Fantasy Football Week 12 Waiver Wire Targets

If there was a time in finding applicable players to snag off the wire, this would be that week. For most of us, there are a mere two weeks left until the fantasy post season and gaining those wins have become paramount to compete for the title.

The wire has of course become extremely thin and we would advise to play the best your roster has, unless you still have bye week trouble. Some sound matchups do exist on the waiver, so adding one or two pieces could bring you over the top. Crunch time is upon us, let’s get those wins!

Quarterbacks:
Nick Foles (JAX) (32%)
While the return of Nick Foles to the starting role in Jacksonville didn’t go as planned, he did manage to secure a good level of garbage time points to make his day look better than what it was. Heading into this week in yet another important divisional matchup verse the Titians, Foles will have to be on point. If you require a stream quarterback, Foles is a solid answer this week.

Sam Darnold (NYJ) (22%)
Looking to have regained his confidence from seeing ghosts a couple week prior, Sam Darnold has another opportunity to make a statement verse the Oakland Raiders in week 12. Coach Adam Gase was able to adjust his offensive approach to promote more big plays down field. Coming off an impressive showing last week, Darnold is back in the good books for QB streams.

Jacoby Brissett (IND) (38%)
The Colts continue to win games even with the abundance of injuries that have come their way. Jacoby Brissett wasn’t anything spectacular last week but should have a better shot verse the Texans spotty secondary. TY Hilton is trending in the right direction to suit up for this contest which would lift the overall perspectives of Brissett. Still more of a risk then some, he should have a decent day.

On the Radar:
Ryan Tannehill (TEN) (21%)
Daniel Jones (NYG) (29%)
Kyle Allen (CAR) (34%)
Jeff Driskel (DET) (3%)
Mason Rudolph (PIT) (10%)
Ryan Fitzpatrick (MIA) (10%)
Brandon Allen (DEN) (3%)
Dwayne Haskins (WAS) (4%)

Running Backs:
Derrius Guice (WAS) (48%)
We are absolutely flabbergasted to witness the ownership stake still sit under 50% for Derrius Guice. We have been preaching over the past several weeks to hold Guice on your bench as his workload will increase heading into the fantasy playoffs. After showing what he is capable of last week, be sure that most owners will be running to the wire to snag shares. This should be the last time Guice is on our list, and place top priority for his services.

Nyheim Hines (IND) (18%) / Jonathan Williams (IND) (5%)
With news that Marlon Mack will be out with a hand issue for the next several weeks, we have some options with the Colts that could act as the replacement. While most are suggesting Jonathan Williams is the first in line to take the open workload, we caution that fact. Williams larger role is contingent on Jordan Wilkins and his health. For our appetite, especially in PPR formats, Nyheim Hines could be the better pickup overall, but for volume in week 12, Williams should be steady. This backfield has the potential to be a massive let down, buyer beware.

Bo Scarborough (DET) (2%)
When the season began, we were quite shocked to see Bo Scarborough not on an active roster. Granted his skillset is rather limited in the pass game, he does hold strong value as a plowing runner. Seeing his first action last week and finding the endzone in the process, Scarborough should again be leaned upon to help aid the Lions without Matthew Stafford. The Lions have a tasty matchup verse the Redskins leaving great potential for another touchdown for Scarborough. Some level of risk here, but we like the odds.

On the Radar:
J.D McKissic (DET) (21%)
Ty Johnson (DET) (37%)
Raheem Mostert (SF) (15%)
Gus Edwards (BAL) (7%)
Tony Pollard (DAL) (12%)
Darrel Williams (KC) (5%)
Myles Gaskin (MIA) (0%)

Wide Receivers:
Randall Cobb (DAL) (15%)
Yet another player that we’ve been preaching hard is the Cowboys Randall Cobb. Even in that sound evaluation over the last several weeks, his ownership percentage still holds slim. Amari Cooper is dealing with knee and ankle injuries which is forcing him to become the team decoy in the pass game. Michael Gallup has been the primary over the past two weeks with Cobb cleaning up very well. We fully expect yet another contest of great target share for Cobb, so snag him while you can.

Darius Slayton (NYG) (25%)
Coming off the bye week, the Giants got word that Sterling Shepard should return to action placing fear that Darius Slayton won’t see much work. While that thought has truth attached, we feel different at this point. Slayton has proven to have sound chemistry with Daniel Jones and we should continue to see a heaping of targets come his way. While facing the Bears isn’t the best matchup, 10-points could be the floor here.

Mecole Hardman (KC) (33%)
More of a speculative addition this week simply due to the injury to Tyreek Hill on Monday Night, Mecole Hardman could be in for a greater workload if Hill misses time. While we won’t get word before waiver claims enter the system, if may be wise to hold Hardman on your roster just in case. Playing in this offense will always provide a possibility for statistical achievements, and Hardman could be a nice grab this week.

Russell Gage (ATL) (3%)
Much like the others we’ve been suggesting of lower ownership percentage, the Falcons Russell Gage has too been one we really like. Taking over the third receiver duties upon the trade of Mohamed Sanu, Gage’s role increased that much more last week with Austin Hooper on the sideline to injury. Gage had a touchdown called back last week, but could have a sneaky role verse the Buccaneers in week 12. If you’re desperate, Gage could be a huge lift.

On the Radar:
AJ Brown (TEN) (19%)
Hunter Renfrew (OAK) (14%)
Nelson Agholor (PHI) (13%)
Zach Pascal (IND) (36%)
Scott Miller (TB) (0%)
Andy Isabella (ARZ) (1%)
Malik Turner (SEA) (0%)
Devin Funchess (CAR) (6%)

Tight-Ends:
Ross Dwelley (SF) (14%)
With the waiver wire supremely thin, here is another speculative addition based on the health of George Kittle. Ross Dwelley filled in admirably last week finding the endzone twice, being the perfect fill-in tight end. This week could be rather difficult to predict as we won’t have clear word on Kittle until mid-week. If you want to take the chance, Dwelley is a top addition if Kittle sits once again.

Ryan Griffin (NYG) (3%)
The Jets may have found something special with Ryan Griffin in this offense. Having put up very strong performances in three of the last four games, we can no longer ignore the man and preach him as a top flight tight end on the market. Having a very strong matchup this week verse the Raiders, we have no issues recommending Griffin to be a good earner this week.

Dallas Goedert (PHI) (19%)
The Philadelphia Eagles continue to have immense issues in their pass attack with injuries crippling their receiving core. Being forced to play more multi tight end sets, Dallas Goedert will have a role but is limited to target share. This addition may be something of reach, but does hold some value.

On the Radar:
Dawson Knox (BUF) (6%)
Noah Fant (DEN) (16%)
Delaine Walker (TEN) (27%)
Cameron Brate (TB) (2%)
Stephen Carlson (CLE) (0%)
Foster Moreau (OAK) (0%)

Week 12 Defensive Streams:
Cleveland Browns (50%) – Playing Miami
Detroit Lions (8%) – Playing Washington
Tennessee Titians (17%) – Playing Jacksonville
New York Giants (7%) – Playing Chicago
New York Jets (39%) – Playing Oakland
