As we gear up for yet another week of transactions to build out our rosters, finding the pieces that will help lift our clubs remains paramount. With the wire getting picked clean in many respects, there is still good value to be had in matchup play. If your squad is near the bottom, don’t pack it in just yet – a quick turnaround is at the forefront with sound moves. Let’s dive into this week’s edition of wavier wire targets.

Teddy Bridgewater (CAR) (45%)
While Teddy Bridgewater left a lot on the field last week, this week should bring out that killer instinct verse his former club. Facing the Saints who are now a division foe – it should elevate his game that much more to stick it to his old team. The way in which the Saints defense has been playing, this could be a nice bye week filler if you’re in need.
Recommending a pickup and play when we discuss the Browns Baker Mayfield isn’t something, we are overly comfortable doing, but facing the Bengals has opportunity. These clubs faced off in week two where Mayfield was good enough to secure nearly 18-points and should hover around that mark this week. The Browns need a comeback win like no other and if you are in need – Mayfield could get you through.
The Washington Football Team and their quarterback Kyle Allen will see better days, and this could be that week. Facing the Cowboys and their dysfunctional defense that can’t stop anyone at the moment – we could see Allen flirt with 20-points becoming his floor. Washington is in the beginning stages of figuring everything out and this could be a sneaky nice contest for Allen.
Drew Lock (DEN) (9%)
Andy Dalton (DAL) (44%)
Nick Foles (CHI) (10%)
Tua Tagovailoa (MIA) (7%)
Justin Jackson (LAC) (50%)
Just hovering at the 50% ownership stake, the Chargers Justin Jackson is a nice grab off the bye playing the Jaguars. With how well rookie passer Justin Herbert is playing and moving this offense – both Jackson and Joshua Kelley will have a role and an opportunity to eat. If Jackson is on the wire, scoop him up for a plugin play.
News broke that the Eagles Miles Sanders will miss time to that knee injury which will naturally elevate Boston Scott to the starting role. Scott has in the past done a great job in relief and should again with added touches in the backfield. With how thin running back is – you could do a lot worse than Scott this week verse the Giants.
Having Washington’s J.D McKissic sit on the radar list last week, we are comfortable to lift him into a pickup role off the wire. The way in which this team plays, their running backs have become interchangeable in the pass game where McKissic and Antonio Gibson can haul in passes whenever needed. Seeing a healthy six targets last week – his floor is very safe verse the Cowboys.
Tony Pollard (DAL) (23%)
D’Ernest Johnson (CLE) (18%)
Chris Thompson (JAX) (12%)
Duke Johnson (HOU) (24%)
Ty Johnson (NYJ) (0%)
Travis Fulgham (PHI) (46%)
If you were like us, the Eagles Travis Fulgham needed to prove his play in one more week before we gave our full endorsement. Still being owned in only 46% of leagues – you can see that trust factor needed to be seen by others also. Even with Desean Jackson and Jalen Reagor ready to come back to the field, this receiver will have a role in which he earned. You won’t get another shot to gain his services after this week.
We have preached the pickup of the Broncos Tim Patrick for weeks now, and yet fantasy managers continue to wait. Filling in for the injured Courtland Sutton, Patrick has made a name for himself to be very reliable in the process. The past three games have proven that he is a favorite of Drew Lock and will continue to feast with a great share of targets. Patrick needs to be on your roster.
With the Buffalo Bills struggling the past two weeks, there is great optimism that they’ll get back on track in week seven verse the Jets. At this point, we truly struggle to fathom why this slot dynamo doesn’t see the ball with higher regularly? Cole Beasley is truly a playmaker and should get more targets with John Brown playing in obvious pain. He is a good get for week seven.
The time has come to roster the Dolphins Preston Williams if you have the space. Coming off back-to-back touchdown performances, it is clear he has passed the eye test in getting over his knee issue. Even as Miami is on the bye this week and will place Tua Tagovailoa as the starter in week eight – others will pass Williams making him ripe for the picking. Stacking your bench is equally as important as your starting lineup and we fully recommend grabbing Williams if you can.
James Washington (PIT) (10%)
Desean Jackson (PHI) (23%)
Jalen Reagor (PHI) (14%)
Keelan Cole (JAX) (29%)
Gabriel Davis (BUF) (4%)
Randall Cobb (HOU) (16%)
Demarcus Robinson (KC) (1%)
Nelson Agholor (LVR) (3%)
Darnell Mooney (CHI) (2%)
Jalen Guyton (LAC) (0%)
Darren Fells (HOU) (6%)
With how much speed the Texans have on this roster – the forgotten man in coverage continues to be Darren Fells. Having posted back-to-back games of solid production, his floor is becoming safer each week. With the complete crapshoot that is the tight end position this season – Fells could again be a breath or fresh air for earning points.
The Tennessee Titans have proven to be very reliable in the fantasy department and the next man up mentality leaves nothing to desire. Anthony Firkser came in relief for Jonnu Smith who was lost to injury and flourished with the added targets. With how this offense is constructed on the base of a run first approach – the play action pass will always leave players open. If Smith sits this week, fire up Firkser with confidence.
It really is unfortunate that the Colts have their bye week this week, as Trey Burton is literally thriving. Having the support of his head coach who has a history with him in Philadelphia – the targets are coming in bunches and Burton is rewarding those who trusted to play him. If you can spare the room on your bench, he could be a great value down the line.
Logan Thomas (WAS) (14%)
Cameron Brate (TB) (6%)
Gerald Everett (LAR) (3%)
Greg Olsen (SEA) (19%)
Buffalo (69%) vs NY Jets
