NFL Week 17 Point Spread Picks

PLACE YOUR BETS!!! With the final week of the regular season upon us, typically it’s the most difficult week to pick verse the spread with meaningless contests filling the slate. ADF got back on track last week like we promised hitting a whopping 69% winner stake to load the bank account. While week 17 will provide its challenges to secure more funds, we feel very good about who we peg as winners. Its been a great season and we look to build our overall record for the year. Good luck and Happy New Year…

NFL WEEK 17 – Predictions (Projected odds makers @ December.29.2018 – 12:00PM EST)

Sunday Dec.30.2018

William Hill -6

Not many games have implications such as this one, while the Browns have been eliminated from playoff contention, the Ravens need this contest to secure a berth in this year’s post season. The Ravens are always very tough at home and are coming off a solid victory against the Chargers last week. Running the ball and time of possession will again dictate this one as Lamar Jackson looks to lead the charge. Baker will try his best to play spoiler as he would like nothing more than to kick out a division rival. With that said, the Ravens will give it everything they have on Sunday.
BAL covers the spread @ -6 CLE 24 BAL 26 (L)

Miami @ Buffalo (Favorite)
Westgate -5.5
Caesar’s -5.5
William Hill -5.5
Wynn -5.5
Unibet -5.5
SportSelect -4.5

In a meaningless contest between the Bills and the Dolphins in New Era Field, the Bills will surly want to win this contest for their long-time warrior Kyle Williams as he has announced his retirement after this game. With Coach Gase basically on his way out of Miami and the Bills preparing for next season, this contest could literally go either way. Buffalo should win this match but a field goal sounds more appropriate.
BUF doesn’t cover the spread @ -5.5 MIA 17 BUF 42 (L)

Philadelphia (Favorite) @ Washington
Westgate -7
Caesar’s -7
William Hill -7
Wynn -7
Unibet -6.5
SportSelect -6.5

With playoffs on the line and a must win needed from the Eagles to get back to the playoffs in defense of their Super Bowl trophy, Philly should come out guns-blazing. The Eagles will need a victory and some help with Minnesota standing in their way. Getting the job done on the home front is first priority for the Eagles and Nick Foles should be able to move the ball on a depleted Redskins unit. Playing in Washington does bring some concern for this spread while journeymen Josh Johnson rallies to keep a spot on this team for next season. Philly will win this game, but we caution the spread.
PHI doesn’t cover the spread @ -7 PHI 24 WAS 0 (L)

Detroit @ Green Bay (Favorite)
Westgate -8
Caesar’s -7.5
William Hill -8
Wynn -8
Unibet -7.5
SportSelect -7.5

Aaron Rodgers showed his greatness last week in a fantastic comeback victory to the lowly New York Jets in overtime. With both these clubs playing for pride, Rodgers should want to end the season on a high note in front of the home town crowd. Matthew Stafford looked completely dejected in last weeks press conference and would want nothing more than for this season to conclude. The Lions continue to chug along with mediocrity and will find it difficult to muster anything in this one at Lambo Field.
GB covers the spread @ -7.5 DET 31 GB 0 (L)

Jacksonville @ Houston (Favorite)
Westgate -6.5
Caesar’s -6.5
William Hill -6.5
Wynn -7
Unibet -6.5
SportSelect -6.5
The Jaguars played fairly decent last week against a Dolphins club that proved they are nothing more than a .500 team under coach Gase. Houston clinched a spot in the post season last week but could entertain a home date in the first round of the playoffs if they can get past the Jags in this match. Jacksonville put Blake Bortles back under center last week as the Cody Kessler experiment failed as most expected. Houston is the better team without question at this point, but Jacksonville would love to end on a high. Houston wins this game but wont cover.
HOU doesn’t cover the spread @ -7 JAX 3 HOU 20 (L)

Oakland @ Kansas City (Favorite)
Westgate -14
Caesar’s -14
William Hill -14
Wynn -14
Unibet -13.5
SportSelect -13.5

This contest should’ve been nothing other than a rest for all the Chiefs offensive talents. Now after dropping the last two games, Patrick Mahomes will have to lead his team to victory to secure home field advantage throughout the playoffs. With the Chargers right on their heels, we fully expect the Chiefs to come out firing on all cylinders. In our time picking against the spread, covering 14 points is a massive task that is rarely achieved from any team, the Chiefs will want to end this game very quick. The Raiders have found ways to move the ball and could put points on the board if Kansas City allows them to hang around. Its our contention that Andy Reid will want a big lead by half time to close out home filed.
KC covers the spread @ -13.5 OAK 3 KC 35 (W)

Chicago @ Minnesota (Favorite)
Westgate -5.5
Caesar’s -5.5
William Hill -5
Wynn -5.5
Unibet -5.5
SportSelect -4.5

The Minnesota Vikings season comes down to one game amidst the high expectations as they host the Bears and their high-powered defense. Vegas believes we will get the good Kirk Cousins in this one providing nearly a touchdown spread to their name. The Bears still have something to play for as they could receive the first-round bye if they in fact win and get help from a Rams loss. Either way, Minnesota will have to claw and grab at every opportunity to come out victorious in this one. Even if they win, the spread won’t be met.
MIN doesn’t cover the spread @ -5.5 CHI 24 MIN 10 (W)

NY Jets @ New England (Favorite)
Westgate -13.5
Caesar’s -13.5
William Hill -13.5
Wynn -13.5
Unibet -13.5
SportSelect -13.5

The Patriots and Tom Brady have importance to this contest as they can still achieve a first round bye if they come away with the win. The Jets on the other hand have been proving that rookie Sam Darnold is up to the challenge against any team flashing signs of greatness. The Patriots are incredible against rookie quarterbacks at home but will be tested from Darnold. The way that Gronk and Brady have preformed these last couple weeks is raising alarm bells about the inevitable decline. While the Patriots will come away with the win, the spread will be ruined in garbage time much like last week.
NE doesn’t cover the spread @ -13.5 NYJ 3 NE 38 (L)

Carolina @ New Orleans (Favorite)
Westgate -7
Caesar’s -7
William Hill -7
Wynn -7
Unibet -6.5
SportSelect -7.5

The Saints were again put to the test last week verse the Steelers but found good fortune by winning with a field goal. The Panthers are in season shutdown mode and will again be in tough to provide anything of value. With nothing to play for in this match, Teddy Bridgewater will get the start to try and showcase his abilities for next season. Even with Teddy leading the way and backups headlining the roster, the Saints should be able to come away with the win. With that said, covering the spread could be difficult as garbage time points could be plenty from Christian McCaffrey.
NO doesn’t cover the spread @ -7 CAR 33 NO 14 (W)

Dallas @ NY Giants (Favorite)
Westgate -6.5
Caesar’s -6
William Hill -6
Wynn -6
Unibet -6.5
SportSelect -6.5

We had to take more than one glace at this spread as Vegas has provided nearly a touchdown spread for the Giants as the Cowboys are expected to rest their starters with nothing to gain in this match. Rookie Saquon Barkley will continue his fabulous season proving he was the best player in last years draft securing the offensive rookie of the year award. This spread is a massive trap from Vegas to bring the money line to New York with the possibility of the Cowboys to sit their starters. Coach Garrett said he would treat this like every other game, but its difficult to predict at this point. Either way, a touchdown for New York is tough to envision.
NYG doesn’t cover the spread @ -6.5 DAL 36 NYG 35 (W)

Cincinnati @ Pittsburgh (Favorite)
Westgate -14.5
Caesar’s -14.5
William Hill -14.5
Wynn -14.5
Unibet -14.5
SportSelect -14.5

With their playoff lives on the line, the Steelers will have to win this contest and receive some help to find their way into the post season. The Bengals are a team that have been in shutdown mode for the last several weeks and will just want to end this contest to begin their offseason. Pittsburgh is notorious in playing down to their competition and could again in this one. With that said, the urgency to win and scoreboard watch will be the way this day goes for all Steelers fans. Pittsburgh will win this match and should be able to cover quite easily. Garbage time points could ruin this spread, but we will bite.
PIT covers the spread @ -14.5 CIN 13 PIT 16 (L)

Atlanta (Favorite) @ Tampa Bay
Westgate -2.5
Caesar’s -2
William Hill -2
Wynn -2
Unibet -2.5
SportSelect -0.5

One of the most meaningless contests on the Sunday slate belongs to the Falcons and the Buccaneers. Both teams have nothing to play for other than pride and draft placement. Matt Ryan would like to end on a high note, so the media won’t begin the questioning process about which direction Atlanta might go in the near future. The Bucs players have a lot more to play for as many players will be looking to prove their worth including Jameis Winston. This could be a huge letdown for Atlanta.
ATL doesn’t cover the spread @ -2.5 ATL 34 TB 32 (W)

LA Chargers (Favorite) @ Denver
Westgate -6
Caesar’s -6.5
William Hill -6
Wynn -6.5
Unibet -6.5
SportSelect -6.5

Much like the Chiefs, the Chargers have home field advantage on the line as they need to get past the Broncos while seeing the Chiefs drop their contest to leap frog them in the standings. Denver’s season has been nothing short of a disaster as the Case Keenum signing looks to be a failure, while Philip Rivers and the Bolts gear up for a playoff run that could end in the Super Bowl. With nothing to play for, the Broncos will be in tough to provide anything on the field.
LAC covers the spread @ -6 LAC 23 DEN 9 (W)

San Francisco @ LA Rams (Favorite)
Westgate -10.5
Caesar’s -10.5
William Hill -10.5
Wynn -10.5
Unibet -10.5
SportSelect -9.5

The LA Rams didn’t think they would’ve found themselves playing an important game in week 17 after being so dominate over the course of the season. Still needing to beat the 49ers to secure the number two overall seed, the Rams will look to score points in bunches but again without Todd Gurley. The Game plan should mirror that of last week as LA went run heavy with CJ Anderson. San Francisco has played better these last few weeks and could compete early. This spread seems a little high for our liking as garbage time points could destroy this outlook. We have no choice but to side with the Rams at home.
LAR covers the spread @ -9.5 SF 32 LAR 48 (W)

Arizona @ Seattle (Favorite)
Westgate -13
Caesar’s -13.5
William Hill -13.5
Wynn -13.5
Unibet -12.5
SportSelect -13.5

Russell Wilson and the Seahawks have proven that there are a much better team then most believed. Pegged to be a colossal letdown at the start of the season, Seattle will secure the 5th seed in this year’s playoffs. The Cardinals have been rumored to be preparing the pink-slip for their first-year head coach after this match leaving Arizona’s players to have nothing to play for. Seattle will ride into the post season on a high.
SEA covers the spread @ -12.5 ARZ 24 SEA 27 (L)

Indianapolis (Favorite) @ Tennessee
Westgate -3.5
Caesar’s -3
William Hill -3.5
Wynn -3.5
Unibet -3.5
SportSelect -3.5

Still having a Sunday Night contest in week 17 (something that isn’t normal for the last week of the season) the Titans and the Colts both need to win to make it into the post season. With Marcus Mariota dealing with more injures, but riding Derrick Henry on the ground, Indy will have their hands full in that regard. Andrew Luck and the Colts have played far better at home than on the road, but they should have more than enough to compete in this one. Andrew Luck needs to prove he can provide in big games and we believe he will.
IND covers the spread @ -3 IND 33 TEN 17 (W)

Week 17 Record: 8-8 (.500)

In the first 11 weeks of the regular season, the Chiefs found themselves to be men playing amongst boys racking up 9 victories while only losing to the Patriots and the Rams. In both their losses, the Chiefs still showed great sk
