PLACE YOUR BETS!!! Wildcard weekend was
definitely an exciting week of football. With all games being supremely competitive,
we again remained even pulling in a 50% winning stake.
Heading into the divisional round, we fully expect
each contest this week to bring with it a heavy dose of fantastic football.
Vegas has placed majority spreads to hold at least a touchdown to bait the
general public into those bets. With seven games left for the postseason, this
will be the final week to move money around to four contests. Good luck, let’s
get those wins!

This week the NFL will combine both AFC and NFC
contests on both Saturday and Sunday starting with the 49ers hosting the
Vikings. Minnesota comes into this match flying high after displacing the
mighty New Orleans Saints. It came with a great level of shock to us seeing the
Vikes knock off the Saints, but with that said, we have been supporters of
their work all season. Minnesota is a tricky group to evaluate as everything
goes through Dalvin Cook and this defense. If both can play well, Kirk Cousins
plays second fettle to perfection.
The 49ers will be fresh off their first round bye, and
should get back a couple of star payers to lift the defense even more. Kwon
Alexander and Dee Ford are on the right side of suiting back up, which will be
a welcomed sight to an already stout group. Jimmy Garoppolo will be tested in
this contest which leads me to believe the 49ers will make grave attempts to
establish the run also. We could see a very tight contest with turnovers being
that much more valuable. While we do like San Fran to come out on top, the
score should be closer than the line indicates.

For the second matchup on Saturday, the best offensive
team in the NFL (lead by Lamar Jackson), will attempt to make easy work of the
Titans. Early news reports have Mark Ingram a potential question mark for this
contest with that injured calf. If Ingram does in fact miss this one, the
Ravens still have more than enough in reserve to keep this ground attack
moving. Gus Edwards and Justice Hill would take the place of Ingram, leaving
this offense no worse for wear.
The Titans on the other hand are coming off a massive
upset victory verse Tom Brady and the Patriots, and will have to muster
something spectacular to come out on top this week. While we have been great
supporters of this Tians group since Ryan Tannehill was made the starter, it
will be tough to endorse a Tennessee victory on the road. While the current
spread does leave us with some level of pause, we don’t have a good level of
belief in the Tian defense overall.
Jackson should be able to find room on this unit while
the Ravens defense should bring heavy heat on Tannehill. We’ll bite and side
with the best in the business even with Derrick Henry running like a tank.

Gearing up for the games on Sunday, the Houston Texans
are riding into Kansas City after their comeback victory to the Buffalo Bills.
While Deshaun Watson showed the public he is fully prepared to put this offense
on his back and carry the load, playing Patrick Mahomes might be a difficult
task. Houston also got a massive lift from JJ Watt with his surprise return to
action last week from a torn pectoral earlier in the season. The Texans will
have to match score for score while hoping to control the clock with a solid
ground attack.
The Kansas City Chiefs were gifted the first round bye
compliments to the Miami Dolphins from week 17. Having a full week of rest and
preparation, we fully expect the Chiefs to be flying out of the gates in hopes
to put the Texans away early. Even as we know the playoff history of all Andy
Reid coached teams, we get a different feeling from this squad as they come
into this contest winning six straight contests. Mahomes should be sharp as a
needle, but we have a difficult time with this high spread. The Chiefs should
win, but we just can’t see them covering.

To finish off the divisional round, the Seattle
Seahawks take travel once again, but this time to Green Bay to face Aaron
Rodgers and company. Seattle did exactly what we expected last week removing
the Eagles from the playoffs, but this week verse Green Bay, could we again see
the same outcome? While Seattle has lost the will of their pounding ground
game, Russell Wilson put the team on his back feeding his rookie up and coming
star DK Metcalf with high regularity.
When talking about the Packers, we still struggle to
believe they are in fact an elite level club. While yes the overall record
would suggest otherwise, the on field product tells a different tale. Rodgers
hasn’t been the typical gun slinger in this offense under Matt LaFleur, but
could we see a different plan in the playoffs? While we do believe the Packers
are built with fewer holes in comparison to the Hawks, Wilson’s MVP play should
keep this one very close. The Packers should pull this out at home, but we like
the final to be a field goal difference rather than four points Vegas is
giving.
