Here we go, the time is now. If you
happened to be a fortunate member of the fantasy community who scored a playoff
bid, we ride with you all the way to the championship.
Week 14 is upon us and making any
mistake in your lineup will cost you a shot at hoisting that coveted fantasy
trophy. Injuries played a big part last week in the benching of some high end
talent. This week coming off the wire, holding those handcuffs while snagging
good matchups could be the difference. This is the first step and we have a
number of players that should be viewed as high priority off the wire.

Quarterbacks:
Ryan Tannehill (TEN) (39%)
It’s amazing to witness Ryan Tannehill still only having an
ownership stake under 40%. The Titans have been rolling since Tannehill took
over, and Tennessee has a juicy matchup verse the Oakland Raiders this week.
With how well Derrick Henry has been running, it has made life much easier on
Tannehill. Granted last week was the worst showing from Tannehill since he took
over the starting role, this week should be a welcomed sight.
Kyle Allen (CAR) (19%)
The Panthers
dropped a very winnable contest last week to the Redskins and will be looking
to get back on track to keep the playoff hope alive. Allen still performed
admirably in the stat column, but wasn’t able to muster enough for the team to
win. Facing the Falcons who have fallen back down to earth, we could see
another sound showing and solid fantasy earnings.
Gardner Minshew (JAX) (9%)
For one, we aren’t
surprised one bit that the Nick Foles experiment hasn’t come to fruition in
Jacksonville. Going back to the electric play making ability of Gardner Minshew,
we could see a lift for all offensive weapons on this offense. Facing the lowly
Chargers at home in a meaningless contest, the points should be plenty in this
one. If you’re stuck and have been rotating quarterbacks all season, you may
want to get back on the Minshew wagon.
On the Radar:
Ryan
Fitzpatrick (MIA) (10%)
David Blough
(DET) (1%)
Andy Dalton (CIN) (6%)
Devlin Hodges (PIT) (2%)
Drew Lock (DEN) (2%)
Running Backs:
Alexander
Mattison (MIN) (30%)
Simply due to fear of what transpired last night to Dalvin Cook,
the top waiver addition this week will be Alexander Mattison. While Cook has
already gone on record that he intends to play in week 14 with a beauty matchup
verse the Lions, we could see a lot more Mattison as the contest wears on. For
all Cook owners, this should be the first priority incase things go sideways at
practice this week. Keep an eye on the injury report as it will become clearer
late in the week.
Raheem Mostert (SF) (15%)
The 49ers Matt Breida was close to
return a week ago, but fell short to suit up as he endured a sidestep in his
recovery. With Tevin Coleman struggling to find room on the Ravens, Raheem
Mostert again proved to be very reliable. With Mostert’s explosion last week, it
adds to the confusion on who will carry the load in week 14. If Breida continues
to sit, Mostert will have an obvious role, but the trust factor is slim.
Patrick
Laird (MIA) (1%)
We all know the Dolphins are done for the season, but finding
something in Patrick Laird could bring with it some fantasy jubilation. Kalen
Ballage hasn’t been anything to write home about and has found his way into the
medical room. With Laird showing well enough last week, he could be in for a
lot more work in week 14. Facing the Jets without Jamal Adams could be a
welcomed sight for Laird.
Bo Scarbrough (DET) (43%)
The Detroit Lions new passer shocked the viewing public with his ability
to spread the field. Looking to be the starter this week once again, that
should only lift the potential of the bruising running of Bo Scarbrough. Still
being owned at less than 50%, he could be a sound pickup and play this week
verse the Vikings. He is somewhat touchdown dependent, but should have the
volume.
On the Radar:
Darwin
Thompson (KC) (5%)
Peyton Barber
(TB) (21%)
Nyheim Hines (IND) (29%)
Jordan Wilkins (IND) (3%)
Chase Edmonds (ARZ) (13%)
Wide Receivers:
AJ Brown (TEN) (25%)
Call us stubborn,
but we can’t get off the train of the Titans AJ Brown. Understanding that he disappointed
last week, facing the Raiders will be more favorable. Ryan Tannehill has proven
to move the ball when needed and should have every opportunity to make things
happen in this one. Brown is a few steps from being a week fantasy starter and
it could start this week.
John Ross (CIN) (7%)
Coming off
injured reserve and ready to pick up where he left off, the Bengals get some
more offensive assistance with John Ross recently activated. Ross has speed for
days and will be inserted into the offense this week. With Andy Dalton back
behind center, all Bengals receivers get an uptick. Could be a risky play, but
is definitely worth a look.
Anthony
Miller (CHI) (14%)
The Chicago Bears seemed to have found something in the pass game
these past couple weeks and Anthony Miller appears to have life. Miller had a fabulous
showing on Turkey day and that could again translate this week on Thursday
Night Football. The thought here is that Dallas will attempt to lock down Allen
Robinson leaving Miller to have open looks. Miller is firmly in the high end conversation
this week again.
Zach Pascal
(IND) (17%)
The last time we recommended Zach Pascal off the wire, he disappeared
and left us holding the bag. This time, we are again fearful of the recommendation,
but are forced if TY Hilton again doesn’t suit up. The Colts pass game has been
up and down and will leave a lot of plays on the field, but watching the injury
report for Hilton’s status is key.
On the Radar:
Allen Lazard
(GB) (5%)
Randall Cobb
(DAL) (36%)
Russell Gage
(ATL) (11%)
Darius Slayton (NYG) (27%)
Alex Erickson (CIN) (8%)
Tight-Ends:
Jason Witten
(DAL) (50%)
The tight end position continues to be an issue, but Jason Witten
has again found his way into the stream conversation. As Dallas struggles to
put it all together on offense, facing the Bears still sound defense could give
Witten a shot. Chicago will look to lock down Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup
first, opening the door again for Witten.
Tyler Higbee
(LAR) (11%)
The LA Rams aren’t the team of last season that took the league by
storm, but seeing the tight end position have a bigger role isn’t a surprise.
Last week verse the Cardinals, Tyler Higbee was the feature and rightfully so.
The Cards are the worst in the league at stopping the position, but Higbee
should continue to have target share. Bust factor is bigger than most, but
still good things could be on the docket.
Logan Thomas
(DET) (0%)
With news that TJ Hockenson has been sent to injured reserve, the
next man up should be Logan Thomas. The Lions also have Jesse James on the
roster to help at the position, but Thomas has far better athletic ability and should
be in for all passing downs. This is a desperation addition and nothing more as
the floor is very low.
On the Radar:
Jesse James
(DET) (0%)
Mike Gesicki
(MIA) (19%)
OJ Howard
(TB) (32%)
Tyler Eifert (CIN) (8%)
Dawson Knox (BUF) (6%)
Week 14 Defensive Streams:
Tennessee Titans (30%) – Playing
Oakland
Green Bay Packers (48%) – Playing Washington
Houston Texans (26%) – Playing Denver
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (27%) – Playing Indianapolis
Dallas Cowboys (39%) – Playing Chicago
