With
bye weeks in full swing and the player injuries starting to pile up, adjusting
your roster to employ the best for the week will be a challenge. However,
playing the matchup’s while trusting our gut feeling should go a long way to success.
This week shows some wonderful additions off the wire that could make for a
great day. Follow us and we’ll get you those wins.
START - GET THEM IN YOUR LINEUP
Quarterbacks:
Obviously,
the Texans Deshaun Watson is a weekly must start, but this week he could be the
best earner for all quarterbacks. Coming off an incredible showing a week ago,
Watson gets the Chiefs spotty defense that can’t seem to get out of their own
way. Adding to that, in finding Will Fuller with abundance last week, this
offense could be back in business to be that high-octane squad we expected.
Locked and loaded, Watson should have a monster day.
Lamar
Jackson (BAL)
We
have been quite critical of the Ravens Lamar Jackson these past few weeks, but this
contest will bring him back to the good books as he faces the lowly Bengals at
home. Jackson and the Ravens game plan will begin with the run and finish with
the pass, which should lead to at least 30-points on the scoreboard. If the
past is any indication, Jackson will account for multiple touchdowns verse an inferior
club.
Running Backs:
While
preaching the services of the Packers Aaron Jones seems to be a little reactive
based on last week’s showing, we have gained confidence in how Coach Matt LaFleur
has been orchestrating the game plan. Jones was leaned upon heavily against the
Cowboys and should be again this week verse the Lions on Monday Night. Volume
will always be a concern until full consistency is maintained. Nevertheless,
Fire up Jones with great confidence.
Adrian
Peterson (WAS)
Coming
off the waiver wire this week; the Redskins Adrian Peterson may have gotten the
gift of new life now that Coach Gruden has been fired from the team. Placing
Case Keenum back at quarterback will allow the Skins to create the play action
pass with heavy run plays to start. Adding to that, the Skins play the terrible
Dolphins who give up the most to any running backs in the entire league. Old
man Peterson will feast once again.
Derrick
Henry (TEN)
Clearly,
we haven’t been huge supporters of the Titans and their work on offense this season,
this week’s matchup verse the Broncos provides new light for support. Denver gives
up the fourth most to players at the position, and this should be the week the
Titans lean on Derrick Henry most of the game. Taking travel to Mile High will
be a grave challenge, but we love the potential in huge production this week against
a defense that can’t stop the run.
Wide Receivers:
At
this point it’s clear, and everyone can’t ignore the fact the Chris Godwin is a
special talent that is leapfrogging all the productivity on this offense. Coach
Bruce Arians has managed to highlight Mike Evans one week, to only throw
massive targets to Godwin the week after. If history is any indication, this
week should be Evans turn for all the workload, but we can’t move away from Godwin.
Playing across the pond in England may become an issue, we can’t bench Godwin
anymore.
Stefon
Diggs (MIN)
An utter
disappointment is an understatement when discussing the Vikings pass game and
Stefon Diggs. Seemingly being an afterthought most weeks this season, Diggs is
prime for a massive bounce back against the Eagles and their sluggish pass
defense. The Eagles still hold a sound defense that can make plays, but their
secondary is again dealing with a high level of injury. Diggs hasn’t been part
of the plan thus far, but this is the week to get the man involved.
Terry
McLaurin (WAS)
One of our favorite rookies coming out of the NFL draft, the Skins
Terry McLaurin has proven all the scouts wrong as he was supremely overlooked
to lower college production. With Case Keenum back in the lineup, at least more
consistency to getting McLaurin the ball will be on the horizon. Facing the
Dolphins and their shabby defensive unit, we fully expect a career day from
this young talent.
Tight-Ends:
At
times, the Falcons Austin Hooper disappears on this offense which has been a
concern in us preaching the weekly start. This week however has the prospects
of him making big waves against the Cardinals who struggle mightily against
tight ends. When Matt Ryan looks for his big man over the middle, great things
usually happen. Start Hooper this week and don’t look back.
Will
Dissly (SEA)
At
this point it appears the Seahawks have found a true number one tight end on
their roster. Will Dissly has looked fantastic as his role has expanded and
should again feast this week. The Hawks set everything up with the run game
which means Dissly rarely leaves the field of play. Targets will only increase
week-to-week and this man will continue to produce.
SIT - LEAVE THEM ON THE BENCH
With
news that Todd Gurley will not suit up for this contest, great fear has entered
out minds for starting Jared Goff. This offense has struggled at the best of
times and could also be without Brandin Cooks. Granted, Goff does have enough talent
to produce on his own, we aren’t taking the chance this week. The 49ers
defensive line is looking like an elite group in the making and will give Goff
fits this week. Keep him on the bench.
Baker
Mayfield (CLE)
While
we voiced many concerns this offseason to if Baker Mayfield could support the
many talented receivers on this offense, the offensive line inadequacies have
made it worse. Playing at home to the Seahawks could lift this offense quite a
bit, we have no choice but to bench Mayfield for the foreseeable future as he
truly can’t be trusted. Wait for better days.
Running Backs:
Clearly
the Buccaneers want to establish the run game more often these past couple
games, and will again try their best this week. Unfortunately for them, they
face the Panthers defense which has turned a corner again to look like a sound
bunch. Carries have been better in this offense, but given how difficult it will
be to find holes, Jones again should rest on the bench.
Devonta
Freeman (ATL)
Eating
our words is never something we like to do, but in this case, we must be fully transparent.
The Falcons have been a hot mess in the run game and Devonta Freeman looked completely
washed as an NFL player. Long gone are the days of great statistical achievements,
and we can no longer preach the start. Freeman is nothing like he used to be
and should be fixture on the bench for now.
Kenyan
Drake (MIA)
While
we have seen many in the industry talk up the Dolphins running back Kenyan
Drake for this week’s match, we have a completely different opinion. With rumor
that the Fins want to see what they have with backup Mark Walton, Drake will again
take a backseat to the touches. Furthermore, the Skins still hold a good level
of skill on that defensive line which will close all running lanes quick. Drake
will not produce this week.
Wide Receivers:
The
time has come for me to suggest benching one of the better receivers in the
game. Juju Smith-Schuster has gotten no favors this season and this was our
first thought in the offseason. Taking on number one defensive backs while having
backup quarterbacks throwing him the ball, all were a recipe for disaster. Now
with a third string QB ready to take the snaps, Juju should be benched without
a thought.
Robby
Anderson (NYJ)
Many
are excited to see Sam Darnold back behind center, but let me throw caution on
playing Robby Anderson. Yes, Anderson has talent for days, but the rust from
Darnold’s lay-off will be a massive issue for chemistry. Anderson hasn’t seen
many targets in this Adam Gase offense and will be held in check verse the
Cowboys stout unit. Don’t get your hopes up, it will be a bad day.
Marquez
Valdes-Scantling (GB)
With
recent news that the Packers will again be without Davante Adams, the natural
progression is to play the next man up. In this case, Marquez Valdes-Scantling
should be lifted into your lineup, but we simply don’t like the chemistry and
offensive game plan to support MVS. While we understand we could be wrong on
this one, the percentages don’t make us feel comfortable.
Tight-Ends:
At
this point, everyone on this Titans offense is a giant liability and hold no
level of consistency to preach starting. Delaine Walker has been a gem in the
past in garbage time situations, but during the course of the game he can’t be
trusted. We will definitely go with how the past has set this up, bench Walker
this week until greater stats are shown.
POTENTIAL BIG DAY – ALL ABOUT THE RISK/REWARD
Quarterbacks:
There
is nothing like reviewing who the big-time gamers could be, and this week
should be the coming out party for rookie Kyler Murray. The Cardinals have been
decent to start as they workout the changeover in this offense. Facing the
Falcons defense that clearly can’t stop anyone, this has the makings of being a
fantastic day for Murray. We have been in great support of Murray and we are
very comfortable with this start.
Case
Keenum (WAS)
With
a new coach at the helm, and facing the Miami Dolphins this week, a better
fill-in quarterback you won’t find. Case Keenum is a reliable player against weaker
opponents and this game should bring a lot of positives. For any team stuck
with their quarterback on the bye or injured, Keenum is a great stream for week
six.
Running Backs:
While
Mark Ingram has been up and down these past two weeks in terms of fantasy production,
this contest verse the Bengals is a pure domination setup for glories
statistics. Ingram and Lamar Jackson will be on point in the run game creating
giant numbers in the process. Cincinnati literally won’t stand a chance in this
matchup leaving Ingram to be one of the best runners in the league this week.
Chris
Carson (SEA)
Even
as fumbles became a great concern for Chris Carson, coach Pete Carroll laid
massive trust behind his running back last week to the tune of 27 carries. This
week will be much of the same verse a Browns defense that was gashed last Monday
Night. Carson will be utilized heavily to start, and should finish strong. An
endzone trip is nearly a formality.
Latavius
Murray (NO)
This
start is contingent of the injury report for Alvin Kamara. Hearing rumor that
Kamara may not suit up for this match against the Jaguars, Murray would be the
obvious replacement and could put up giant numbers in the process. Murray has
shown skill in the past and will be working with fresh legs this week. If Kamara
sits, look to Murray to be a big producer.
Wide Receivers:
We
will throw out all the fantasy matchup stats here simply because of how badly
the Packers were spread out a week ago. Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup has
massive days on this secondary, and Kenny Golladay should witness the same. Matthew
Stafford has played well to start this season and should see enough to find his
top targets. While we do like the talent from this Packers secondary, Golladay
will feast.
Larry
Fitzgerald (ARZ)
Much
like the Kyler Murray evaluation, the same can be said for the ageless Larry
Fitzgerald. Fitz has been the only constant in this offense so far this season,
and will see his best game this week against the lowly Falcons defense.
Fitzgerald wants nothing more but to see this team succeed, and it should begin
this week with ample production. The Cards may still fall in the victory column,
but their offense should produce.
Tyreek
Hill (KC)
This
suggestion comes with some level of speculation as its still uncertain to if
Tyreek Hill will play. Coming back for that clavicle injury, we would see the
deep shot opened up early and often to gain points on this high-powered Texans
offense. Needing to watch the injury report on Sunday, Hill could be a massive
lift to your fantasy club in week six.
Tight-Ends:
With
Kyle Allen set to play yet another contest for the injured Cam Newton, we love
the prospects of Greg Olsen getting back on track this week in London verse the
Buccaneers. Kyle Allen hasn’t been terrible and should find better lanes to
throw to verse the weak defensive backs in Tampa. Olsen should at least provide
sound PPR points with the potential of finding the endzone this week.
