Here we go, this is the last week
of the fantasy football regular season and setting those lineups after what
transpired on Thanksgiving is paramount. If you gained a good level of points
so far from those Thursday contests, adding to it should be a piece of cake.
For those needing to have a monster
week in hopes to jump into the playoff conversation, we have a list of players
that should be top earners come Sunday. Good luck as we gear up to win that
coveted fantasy title, and we at ADF ride with you all the way to the finals.
START - GET THEM IN YOUR LINEUP
Quarterbacks:
While we’ve had our reservations
on the Jets this season, they appear to have turned a slight corner and should
be solid the next two weeks. Starting off with the Bengals in week 13, most all
play makers should grace your lineup this week. Darnold amassed great points
last week and should continue.
Ryan Tannehill (TEN)
Our affinity for the Titans and
Ryan Tannehill continues to be very strong and we can’t help but think this
week will be another strong showing. Tannehill hasn’t had a game under
20-fantasy points since taking over and should be able to carve up the Colts
defense. With how the Titans playbook has been expanding, Tannehill is a no
brainer.
Running Backs:
While we understand the Jets LeVeon
Bell hasn’t had the best season of his career, this game should bring with it
more statistical achievements. Bell has been sound in fantasy these past few
weeks gaining PPR points while finding the endzone to lift his overall days.
This week verse the Bengals should bring the best out in this offense.
James White (NE)
Its been a far cry from what James
White was able to accomplish last season to this season, but this could be the
contest we see him get back on track. Tom Brady clearly hasn’t played well over
the past couple weeks and injures continue to be an issue on this offense. It
should be the game Coach Belichick gets White back in the mix.
Wide Receivers:
Coming off his injury and looking
to give the Eagles a big lift on offense, Alshon Jeffery is a welcomed sight to
all fantasy owners. Facing the Miami Dolphins this week, this game should act
as a tune up for this offense to get back on track. Carson Wentz has struggled
to find his patch made receiving core but should feed Jeffery this week to gain
that chemistry as they go for the final push.
AJ Brown (TEN)
A receiver that we at ADF have
been giant supporters of since the draft, we are finally witnessing it come together
with Ryan Tannehill throwing the ball. The Titans have used the run game to perfection
and exploited the play action pass to their future star. There is an overall
risk to this start, but we love the odds verse Indy this week.
Terry McLaurin (WAS)
Some may scoff at the notion to
play the Redskins Terry McLaurin this week in Carolina verse the Panthers. Rest
assured it will be a very rough day for the Skins, but our contention rests in
garbage time points. Christian McCaffrey will dominate this Skins defense
leaving Dwayne Haskins to play catchup for the entire contest. McLaurin will be
on the receiving end of passes late in the game.
Tight-Ends:
Yes, we’ve seen the injury report
suggesting that Adam Thielen will return to action, he clearly isn’t 100% and
the Vikings will look again to Kyle Rudolph to help. Playing the Seahawks whose
defense has been susceptible to giving up big plays. The Vikes will start with
the run and hope to use the play action to gain through the air. Rudolph is a
sound mismatch on this Hawks defense.
SIT - LEAVE THEM ON THE BENCH
While its near impossible to bench
the Texans Deshaun Watson, this recommendation is more of a buyer-beware situation.
Watson will be facing the best defense in the NFL to which has shut down some high-end
talent. The greatest concern here is the lack of run game the Texans employ
which could make it easy for the Pats to dissect the pass. Points should be
hard to come by here.
Philip Rivers (LAC)
The Chargers are basically out of
the playoff race and will have to play the Broncos still stout defense. While
Rivers could still move the ball all over the field, his turnovers have become
a major issue in fantasy football. There are much better options on the wire if
you are stuck at the position.
Running Backs:
Yet another player we understand
is near impossible to bench, this again is a warning flag for what could be a
very difficult week. Leonard Fournette has been involved in this offense enough
to gain points, but not enough to be that star player we all require. Facing a
good run defense this week and an offensive system that forces the pass, we
could all be in for a major disappointment.
Carlos Hyde (HOU)
There is no question that the
Texans will try and get their run game going verse the Patriots, we just can’t
see any situation where Carlos Hyde will do damage. For our appetite, we would
ride with Duke Johnson over Hyde for this match and leave Hyde on your bench.
Wide Receivers:
While the Fins DeVante Parker has
been much better this season, this week verse the Eagles should bring him back
down to earth. The Eagles front seven will make for a very tough day on Ryan Fitzpatrick
and the secondary has improved its play these past few weeks. The story for
Parker has been better, but this week won’t be as nice.
Larry Fitzgerald (ARZ)
While playing the Rams the last
few contests has been easier to find traction, we feel the Cardinals Larry
Fitzgerald will again be an after thought on this offense. Likely to face the
talents of Jalen Ramsey, we’d prefer Christian Kirk to be the starting
receiving in this offense over the future hall of famer.
Tight-Ends:
As the Broncos look to play their rookie
passer Drew Lock for the first time, every receiving threat on this offense
should see something of a downgrade. Any player suiting up for their first
showing will struggle to manage anything tangible down field. There is a
massive risk in playing Fant and the Broncos receivers this week.
POTENTIAL BIG DAY – ALL ABOUT THE RISK/REWARD
Quarterbacks:
Not buying the negatives that
Carson Wentz can’t perform back to sound levels as seen in the past, this
matchup and the return of his offensive weapons will be a welcomed sight. The
Eagles will want to spread the field as much as possible to gain the chemistry
as we enter the last portion of the season. Wentz could be in for a massive day.
Jared Goff (LAR)
While we understand that Jared Goff
has been absolutely terrible this season, this could be the week they get back
in the good books. Having an A+ matchup verse a weaker Cardinals defense; this
is the contest the Rams will want to showcase the power of old. It has become a
giant risk to play many Rams players, but pride will be running high after that
beatdown from the Ravens.
Running Backs:
Sticking to our guns as we truly believe
the Skins will use Derrius Guice more as the year comes to a close, this could
be the week they get something sound established. Guice proved he can be
effective when given the opportunity, but the risk here is the game could get
out of hand early limiting the overall carries. Definite high risk, high reward
here.
Derrick Henry (TEN)
Over the years the story has been
the same when discussing the Titans Derrick Henry. When the season enters the
final stages, Henry seems to flip the switch to make this happen. Being an absolute
beast on the field the past four weeks, Henry is again poised to have a monster
showing this week. With Ryan Tannehill behind center, the Titans can now use
all weapons on this offense to help the run more. A huge day is coming once
again.
Wide Receivers:
A fantastic contest on Monday
Night between the Hawks and the Vikings, Russell Wilson will have to spread the
field in hopes to find traction. DK Metcalf should see a number of chances to
make things happen against a defense that has proven to be unreliable at times.
Tyler Locket should get Xavier Rhodes for most of the day leaving Metcalf to potentially
run wild.
Cooper Kupp (LAR)
With the Rams struggles in the
pass game with Jared Goff, Cooper Kupp has also seen his numbers fall by the
wayside. This week is the perfect opportunity to get back on track and lead his
fantasy owners in points at the position. The Cardinals defense has struggled
to stop most anyone through the air, and Kupp should be able to find a lot of
room.
Tight End:
With news that Zach Ertz is
dealing with an injury of his own, Dallas Goedert should take on a bigger role
in this contest. Even if Ertz plays, he could be used more as a decoy leaving
Goedert to feast with lesser coverage. This matchup verse the Dolphins has us
licking our chops at the potential.
