With week one in the
books, we hit many successful targets producing sound fantasy points on opening
weekend. Now gearing up for the second week of the NFL season, we again have
our eyes set on selecting the top performers to get us those wins. While nothing
is ever 100% full proof, the dedication to perfection is our mantra. Follow us
and we’ll get you those victories.

Quarterbacks:
Tom Brady (NE)
Its funny how things change in the
matter of weeks, especially when discussing the Patriots Tom Brady. During the
course of the offseason, his fantasy value plummeted with a receiving core
looking to have major holes. Now entering week two stacked with pass catchers,
Brady is lifted back among the top potential point getters. Playing against the
Dolphins who gave up a plethora of points last week, we fully expect all Patriots
to have a role and a big day.
Dak Prescott (DAL)
Never being huge supporters of the
Cowboys Dak Prescott, we have changed our tune for this week as the Boys take
on the Redskins. While we have preached a great appreciation for this defense,
the offensive success was contingent on Prescott leading the charge. With Zeke
Elliott locked in for the long term, nothing can stop this team other than themselves.
Fire up Prescott once again in week two.
Running Backs:
Adrian Peterson (WAS)
With recent news that Washington
hopeful Derrius Guice has once again landed on injured reserve with yet another
knee injury, the aging Adrian Peterson get a massive bump. Peterson has proven
that even with many miles on his tires, he can’t be stopped when that engine
starts to turn. While we understand the Cowboys defense is top notch, Peterson
will have the gift of volume behind him. An endzone trip will happen for AP.
Derrick Henry (TEN)
The Tennessee Titans are a group
that we still have a meek outlook on but have to preach the start of Derrick
Henry this week. The Titans defense is put together very well which allows this
offense more opportunity to make plays. We were very impressed with the
commitment to the run last week and believe this will be the staple for Henry
this season. Henry should have another sound day.
Carlos Hyde (HOU)
Duke Johnson received all the hype
to lead this team in touches as the lead back behind Deshaun Watson but was supplanted
by Carols Hyde in week one. While we feel both backs will have a clear role on
this high-powered offensive unit, Hyde looked fresh, powerful, and quick with
every carry. The only thing standing in his way for success is literally himself.
Hyde is a safe start this week to gain many points.
James White (NE)
While we can preach basically every
player on this Patriots roster this week facing the Miami Dolphins, James White
should be the best bet from the running back position to have a big day. New
England proved they were ready to reassert themselves as the leagues top club,
and a greater gift for an opponent they couldn’t have gotten. White should get
back on track in week two in a very large way.
Wide Receivers:
Jarvis Landry (CLE)
Here we go again with the
suggestion that the Browns Jarvis Landry will be a huge contributor this week
verse the Jets on Monday Night. Clearly there is some fear generating throughout
the masses from their week one outing, we aren’t ready to give up on the point
per reception potential of Landry. Cleveland gets back in the good graces while
their top two receivers eat well.
TY Hilton (IND)
While we had TY Hilton
on the bench last week, he proved that he could ball-out no matter who was
throwing him the ball. Jacoby Brissett looked decent in their near victory verse
the Chargers and will have to feed Hilton if they want to find a W in the win column
this week. Tennessee has a great defense and could shut him down, so there is a
good level of risk to this play. We still like the odds of him finding the
endzone again.
Cooper Kupp (LAR)
While the Rams disappointed
in terms of overall play last week, Cooper Kupp looked great in his cuts and
routes to prove he was over that knee injury. While we could make the case that
all Rams receivers could and should get the start, Kupp has us intrigued to
have a big day with heavy targets coming is way. Going up against the Saints in
a rematch of last year NFC Championship, this contest should have a ton of
points on the board.
Tight-Ends:
Mark Andrews (BAL)
ADF threw great
support behind the Ravens Mark Andrews all offseason and he payed us back with
a great contest in week one. With Lamar Jackson looking to have found that
magic of passing the ball with accuracy and consistency, Andrews should again
be one of the best tight ends on the market. He is a no brainer start for week
two.
TJ Hockenson (DET)
Yet another tight end that we gushed over during the offseason, the Lions rookie TJ Hockenson proved he was worth the price of admission in this new look Detroit offense. With Kenny Golladay and Danny Amendola all having giant roles to help pull double coverage away from all pass catchers, Hockenson will exploit the mismatches every week. Hockenson will continue to show out.

LEAVE THEM ON THE BENCH
Quarterbacks:
Joe Flacco (DEN)
While some may not have Joe Flacco
on their roster at all, for those that do, put him on the bench and leave him
there for the foreseeable future. Denver looked terrible verse the Raiders and
have a lot of refinement to do in this offense. Flacco had flashes late with a
touchdown to Emmanuel Sanders, but this week against the Bears, keep him far
away from your lineup.
Kirk Cousins (MIN)
Even though we support what the
Vikings are doing on offense behind Dalvin Cook, it was clear that the coaching
staff wanted to make Kirk Cousins more comfortable in their first game of the season.
Throwing the ball a mere 10-times wasn’t near enough to provide trust his way
this week. We do believe he will throw a lot more in week two verse the Packers,
but we require more proof to provide support.
Running Backs:
Devonta Freeman (ATL)
From the offseason evaluations, our
thought process believed that the Falcons Devonta Freeman would get back on
track and promote that sound running ability in an offense that is still
stacked. Freeman let all his owners down in week one and has yet another
difficult task playing the Eagles this week. Atlanta looked dysfunctional and
we need to see much more to trust Freeman.
Phillip Lindsay (DEN)
Basically, every player that goes
up against this Bears phenomenal defense not possessing an elite offense, we
must recommend benching them while smiling from the results. Phillip Lindsay,
much like the Broncos offense as a whole, looked awful in week one leaving us
to throw shade. Lindsay is a must bench.
Wide Receivers:
Anthony Miller (CHI)
With many in the industry feeling
this was the year the Bears Anthony Miller would take the next step in his progression;
we weren’t overly convinced and still aren’t entering week two. The Bears offense
didn’t look sound and ready with Mitch Trubisky fading into the night with
great demise. Miller will have his days, but this week again will not be one of
them. He needs to show before we give support.
Christian Kirk (ARZ)
The Arizona Cardinals impressed
with great heart coming back from their first half of shame verse the Lions.
Rookie Kyler Murray found his feet and arm as the game wore on connecting with
Larry Fitzgerald with consistency. Christian Kirk did have a secondary role and
will again be leaned upon this week against the Ravens stout defense. This will
be a tough game and he should be left on the bench.
Tight-Ends:
David Njoku (CLE)
Never being huge supporters of the
Browns David Njoku, we still can’t seem to get on board with the Browns starting
tight end. While we do appreciate his skillset, this week should see much more
commitment to getting Odell Beckham, Nick Chubb, and Jarvis Landry the ball. He’ll
see less targets this week as the Browns figure things out.
POTENTIAL BIG DAY –
ALL ABOUT THE RISK/REWARD
Quarterbacks:
Lamar Jackson (BAL)
Being blown away with how Lamar
Jackson was able to function and throw the deep ball with such accuracy in week
one, we still have some reservation when suggesting he will do that on a weekly
basis. While we are very encouraged, we want to see more to provide a unanimous
endorsement. He should still play well and get you those points with the
potential of being a big performer.
Running Backs:
Jordan Howard (PHI)
Disappointment from the Eagles run
attack and Jordan Howard has left owners running for the hills. We aren’t ready
to throw in the towel on Howard just yet and believe they will establish the
run a lot earlier. Being down by 17-points early to the Skins left Philly to
adjust the game plan. Howard will get touches this week to control the game.
LeSean McCoy (KC)
Many continue to feel that Damien
Williams will be the lead back in Kansas City, we are fully onboard with LeSean
McCoy becoming the biggest producer from this backfield in this offense. Shady
still has plenty left in the tank and with another week of familiarity in this
offense, we expect a very sound day. Finding the endzone should come to pass.
Leonard Fournette (JAX)
The Jacksonville Jaguars again
find themselves in a situation they didn’t want to be in. Again, with no viable
starting quarterback (Nick Foles injured), they will have to lean on the run
game to have any shot at success. Leonard Fournette didn’t show well in week
one as the Jags had the game handed to them. We could witness a very big day here
if they stick to their guns.
Wide Receivers:
Mecole Hardman (KC)
With news that Tyreek Hill is out
for the next four to six weeks, rookie Mecole Hardman is inserted into this offense
with the same role as Hill held. Hardmen has virtually the exact skillset as
Hill and should find it an easy transition to make plays. Don’t let Sammy
Watkins career day fool you, Hardmen will have a role.
Julian Edelman (NE)
Even though Antonio Brown looks to
be suiting up for this contest, reports have surfaced to suggest he required
more study to learn the intricacies. Julian Edelman will once again be a vocal
point for this week and will feast on this poor Dolphins squad. He should be
the leading receiver after all is said and done for the Pats.
Randall Cobb (DAL)
While most of the attention this
week is placed on Amari Cooper being a big benefiter, Randall Cobb is truly
back and will have another strong role in week two. We absolutely loved when
Cobb found his way to Dallas, as he provides this offense something they haven’t
had in a long time. A true slot presence with big play ability, Dak Prescott
will again spread the ball around. Cobb is a sneaky smart play.
Tight-Ends:
Vance McDonald (PIT)The Pittsburgh Steelers looked terrible last week and will have to
go back to the drawing board for this upcoming match. While setting up the run
game will be paramount for success, getting others involved to take pressure
off of Juju Smith-Schuster is just as important. Vance McDonald needs to prove
he can hold onto the ball, but should see much more in the form of targets.
Risk-reward is the notion here.
