WELCOME TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP!!! It has finally arrived; the
2018 fantasy football championship game is upon us. If you happen to be one of
the lucky managers preparing for this showdown, you could be in a world of hurt
literally after reviewing the injury reports from Friday. Some of the top producing
players may not be healthy enough to suit up for this week’s contests leaving
you in limbo. With that said, hopefully adequate depth was held on your bench
to help supplant these potential losses.
This will be the last edition of fantasy
football lineup advice for yet another season but stay tuned for big things coming
from ADF as there is no offseason for us. Good luck and we hope to see you all
hoist that coveted championship trophy.

START - GET THEM IN YOUR LINEUP
Quarterbacks:
Russell Wilson (SEA)
We have been preaching Russell Wilson quite a bit these last few
weeks and will again for the final contest. Wilson has a prime showdown against
the Chiefs which should be something of a point filled competition. The Chiefs
still struggle to stop quarterbacks and Wilson will give them a run for their
money. Russell will provide in the most important fantasy week.
Mitchell Trubisky (CHI)
The Chicago Bears look to be the real deal carried by their
defense with a sprinkle of magic from their second year pro Mitchell Trubisky. Taking
travel to San Francisco could limit the overall output for Mitchell, but we are
banking on the Bears offense dominating for much of this one. The 49ers have improved
over the last two games at home but will be put in terrible situations from
this great defense. Trubisky will capitalize on the opportunity.
Running Backs:
Joe Mixon (CIN)
Over the last two games, the Bengals have gone super run heavy
feeding Joe Mixon a whopping 53 times on the ground, and there is little to
suggest that won’t be the case again this week. Facing the Browns who give up
the 8th most to fantasy runners, Mixon will again see at minimum 25
touches overall and will find the endzone.
Nick Chubb (CLE)
On the other side of the field in the Browns/Bengals contest, Nick
Chubb himself will enjoy a beauty of a matchup as Cincinnati gives up the most
to running backs. Since the Browns traded Carlos Hyde to the Jaguars at the
trade deadline, Nick Chubb has piled up 121.52 PPR fantasy points in that span
literally taking over games on the ground. In a must win for Cleveland to keep
their playoff hopes alive, Chubb will have a massive role.
Phillip Lindsay (DEN)
Even though the Broncos playoff aspirations have fallen by the
wayside, Phillip Lindsay has put together a phenomenal campaign that has
granted him a spot in the pro bowl. Facing the Raiders on Monday Night, Denver
will have reservations on dropping a very winnable contest as pride is on the
line. Lindsay will see the ball a great deal and should find pay dirt yet again.
Wide Receivers:
Robert Woods (LAR)
With Patrick Peterson more than likely shadowing Brandin Cooks for
most of the afternoon, Robert Woods should be able to find room consistently to
roam free. Adding to that, Todd Gurley could find himself on the sidelines for
this match due to injury, leaving the Rams to throw more often to generate points.
Woods could carry your team at the position this week.
Robby Anderson (NYJ)
When Sam Darnold is behind center for the Jets, Robby Anderson
just seems to put up points in bunches. Robby has averaged a very healthy 17.24
PPR points in the last two weeks and should be able to find room on this Green
Bay secondary which gives up the 4th most to receivers. If you have
an injury at the position, Anderson should be able to help you get through.
Amari Cooper (DAL)
Seeing one of the worst games statistically since coming over to
the Cowboys, Amari Cooper has a glorious opportunity to rebound and put up at minimum
15 fantasy points in the finals. While the Bucs held their own last week in
Baltimore, Dallas will be ready after falling on their face verse the Colts
while being shutout. Deep shots will be aplenty in this one for Cooper.
Tight-Ends:
Jared Cook (OAK)
With the tight-end position an absolute crap-shoot this season, Jared
Cook has the best opportunity to provide a great deal of production. The
Broncos defense isn’t the same without Chris Harris manning the backend, leaving
the entire Denver defense susceptible. Oakland will be passing early and often,
and Cook should be a top producer this week.
SIT - LEAVE THEM ON THE BENCH
Quarterbacks:
Matthew Stafford (DET)
To conclude a horrible fantasy campaign from the Lions Matthew
Stafford, we have placed him on the bench and left him there for the last five
weeks and have no reason to take him off now. If you made the finals streaming quarterbacks
this season, we must throw the white flag and tell you to look elsewhere this
week. The Lions are playing for the offseason and Stafford will throw up
another dud.
Jameis Winston (TB)
The Bucs continue to show that they can compete but can’t seem to
take everything over the top. Jameis has been a very sound matchup quarterback
this season, but this week will not be the same. The Cowboys return home angry
after last weeks contest and should put a licking on Tampa Bay. Giving up the 9th
fewest to quarterbacks, Jameis should struggle to throw more than one touchdown
pass.
Running Backs:
Dion Lewis (TEN)
Over the past three weeks, the Titans finally realized who should
carry the load from the backfield. Trying for far too long to continue to feed
Dion Lewis was absolutely the wrong move as he is far more effective as the
change of pace back. Lewis could have a role for PPR formats but will struggle
to generate anything more than 8-10 points on Sunday. This is Henry’s backfield
now.
Melvin Gordon (LAC)
While most Melvin Gordon owners were extremely excited to see the prospects
of him suiting up this week, we aren’t as pumped as the rest. Gordon is never a
must bench, but this could be as close as it gets. Coming off that knee injury
and having no real indication that he will return to his regular workload; this
play has bust written all over it. Gordon could save his day with a touchdown scamper
but seeing more than 13-15 points is a stretch in our minds. Bust factor is
real.
Wide Receivers:
DJ Moore (CAR)
Dante Pettis (SF)
The 49ers may have found gold with this year’s rookie Dante Pettis
as he’s turned in games of the impressive variety. This week however will be a difficult
task to muster anything of value verse the Bears defense that should be able to
shut down everything offensively for San Fran. Pettis undoubtedly did his job
for your club in matchup play, but this week he shouldn’t be removed from your
bench.
Tight-Ends:
Kyle Rudolph (MIN)
When the season began, we at ADF were extremely high on the
prospects of Kyle Rudolph being a top flight tight-end, to which he started
that way. As the season progressed, Rudolph has seen his target share decrease
to the tune of being an afterthought in this offense. Kyle always possesses
touchdown appeal, but even that has been difficult to find in the last many
weeks. Keep Kyle on the bench if he hasn’t been dropped on the waiver already.
POTENTIAL BIG DAY – ALL ABOUT THE RISK/REWARD
Quarterbacks:
Tom Brady (NE)
The New England Patriots and Tom Brady have seen their share of
offensive struggles as the season has moved forward but facing the Bills at
home in week 16 coming off back-to-back losses, Brady could be primed for a bounce
back. Even as the Bills give up the fewest points to the position, Brady has
dominated Buffalo in his career, and when was the last time we’ve seen New
England lose three in a row. We actually believe with the loss of Josh Gordon to
more league discipline could revive this offense using key players from the past
that made them successful. Tom should be able to generate 20 points on the day.
Baker Mayfield (CLE)
Feeling dangerous could be an understatement after this contest is
complete for Baker Mayfield. The Bengals still give up the most to fantasy quarterbacks
and should be in tough on the road in the dawg pound. Why is this play still a
little risky? We haven’t seen Baker in a must win situation of great importance
in the NFL just yet and would like to see how he handles himself. The potential
is great for Baker to have himself a very good day.
Running Backs:
Mark Ingram (NO)
The Saints offense has been nothing short of unimpressive these
last few weeks but returning home should be the elixir they require to turn
things around. Facing the Steelers and their 7th best defense verse
the run, Mark Ingram should be used a lot more to establish that hard nose
running to beat up the Pittsburgh defense. New Orleans requires a shootout type
of contest in the worst way to get back on track. Ingram should find his way back
into the endzone.
Sony Michel (NE)
The Buffalo Bills would like nothing more than to beat the Patriots
on their own home turf but stopping the run has been their biggest weakness this
season. Sony Michel and James White have struggled mightily these last few
weeks and should be used heavily in this one to keep the Bills off their game.
Buffalo gives up the tenth most to fantasy runners and Bill Belichick should
have a game plan that will exploit this weakness.
Derrick Henry (TEN)
Perhaps this is obvious now after seeing consecutive contests of massive
production from Derrick Henry, but we still must list him on the potential big
day category verse the Skins sound run defense. Henry has again gained the
trust of his coaching staff showing what happens when he receives the majority
of the touches from the backfield. Henry is a volume runner that gets better as
the game moves forward and should be able to get into the endzone once again.
If you were patient with Henry this season, he will reward you with a fantasy
title.
Wide Receivers:
Chris Hogan (NE)
With Josh Gordon now again on the NFL list for substance abuse,
re-enter Chris Hogan back into the mix as a potential big game player. Even as
the Bills have done a great job against receivers this season, they have been
prone to give up the big play from time to time. Hogan has a perfect opportunity
to showcase his ability once again and seeing him find the endzone could all be
but a formality.
Doug Baldwin (SEA)
The Seattle Seahawks have been perhaps the most impressive club
after seeing so many of their rostered players find new homes in the offseason.
Doug Baldwin has been dealing with a knee injury for the entire season which
has limited his overall performance. Last week proved that Doug is finding his
grove and could again be the case against the Chiefs who struggle to make stops
on defense at the best of times. If Seattle has any shot of winning this one on
Sunday Night, Baldwin will have to have a large day.
DaeSean Hamilton (DEN)
This is the second week in a row we will preach the Broncos
DaeSean Hamilton, and for right purpose. Hamilton has sealed himself in the
Sanders position and will continue to see the team high in targets this week
against the Raiders who can’t stop a cold. Seeing 21 targets over the last two
games while piling up 26.20 PPR points during that span, we should see DaeSean
again featured and producing. We could see Hamilton force the hand of the Broncos
brain trust this offseason to cut bait with Sanders if he produces these next
two weeks. Hamilton is a perfect flex play to get you the title.
Tight-Ends:
Matt LaCosse (DEN)
