As the season is beginning to pick up steam, we enter
the week four edition of waiver wire targets. More injuries cloud the landscape
of our teams and finding those solutions will be paramount in finding success.
While many games still remain on the NFL schedule, for some, this could be
crunch time already to save their season. Allow us to assist in in finding the
best possible players to get you a victory this week.

Quarterbacks:
Coming off Monday Night Football, the Chicago Bears found a good
level of passing offense to get Mitchell Trubisky back in the good books. With
starting quarterbacks dropping early this season, Trubisky would bring sound
relief to your club. While there are others making a name for themselves, the
Bears should only continue to improve quicker, leaving Trubisky a top waiver candidate.
Daniel Jones
(NYG) (18%)
The Eli Manning tenure in New York has come to an end thus far,
and rookie Daniel Jones impressed in his first showing of his career. While the
hype might be a little premature for our appetite, Jones did a lot of sound
things to make us take notice. While the injury to star runner Saquon Barkley
will leave a major dent in how this offense progresses, Jones is firmly on the
books as a week four pickup. Temper the expectations as he will see difficult
days.
Kyle Allen
(CAR) (3%)
Perhaps the most impressive performance from a backup quarterback last
week, the Carolina Panthers Kyle Allen flashed huge plays while looking comfortable
and confident in the process. Coach Ron Rivera opened the playbook to this
young man and he took advantage of every shot. With news that Cam Newton has
already been ruled out, Allen should be a high consideration.
Gardner
Minshew (JAX) (8%)
The Jaguars rookie Gardner Minshew has been making headlines over
the past two weeks with his unbelievable play. Minshew has been very impressive
showing fabulous accuracy and poise, lifting the Jags to a win last Thursday.
Moving forward. Jacksonville has no choice but to play Minshew, and a better
outcome to start they couldn’t have expected. Minshew should be a hot commodity
off the wire this week.
On the Radar:
Mason Rudolph (PIT) (12%)
Teddy Bridgewater (NO) (6%)
Jacoby Brissett (IND) (20%)
Running Backs:
With news that super star Saquon Barkley is out for the next four
to eight weeks to a high ankle sprain, the only conceivable option in New York is
back up Wayne Gallman. We take a giant pause to promote Gallman in any fashion,
as he hasn’t proven to be anything spectacular in the past. However, based on circumstances,
Gallman will receive the lion’s share of the workload and should be snagged off
the wire if you have Barkley now on the bench. We have indication that the
Giants will bring in more running backs to help ease the pain, stay tuned.
Justin
Jackson (LAC) (29%)
Some may wonder why the Chargers Justin Jackson is on our list for
potential waiver pickups this week. Simply put, the Chargers faceoff against the
Miami Dolphins and should provide a great deal of offense for all to feast.
Austin Ekeler found himself struggling last week to find room, which should promote
more of a timeshare moving forward. If you are stuck at the position, Jackson
will have a role this week and could pay off big.
Rex Burkhead
(NE) (25%)
The New England Patriots continue to role, but what’s unexpected,
Rex Burkhead has been the primary back in more than one contest so far this season.
Putting up sound numbers elevating him to sit on your roster with the potential
to start, it’s hard to ignore Burkhead at this point. Granted this pick up
comes with a good level of risk, it’s feasible to play Burkhead in great matchups.
James White will be returning to the team this week after missing the Jets game
to the birth of his child, so keep that in mind.
Ronald Jones
(TB) (25%)
Coach Bruce Arians preached more usage for Ronald Jones last week,
and he didn’t disappoint. Jones had his best game of his career and should
become a staple in the backfield for this offense. We still have much concern believing
the usage will be consistent, but at this point, injuries to the position may
force your hand. Jones is a solid pickup bench stash with matchup appeal.
On the Radar:
Jamaal Williams (GB) (9%)
Chris Thompson (WAS) (44%)
Tony Pollard (DAL) (18%)
Jeff Wilson (SF) (5%)
Alexander Mattison (MIN) (20%)
CJ Prosise (SEA) (0%)
Elijhaa Penny (NYG) (0%)
Wide Receivers:
DJ Chark
(JAX) (41%)
The Jaguars DJ Chark has been extremely impressive these last
couple weeks with Gardner Minshew behind center. Chark is carving out a name
for himself in the NFL making us believe he is a true WR-1. If Jacksonville can
get their run game going with any productivity, the play action pass will open
this receiver that much more, making this an ideal pickup. At this point, Chark
is a no brainer addition to your roster.
Phillip Dorsett (NE) (32%)
With Antonio Brown no longer with the club, going back to the same
cast of characters that provide Tom Brady open looks, Phillip Dorsett again
becomes relevant. Dorsett is a quite playmaker that seems to find the endzone
with ease and will continue to be used in this offense. Target share from time
to time is the issue, but given the injury to Julian Edelman, we could witness
more targets this week.
Parris
Campbell (IND) (4%)
With news that TY Hilton is a grave danger of missing this contest
to that injured quad, rookie Parris Campbell instantly becomes the favorite to
showcase his abilities. For those unaware, Campbell is a beast in his own right
holding world class speed and sound strength to make things happen. Coach Frank
Reich will have no choice but to feature Campbell this week if Hilton can’t
suit up.
On the Radar:
Cole Beasley (BUF) (8%)
Randall Cobb (DAL) (30%)
James Washington (PIT) (29%)
Diontae Johnson (PIT) (4%)
Kenny Stills (HOU) (18%)
Adam Humphries (TEN) (6%)
Zach Pascal (IND) (0%)
Darius Slayton (NYG) (0%)
Tight-Ends:
As the Seattle Seahawks attempt to climb back from their disappointing
loss last week to the Saints, tight end Will Dissly looks to have a more prevalent
role. As Seattle continues to adjust their offense to produce more in the pass
game, Dissly could become that safety blanket while being a top redzone target.
Demetrius
Harris (CLE) (1%)
Even though the Cleveland Browns continue to struggle on offense, (which
is a surprise), tight end Demetrius Harris should be considered to be held on
your roster. It may be an unpopular opinion, but we hold Harris in a much
brighter light than his teammate David Njoku. Harris has talent for days and is
a mammoth of a man which will create those mismatches. Don’t overlook Harris
this week as he should become a household name soon.
Lance
Kendricks (LAC) (0%)
While this suggestion is more speculative, the Chargers signed
Lance Kendricks to the roster in hopes to have some level of production from
the position. The risk to start Kendricks at this point is clearly massive, but
given the fact that Miami is their week four opponent, we love the potential.
This could become a sneaky good play this week off the wire.
