PLACE YOUR BETS!!! Welcome to the conference
championships! This is the last week of football before we know who will
challenge for the coveted Vince Lombardi Trophy and NFL supremacy. Last week
ADF stumbled in our predictions only securing one of four contests, missing the
.500 mark by a mere single point in the Saints game. Still housing a season
record above 50%, we were able to offset our losses with pervious winnings.
This week sees the best in the league ready to take battle in what should be
very entertaining football. Offensive fireworks should be on the menu as all 4
teams held top flight statistics during the regular season. Vegas has placed
tight spreads on both games in hopes to steal money from the betting public. ADF
looks to be perfect to secure high dollars this weekend, good luck.

Opening up championship Sunday, the Rams take travel
to New Orleans to face off against the Saints for rights to go to the Super
Bowl.
The Rams played very well in their victory against the
Cowboys last week, but it wasn’t the way most had envisioned. Coach McVay
utilized his recently signed backup running back (CJ Anderson) to perfection
creating a power run scheme that Dallas was unable to stop. Wondering if
Anderson will again have a feature role should surly keep the Saints guessing.
These teams met back in week 9 where the Rams found themselves on the losing
side of things, dropping that contest by 10 points, even though Jared Goff was
masterful throwing for nearly 400 yards and 3 touchdowns. LA will have to play
mistake free football offensively while hoping the defense can step up to the
challenge.
The Saints come into this match having a slight scare
from the Eagles, having to come back from 14 points down early to virtually
dominate the rest of the game. Coach Payton will take a page out of their week
9 drumming of the Rams where Drew Brees was practically perfect throwing for
350 yards and 4 touchdowns. Super star Michael Thomas feasted on the Rams
secondary for over 200 yards in that contest, though be it without Aqib Talib
on the field. The Saints will undoubtedly like to set up the run attack early
to fix the tone to enhance their play action pass later in the game. Both
defenses have been somewhat underwhelming this season leaving another shootout
on the docket.
This game could literally go either way, but siding
with the home team is typically the default way to go. In this case, the Saints
are the more experienced unit in playoff atmospheres with Sean Payton and Drew
Bress having battle scars from previous years knowing what it takes to win.
While we like the Saints to go all the way, we’ll error on the side of caution
believing this one will be decided by a field goal.

Headlining game two of championship Sunday, The mighty
Patriots find themselves in a situation that is somewhat foreign in that they
must travel away from Gillette Stadium to stamp their ticket to the Super Bowl.
The New England Patriots once again reminded the
viewing public that playoff experience is unquestionably more important than
regular season perceptions. The Patriots had somewhat of an up and down season
leaving most (including us) to devalue the reign believing New England was
indeed on the down trend. Eating our words and witnessing an absolute dictating
performance, the Patriots made quick work of the Chargers behind their stellar
run attack and short pass game. These teams also met previously back in week 6
in Boston where Brady was able to orchestrate the victory by a mere 3 points.
That contest saw little defense which should again be the expectation. Bill
Belichick will have something special waiting for Patrick Mahomes and the
Chiefs on Sunday.
While New England has been in this game many times,
this will be the first time the Chiefs have tasted AFC Championship football
since 1993 verse the Buffalo Bills. Arrowhead stadium should become an absolute
madhouse with fans breaking sound records, as they witness potential NFL MVP
Patrick Mahomes lead the way. Andy Reid doesn’t have the best record in his
coaching career in playoff matches of this magnitude, but he finally has a team
that can take him back to the big dance. Both defenses haven’t shown anything
spectacular this season leaving the door open for another shootout. The Chiefs
will certainly keep the pedal to the floor in hopes to generate a big lead to
not rely on that leaky defensive unit.
While Patrick Mahomes is a super star in the making
and seemingly unshakeable, this is the biggest game of his young career and we
wonder if the pressure will get to him. Tom Brady is the ultimate professional
and completely battle tested showing no sign of give up even in the most
extreme circumstances. The smart bet would be to side with the Patriots in this
one, but playing away from home should bring a new dynamic that is pushing us
to take the Chiefs high octane offense. We will gamble and bet our money on the
Chiefs going to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1970.
