With limited weeks left in the fantasy
season, gaining those victories will become that much more important. Flying
high into the fantasy postseason could be the difference in winning and losing.
While playing the matchups are key,
finding weekly traits that effect each player will become paramount. Revenge
games are fantastic opportunities for massive statistical achievement. Follow
us this week and we’ll get you one step closer to glory.
START - GET THEM IN YOUR LINEUP
Quarterbacks:
At this point, you can no longer
ignore what the Lions are doing on offense. Matthew Stafford has been fantastic
and should continue that verse the Raiders on the road. Granted the Lions still
struggle to run the ball, finding creative ways to recreate it through the pass
is now the staple. We really like Stafford in week nine.
Josh Allen (BUF)
This start has a level of fear attached
simply because the Redskins defense isn’t terrible. Looking back to what Josh
Allen has done this season, ball security has been the largest concern. Needed to
clean up those inefficiencies, Allen could expose this defense over the top.
The Bills defense will provide a lot more chances for their offense this week,
hence the backing of Allen again.
Running Backs:
At this point, it’s nearly impossible
to say negative things toward the Packers Aaron Jones. We had major concerns
over his health being the lead back for the entire season, but thus far he’s
held up just fine. With the return of Davante Adams to the lineup, more lanes
could open up in both the run and pass games. Jones should again have a very
sound day.
David Montgomery (CHI)
Some may view this as kneejerk reaction
simply from last weeks contest. While it could be somewhat true, we can’t help
but believe a transition is taking place in Chicago to be that run first
offense. Mitchell Trubisky has been an abomination this year and moving to run
first will be a welcome sight. David Montgomery will pickup where he left off.
Josh Jacobs (OAK)
While it looks like we are
promoting many no brainer starts, we choose to highlight those players that
will have the greatest impact. We had reservations on Josh Jacobs coming into
this season, but at this point we are truly convinced of the skillset. Jacobs
is however dealing with a shoulder injury which could limit the overall day.
Nevertheless, we are loading him up this week again.
Wide Receivers:
The Dallas Cowboys coming off the
bye week and having a sound matchup verse the struggling Giants, Amari Cooper
is poised to take flight. Having two contests of weaker achievement based on
dealing with an injury, Cooper is ready to get back to business. An Obvious
must start most weeks, we love the potential of him being a top end player.
AJ Brown (TEN)
While we continue to preach the Titans
offense with Ryan Tannehill behind center, we love the potential of AJ Brown to
become the favorite target in this offense. This matchup verse the Panthers
does provide the potential for a massive day, as Carolina has issues covering
the deep pass. This start has a level of risk attached, but we’ll take the
chance.
Chris Conley (JAX)
Tight-Ends:
Recent reports showed that TY
Hilton will be sidelined for the next 3-4 weeks to a calf injury leaving the others
on this roster to lift their play. Eric Ebron has been nothing short of a disappointment
this season based on last years numbers. This should be the week Frank Reich
leans on his tight end to make plays against a stout Steelers defense. An
endzone trip is in the cards.
Evan Engram (NYG)
Daniel Jones continues to improve weekly,
and the Giants appear to have a good number of pieces to play with. Evan Engram
will be relied upon to move this offense verse a Cowboys defense that can shut down
the pass. Having been up and down for most of the season, we like Engram to
find pay-dirt this week.
SIT - LEAVE THEM ON THE BENCH
The Indianapolis Colts have been
very strong this season with Jacoby Brissett behind center, but this week much
like last, we can’t see him lighting up the scoreboard. The Steelers defense
has become a solid unit that will force the issue making it hard for Brissett
to find traction. No TY Hilton means the deep shot won’t be there. We are very comfortable
sitting Brissett this week.
Daniel Jones (NYG)
Its not that Daniel Jones hasn’t shown
improvement, but the turnovers continue to be a massive issue for this young
passer. The potential to be playing from behind does leave garbage time points
on the horizon, it’s far too risky to recommend a start here.
Running Backs:
Coach Andy Reid welcomed LeSean
McCoy to the club when he was cut but the Bills, but his leach appears to be
very short. Every time McCoy fumbles the ball of makes a mistake, Reid has
benched this runner for the remainder of the contest. Having a tough matchup
verse the Vikings stout run defense and no Patrick Mahomes, Shady will struggle
in this one.
Carlos Hyde (HOU)
In reviewing the Texans upcoming schedule,
Carlos Hyde will have a very difficult time finding any room from now until the
fantasy championship. All his matchups look to be disastrous for statistical achievement
including this week against the Jags. Hyde will be a must bench for the
reminder of the season.
Chris Carson (SEA)
Perhaps a very unpopular recommendation
this week to bench one of the best runners this season, we have no choice with
how the Buccaneers close gaps in the run game. Chris Carson has made us
believes and he will get the volume again this week, we just see much better
options on the slate. Carson will have to find the endzone to save his fantasy day
this week.
Wide Receivers:
Granted the Browns have a good
matchup verse the Broncos this week in terms of who Denver is playing at quarterback.
However, Odell Beckham Jr will again have a very tough day with all-pro Chris
Harris locking him down. There is potential for OBJ to swing free once or twice,
but we are staying far away this week again for Beckham.
Terry McLaurin (WAS)
One of our favorite rookies going
back to his college days, Terry McLaurin has proven that he is in fact a true
play maker. With that said, this week against a strong Bills secondary and having
Dwayne Haskins as the quarterback, we can’t envision any situation that
McLaurin has a solid day. There is potential for a deep touchdown in this one,
but the risk is far to high.
Courtland Sutton (DEN)
The Broncos Courtland Sutton has
been very strong this season quietly putting up sound statistics. This week and
moving forward will show negatives without a strong quarterback presence.
Denver placed Joe Flacco on injured reserve leaving Brandon Allen to be the
passer. Sutton’s season will fall into the abyss until rookie Drew Lock is
ready.
Tight-Ends:
The Ravens Mark Andrews has been a
welcomed sight at the tight end position this season, but facing the mighty
Patriots defense on Sunday Night, we can’t see him finding much room. The Pats
will be stacking the line to help stop the run attack which should leave
Andrews guarded rather easily. He will have better days.
POTENTIAL BIG DAY – ALL ABOUT THE RISK/REWARD
Quarterbacks:
As the Raiders move forward, their offense has picked up steam and Derek Carr looks poise once again. Oakland would improve with another viable weapon on this offense, but as it stands right now, the potential is high at home verse the Lions. Setting up the play action pass has been a breath of fresh air for Carr, and he should have a very strong day.
Kirk Cousins (MIN)
The Vikings
have been a revelation these past few weeks showing what can be accomplished
when you use everything in your arsenal. Setting everything up second after
feeding the ground game, Kirk Cousins has been the staple of efficiency. Facing
the Chiefs spotty secondary, Cousins should be able to find a lot of room. We
like the odds of Cousins having another big day.
While we understand that
suggesting the start of LeVeon Bell is clearly obvious, we are highlighting the
potential massive showing verse the terrible Dolphins. Bell hasn’t been what
most had expected so far this season, but this will be the coming out party
that everyone has been waiting for. 20 fantasy points should be the floor this
week.
Jordan Howard (PHI)
There is nothing like revenge games to get player juiced up and ready to go. Jordan Howard has done nothing but produce in the league and was shipped out of Chicago at the first opportunity. Latching on with the Eagles, Howard gets his shot to stick it to the Bears with distinction. Get ready for Philly to run the ball quite a bit.

Wide Receivers:
We have preached the integration
of Danny Amendola into this offense, and it finally appears to be the case. The
Lions can’t run the ball whatsoever, and recreating it with short passes will
be the formula moving forward. Amendola is more than capable of playing this
role and will be the common sight again this week.
Alshon Jeffery (PHI)
Much like Jordan Howard, Alshon Jeffery
will be back for revenge against his former club (the Bears) as the Eagles look
to keep pace in the NFC. The Bears defense still holds elite level talent, but
we are invigorated when player faces off against their former clubs. There is
risk here, but we like the odds.
Jamison Crowder (NYJ)
The
New York Jets will have to get back to the drawing board this week and it all
starts with the run and short pass. The clear objective will be getting Sam Darnold’s
confidence back, and who better then Jamison Crowder to help the cause. PPR
points should be plentiful as New York finds a way to roll over the fish.
Tight-Ends:
The
Detroit Lions secondary has seen better days, and this week Darren Waller will
feast over the middle. The Raiders are a team that look to be moving in the
right direction, but Waller is clearly making a name for himself. Waller exploded
two weeks ago on the Packers, and we could see a similar event at home against the
Lions. A very big day is on the docket.
