Time is starting to pass and edging out other managers for those coveted playoff spots is the deal. Winning head-to-head matchups are starting to become very important, especially for those with lesser records. Never give up hope as one week could turn it all around. With bye weeks, injuries and Coivd still the issue – this will be a very important week to play the right pieces. Follow us as we look at the best to play and sit this week.

Josh Allen (BUF)
While the Bills and Josh Allen have struggled over the past two contests, this is the week they get back on track. Facing the dysfunctional Jets, this contest should act as a tune up to rectify all inadequacy in their game. Buffalo should ride the ground game to open the pass. Allen is a great play this week.
Seeing three straight contests of very poor performances, Matt Ryan and the Falcons came back to glory last week. Atlanta is in the first stages of a potential blow-up and rebuild, so this should provide mammoth motivation for Ryan and this offense once again. Facing the Lions and their defense which is prone to give up plays – Ryan is a sexy play this week to get at least 25-fantasy points.
Todd Gurley (ATL)
It was odd to witness the Falcons score 40-points last week and witness Todd Gurley muster under 10-points for his fantasy owners. This week will tell a different tale as the Lions will struggle to stop the run while covering the pass. The Falcons offense isn’t one that should be overly criticized, but rather the team dynamics which derailed their overall outlook. Getting back to the ground attack should happen in this one. Finding the endzone is very likely here.
Over the past three games, Joe Mixon has been utilized to perfection while seeing a greater role in the pass attack. Now with him gone for the week with a foot injury – Gio Bernard will get the bulk of the work as his replacement. While we should mention, if you have a better option – consider that first. However, if you are stuck, Bernard is a great filler that should receive volume verse the Browns. Temper the expectations, but a sound day is at the forefront.
It has been difficult to watch the usage of the Bills Devin Singletary so far this season, and we wonder if they get back to form in this one? Singletary is very talented and should be exploited in the screen game and outside rushes to open up the defense. While the Jets appear to be that favorable matchup – it could go sideways with lack of touches. With that said, we are confidant his role will expand as they look to clean up their issues. Getting back in the endzone could happen.
Tre’Quan Smith (NO)
With news reports showing that Michael Thomas and now Emmanuel Sanders will not participate in this matchup – starting Tre’Quan Smith is the natural filler and must play. The game plan for the Saints should include a heavy dose of the ground game and Alvin Kamara through the air – but Smith developed a good rapport with Brees the past few weeks which warrants this start. Targets should be here for him to succeed.
Target share is the name of the game when discussing Terry McLaurin and this week we’ll see massive amounts in that department. The consistency game has been very present with McLaurin and each week literally flipflops the usage numbers in how much he’s targeted. And all the while that trend is pointing down to this week being that of fewer passes to come his way – the Cowboys can’t stop anyone and we should see a touchdown line his sheet.
Having posted three straight games of very sound production, this is the week Kenny Golladay arrives for the 2020 season. Facing the Falcons and their atrocious defense, Golladay will feast and in a very big way. Detroit is on the cusp of staying alive in the playoff race and requires wins verse teams of like aptitude – meaning this game in particular. This should be the best showing from him of the season.
Jared Cook (NO)
Trusting tight ends has been a concern this season, but much like the evaluation of Tre’Quan Smith, Jared Cook now becomes a must start with pass catchers missing in action. Even as the Panthers have played well verse the position, Cook should be peppered with targets to help move this pass game. Eight targets are very reasonable which could get him to hover around the 80-yard mark and potentially a touchdown.
Gardner Minshew (JAX)
Even thought the matchup suggests Gardner Minshew is a safe play, we must error on the side of caution. Facing the Chargers who are coming off the bye, the Jaguars will struggle to keep up with a defense that is looking much better. Garbage time points are the only thing saving his day and we can’t risk it.
As we sit and dissect the Rams offense this season, the Jekyll & Hyde outcomes have been head scratching. Jared Goff hasn’t looked sharp for the most part, especially if the ground attack doesn’t get going. Facing the Bears and a very sound secondary – it has become very tough to preach support for a big day this week. There should be better options for you.
Darrell Henderson (LAR)
Even as we took great levels of pause to preach this sit, it is the smart move. Darrell Henderson has been fantastic so far this season, but this matchup has us shaking in our pants. The Bears defense is very strong verse the run and should find ways to lock the Rams down. We could see more usage from Malcolm Brown, as the need for a more bruising type of back is the way to attack this defense. We get if you need to play him, but if not – on the bench is a good place this week.
This sit recommendation is more cautionary then a must. Josh Jacobs and the Raiders are coming off the bye and will have planned ways to get this back involved. With that, facing the Buccaneers and their stifling run defense – open lanes will be hard to find which could ruin your fantasy day. Finding the endzone on short yardage is always the saving grace, but his stat line outside of a big run should be meek at best. Buyer-beware on Jacobs this week.
Thus far, the Lions Adrian Peterson has been a wonderful fill in running back for your club as points have found his stat sheet. However, the transition of roles from him to rookie D’Andre Swift occurred last week and we wonder if this trend will continue for the rest of the season. The Lions will ride the hot hand which could open room for Peterson – but for our money, we’ll sit him and play Swift this week once again.
Cooper Kupp (LAR)
It is with great sadness that we are forced to at least warn the public of playing the Rams Cooper Kupp. Being very strong supporters of him entering the season, we are truly baffled in how little production has followed this man. Posting only two contests over the 15-point mark and three under the 10-point mark in full PPR – this week’s matchup verse the Bears leaves us running for the hills. If you have better options, we say take it.
This sit comes with more speculation as the numbers completely back the opinion. Baker Mayfield is playing hurt and literally struggling to find Odell Beckham with any regularity. Even as the target share has been plentiful, the top end stats never seem to follow outside of one massive contest. Playing the Bengals does make this an uneven play over a must sit – but we’ll error on the side of caution. If you have better options, perhaps move that way.
The time has come to preach the benching of the Patriots Julian Edelman. Over the past three contests, production has faltered to see the lowest marks of his career last week. While this terrible play would suggest a bounce back is on the horizon – we need proof and are willing to see points on our bench for safer starts this week over this receiver. At this point the trust is gone.
Eric Ebron (PIT)
Even as the matchup appears to believe Eric Ebron could be used in bunches – we can no longer trust this player in any format. Posting one contest over the 10-point mark in full PPR, it’s the emergence of Chase Claypool which has made Ebron the afterthought in this offense. We haven’t lost all hope, but we refuse to play him whatsoever.
Justin Herbert (LAC)
Over the course of his four games played, rookie Justin Herbert has looked great overall. Like any rookie passer, growing pains will be felt, however, this is a matchup that could bring with it career numbers. Coming off the bye and playing at home verse a terrible defense in the Jaguars – fire up Herbert everywhere you have him and watch the points roll in.
Even though the masses and the statistics are fearing most from playing Jimmy Garoppolo this week verse the Patriots, we can’t support that message with this being a true revenge game. This will be the first time Garoppolo comes back to New England since being traded to the 49ers and we know he’ll be geared up for this contest. With everything to prove to his old club – he should have a very strong day. Some risk is here but the payout could be massive.
Joshua Kelley (LAC)
Over the past three weeks, the Chargers Joshua Kelley has done nothing to grow our favor of him. We did like the skillset and the team situation for him to flourish this offseason – but he hasn’t done anything to turn our heads. Nevertheless, facing the Jaguars who just allowed another rookie to breakout (D’Andre Swift), this should also warrant the potential for a massive day. This is our last grasp to support Kelley.
The Buccaneers Ronald Jones has been something of a revelation this season and we must start to support the Tom Brady effect. Jones has collected a healthy 100-plus yards in three consecutive contests and we for one are taking notice. Facing the Raiders this week is another solid opportunity for very strong earnings. Brady loves to set up the pass through the run and we should see it occur again. Safe play with heavy high-end upside here.
Admittedly, we haven’t been the biggest overall supporters of Antonio Gibson, but this should be the day everything gets on track. His usage has been steady so far this season, but playing the Dallas Cowboys and their broken defense should bring the best fantasy day of his young career. With Kyle Allen behind center there is always a risk – but this is a risk we are willing to promote this week.
Will Fuller (HOU)
Recommending Will Fuller as a must start has become the easy evaluation, so our suggestion this week could be a very strong day once again. Fuller has become that player we all thought he could be, and the difference here is that health continues to be on the positive trend. Having scored touchdowns in the last four contests while hitting the 100-plus yard mark in two of the last three – this could again be a wonderful day for this receiver. Fuller is becoming bench proof.
The time has come to go out on a limb and suggest Gabriel Davis could be a massive earner for your club this week. John Brown has been ruled out of this contest which should allow the Bills to test their rookie that much more. Davis is just two games removed from seeing a whooping nine targets and Buffalo would be wise to have a similar game plan ready for him this week. Finding his way back into the endzone could again occur.
Watching the Cowboys play last week was as exciting as watching paint dry. Looking the part of being completely difunctional, Andy Dalton requires a much better showing to keep Dallas in playoff contention. The easy play in our eyes is rookie CeeDee Lamb as his over the middle routes will be an easy get for Dalton in the pass game. Washington is stout in rushing the passer, so quick reads will help and Lamb should eat very well this week.
Noah Fant (DEN)
Returning from injury is a welcomed sight for all, as Noah Fant was appearing to be a solid earner at the position. Facing off against the Chiefs in week seven – the Broncos will require all hands-on deck if they intend to compete. While the fear is that Fant could be on a snap count in this showdown, we are more than confidant to endorse the potential of a big day play. There is great risk here due to volume, but one we could be willing to take.
