed this back and the PPR upside is glorious as always. Ekeler could be your league winner as well.
Allen Robinson (CHI)
Like Allen Robinson needed anymore motivation to put up big numbers, but this week he returns to Jacksonville in what will be an epic revenge game. The Bears are playing for their playoff lives and Robinson will show his former club they made a grave mistake. Even though Robinson has been a fabulous receiver all season – this will be a massive day!
Even thought the Bengals AJ Green has had a forgettable, regrettable season, this could be the day he saves fantasy managers. The Houston Texans are one of the worst teams in defending the pass and Tyler Boyd is set to miss action. With Ryan Finley having shown chemistry with Green in the past – its not out of the question to see him succeed. High risk, high reward rests here.
The Steelers will be looking to slow down TY Hilton this week with greater coverage to his side, which could elevate Michael Pittman to have a strong day. Pittman has taken a backseat these past few games at the expense of Hilton – but this could be the game that alters the prowess. This is a giant risk to start Pittman in the finals, but it could pay big rewards.
T.J Hockenson (DET)
Much like the Marvin Jones evaluation, T.J Hockenson has been a reliable player at the position. While the Lions will struggle to form anything on the ground, the pass will be their only viable option to put up points. Hockenson has seen his role increase since week seven and this will provide fantastic upside appeal. He could have a top five day this week.
