GET THEM IN YOUR LINEUP
Quarterbacks:
Lamar Jackson (BAL)
While this won’t be a constant as
we move forward this season, we must preach starting the Ravens Lamar Jackson
for week one. Facing off against the Dolphins, in what could be wet conditions,
this contest has the makings of being run heavy which will favor Jackson and
the Baltimore running game. This should be a slam dunk for fantasy production
against a weak Miami defense.
Drew Brees (NO)
The Monday night double header
begins with the Saints and the Texans. While Drew Brees is virtually a must
start every week, we really love the potential for massive production against
this Texans secondary. The Saints will be ready to roll in what could be a
shootout of sorts and Brees will be a large earner. Start with extreme
confidence.
Jared Goff (LAR)
If you have followed our offseason
evaluations, this won’t be much of a surprise. We are all in on Jared Goff this
season and truly believe he will flourish in most contests. Taking travel to
Carolina amidst hurricane Dorian slamming the coast, everything looks clear in
terms of weather and the Rams should put on a show. We aren’t overly convinced
that the Panthers defense will be vastly improved, so start Goff and don’t look
back.
Running Backs:
Mark Ingram (BAL)
Much like our evaluation for Lamar
Jackson, we are over the moon for the potential output form Mark Ingram in a
Ravens uniform. Baltimore ran the ball over 500 times last season and should
again be the staple of this offense. We could easily envision 20-25 carries for
Ingram, going for over 100 yards and at least one touchdown.
Leonard Fournette (JAX)
Many have jumped off the Leonard
Fournette bandwagon, but we are still here preaching his potential. As the
Jaguars signed Nick Foles to help create anything resembling a pass attack in
Jacksonville, Fournette will have a giant role in controlling the clock to keep
the ball out of Patrick Mahomes hands. 100-plus yards and an endzone trip isn’t
out of the question here.
Phillip Lindsay (DEN)
With all the turmoil surrounding
the Raiders and Antonio Brown, the Broncos are licking their chops at the
opportunity to take advantage of all that dysfunction. Phillip Lindsay will
enjoy all the work that he can handle and should find gapping holes in this
Raiders secondary. If you could start Lindsay twice in your lineup, we would
definitely recommend it.
Wide Receivers:
Jarvis Landry (CLE)
The entire offseason
has seen most sing the praise of Odell Beckham Jr being the Browns leading
receiver with potential to break NFL records. Let’s not forget about Jarvis
Landry and his elite ability which will be showcased on Sunday. Landry will act
as the safety blanket for Baker Mayfield seeing lesser coverage come his way.
While Beckham Jr will have monster games, Landry will be a season long steady
earner for this team. Start Landry this week and laugh at all those who over
looked the man.
Amari Cooper (DAL)
The Dallas Cowboys
averted disaster when Zeke Elliott found his way back to the team with a new
lucrative contract extension. With that coming to pass, Amari Cooper’s value
again lifted extremely high as the play action pass will be a thing of beauty
in Dallas. We have always been fans of Cooper, but this season should be a fun
one to watch.
Larry Fitzgerald (ARZ)
With Larry Fitzgerald
defying father time, this week we should witness what will come to pass with
this Cardinals offense. Behind rookie Kyler Murray, we have no fear that
Fitzgerald will have a very strong contest with the potential at finding
pay-dirt. There is a level of risk here, but we are comfortable to suggest
it.
Tight-Ends:
Mark Andrews (BAL)
Basically, we are recommending
most Ravens to go off this week, but with how this offense is built, heavy run
and the short pass will dominate the plan. Mark Andrews will feast on a line
backing core that literally has no noteworthy names to stop him. Double digit
fantasy points will transpire.
Darren Waller (OAK)
With Antonio Brown no
longer on the club, the Raiders and coach Jon Gruden will be scrambling to
adjust their game plan leaving Darren Waller a massive benefiter. Waller has
made waves this offseason and will be thrust into this one with a potential
heavy workload. There is risk attached here, but we would take the shot.
SIT -
LEAVE THEM ON THE BENCH
Quarterbacks:
Sam Darnold (NYJ)
While its clear that many like
what the Jets have done this offseason for this offense, we must place Sam
Darnold on our bench for week one going up against the Bills stout defense.
LeVeon Bell should be the vocal point for the game plan leaving Darnold to have
a relatively slack day. His time will come, but not this week.
Running Backs:
Kenyan Drake (MIA)
The Baltimore Ravens again have
recreated the defense to look fast and punishing which has been a common thread
over the years. As the Dolphins look to be in full tank mode, the only thing
saving players like Kenyan Drake is garbage time points. This game should get
out of hand early, leaving a late fourth quarter touchdown possible. However,
we aren’t willing to bet on it. Keep him on the bench.
Damien Williams (KC)
We weren’t on the Damien Williams
train, and still will not endorse for week one. With the arrival of LeSean
McCoy to the club, the value week-to-week in our eyes is slim until we see
proof of usage. It surely doesn’t help that the Chiefs take travel to Jacksonville
and will be hard pressed against this elite defensive unit. Keep him on the
bench at least for week one.
Wide Receivers:
DJ Moore (CAR)
Even though we still have a great
appreciation for Cam Newton, we must recommend leaving DJ Moore on the bench as
the Panthers face off verse one of the better secondaries in the NFL. Now being
the team’s true number one target, this won’t be the day he shines.
TY Hilton (IND)
Before the season began, we had TY
Hilton as one of our favorite players at the receiver position. Now with Andrew
Luck no longer an NFL quarterback, we are back to debating Hilton on a weekly
basis. Even though the Chargers have issues on the defensive side (injuries),
its out of straight fear that Jacoby Brissett won’t find Hilton with
consistency.
Tight-Ends:
Delanie Walker (TEN)
Almost being completely off the
Titans support train, we must caution the play of Delanie Walker. Coming off
his season ending injury, it appears he has passed the test and will suit up.
This will be a monster risk play and we can’t endorse it whatsoever.
POTENTIAL BIG DAY –
ALL ABOUT THE RISK/REWARD
Quarterbacks:
Jimmy Garoppolo (SF)
We continue to see the masses
question the 49ers starting pivot and rightfully so. Jimmy Garoppolo hasn’t
done near enough to prove his doubter wrong, but we could see it happen this week
verse the Buccaneers. If you are playing swapping quarterbacks this season,
Garoppolo could have a very big day as the 49ers start to role.
Running Backs:
Duke Johnson (HOU)
Always being supporters of Duke
Johnson, we finally will see his arrival to the high-end conversation. Now
playing on a team that is loaded with talent and will expel his skill, Johnson
will have every opportunity to prove his worth. We can easily see 20 touches
for Johnson against the Saints.
Chris Carson (SEA)
We absolutely love what the
Seahawks have done with their roster and truly fell they are a dark horse to
make massive waves in the NFC. With Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf ready to blow
the top off of defenses, there is no situation where any defense can stack the
box on Seattle. Playing at home against a vulnerable Bengals squad, Carson eats
his dinner and licks the plate.
Derrius Guice (WAS)
The wait will finally be over for
Derrius Guice to showcase his ability after missing his entire rookie season to
injury. Washington invested a great deal into the young man and will provide
every shot for him to make plays. While this week’s matchup isn’t glorious,
Guice should have a sound day and could rack up garbage time points to help his
case.
Wide Receivers:
Chris Godwin (TB)
As the 49ers continue
their rebuilding ways, Chris Godwin should feast off of lesser coverage to his
direction with Mike Evans pulling all of Richard Sherman. Tampa Bay is a very
interesting group and will be something to watch. Godwin should flash this week
in a supportive role to Evans.
DeSean Jackson (PHI)
There`s nothing like a home coming
and a revenge game of sorts for DeSean Jackson. Jackson never wanted to leave
Philadelphia and will show the league he is still the deep burner we all knew. Now
back with the Eagles against one of his former clubs, Jackson will find the
endzone at least once.
Tight-Ends:
Hunter Henry (LAC)
The return of Hunter Henry from
his lost season and no Antonio Gates to stand in his way, we will finally see
what this man can accomplish. Henry is a very gifted player but has been
forgotten over the course of his recovery. Get ready for Henry to ball-out on
Sunday.
TJ Hockenson (DET)
As the Detroit Lions look to make
noise in the NFC south, TJ Hockenson will enjoy a massive role under Matt
Patricia, much like Rob Gronkowski had in New England. Patricia is trying his
best to recreate the Patriot way in Detroit, and believe us when we say,
Hockenson should be a big part of that. We would like to see it on the field
for confirmation, but we will already preach it for week one.
