If you happened to win your contest in
the first round of the playoffs, congratulations. The next step in hoisting
that coveted fantasy championship begins here on the waiver wire in week 15.
While we highlighted more than a few players that had big weeks, they’re still
ripe for the picking in most leagues.
With injuries being extremely paramount
this past week, most managers could find themselves scrambling to find adequate
replacement parts. Fear not as we have another sound list of players with good
matchups and potential volume to get you over the top. We are in the midst of
the grind to become a champion, so let’s start on the right foot.

Quarterbacks:
We recommended
the pickup and play of the Titans Ryan Tannehill last week, and will again jump
on the wagon and suggest the same. Tannehill has been playing fantastic
football over the past several weeks and could be the answer to your
quarterback issues. Facing the Texans this week in a game which is now pegged
as massively important, we could see another good showing.
Heading back to the offseason, we really were excited about the
prospects of the Broncos rookie Drew Lock. Unfortunately his season was derailed
with an injury, but now we can sit back and enjoy the payer he’s already
growing to become. Lock is a very accurate passer that has no problem dissecting
defenses from the pocket. He has adequate arm strength which has been proven
these past two weeks. Facing the Chiefs on the road will be tough, but he
should be able to make plays on this leaky defense.
Jacoby
Brissett (IND) (37%)
While the Colts basically ended any shot at finding the postseason
with their loss to the Bucs last week, Jacoby Brissett could be a nice plug-in
player verse the Saints on Monday. Indy will be running for their life in this
contest and will have to play catch-up for most of the game. Garbage time points
should be plentiful when all is said and done as the Colts will have to throw a
lot to stay in this one. He is a decent play this week.

Running Backs:
Once again we see the Redskins running back Derrius Guice fall victim
to injury, reasserting the future hall of famer as the lead option in this
backfield. Peterson is owned in only 40% of leagues and could be there to help
your situation at running back. Facing the Eagles who can’t seem to stop a cold
on defense as of late, Peterson should be in for a big workload as Washington continues
to improve on offense.
DeAndre
Washington (OAK) (7%)
This pickup
for the Raiders DeAndre Washington is more speculative at this point simply
because we have no early word on the health of Josh Jacobs. Washington was
overlooked by most to be that plug-in player last week, and he did in fact produce.
With the season already over for the silver and black, it’s not out of the
question to see Washington take the role again verse the Jaguars while they
bench Jacobs to regain full strength. It might be wise to put in a claim as the
potential in points could again be sound.
Patrick Laird (MIA) (21%)
We had the
Dolphins Patrick Laird on both the waiver pickup and start last week, and he
did a decent job. While the Fins are playing out the string, the volume has
been there over the past two weeks with no viable backup to steal the work.
Facing the Giants in week 15 should at least bring with it another 10-12 points.
Laird is a steady flex option this week once again.

Wide Receivers:
How many
times can we preach the services of the Titans AJ Brown before more take him seriously?
Yes, while we understand that his weeks can be hit-and-miss with consistency,
we truly believe Brown is taking the next step in his progression. Being the
primary target last week, Brown managed to have a superb day which would’ve easily
helped your club hit the win column. While facing the Texans will be a tougher
task, the secondary isn’t polished which will again open the door for Brown. Don’t
sleep on him anymore!
With the return of Eli Manning behind
center, rookie Darius Slayton found magic in the first half of the Monday
Nighter verse the Eagles. While it’s unclear on who will be the starting
quarterback this week for this big-blue, all signs point to Manning suiting up
once again with Daniel Jones still hobbled. Slayton gets a large uptick this
week against the Dolphins.
Zach Pascal (IND) (35%)
With all the
injuries to the Colts receiving core, Zach Pascal finally returned the favor
submitting a sound contest for those who played him. Once again, Indy should be
without the services of TY Hilton for this match on Monday verse the Saints, so
we fully expect him to be targeted a great deal. The risk involved here will be
the coverage from Marshon Lattimore which could open up his teammate Marcus
Johnson. It truly is a coin flip and we could make the case for both players to
find their way onto your roster this week.
Justin
Watson (TB) (0%)
With news that Mike Evans has been injured and likely will not be
back this season, finding any replacement on this pass heavy offense will be
key. While some have made the argument that Breshad Perriman will be next in
line, we really like the potential of Justin Watson finding work. He will be
treated as the primary slot presence and could get 5-8 targets this week. There
is a risk, but the potential is there for a sound day.

Tight-Ends:
As the Rams hang on and save their
playoff lives, Tyler Higbee has become a bigger part of this offense. With
Robert Woods reasserting himself as the primary target, Higbee has become that
trusted player to provide the mismatch on the opposition. There is always a
level of risk attached, but at this point for the tight end position, Higbee
can be trusted.
Hayden Hurst
(BAL) (1%)
Suggesting the pickup and possible play
of the Ravens Hayden Hurst is determent on the health of Mark Andrews. The
Ravens star tight end left last week’s contest with a leg injury and his availability
on a short week might be too ambitious. Hurst filled in perfectly in the absence
of Andrews and would be used in the same fashion as Baltimore is a tight end
heavy usage club. Hurst should be a top add this week with Andrews potentially missing.
OJ Howard (TB) (32%)
Much like the evaluation for Justin Watson, the Buccaneers will be
forced to move forward without the services of Mike Evans which will lift the
prospects of OJ Howard. Having seen more targets last week when Evans existed,
his role should increase. There is always a risk with Howard, but this time it
may be forced to keep the pass game going.
