Fantasy Football Week 13 Waiver Targets

So here we are, the final week of the fantasy football regular season. For some, this will be all she wrote as a playoff spot could be on the horizon and any matchup assistance could be the difference in winning and losing. For others who have already secured their berth in the postseason, now is a time to add viable depth pieces which have great matchup potential for those playoff rounds. Adding to that, if you have room on your roster, now is a very important time to hold handcuff players just in case an injury transpires. Not only blocking your opponents from holding these players but also keeping a backup for safe keeping could be a gigantic strategy over the next four weeks. Happy shopping, good luck…

Quarterbacks:
Dak Prescott (DAL) (48%)
More than likely if you have made it this far, you shouldn’t require the assistance off the waiver from the quarterback position. With that said, Dak Prescott could be that matchup play you are looking for in this newly high-octane Cowboys offense thanks to Amari Cooper. Prescott found his way to his second best performance of the season and should be able to muster close to the same in a potential shootout with the Saints on Thursday Night. Dallas may have to match score for score making Dak an appealing option for week 13.

Jameis Winston (TB) (47%)
The Bucs Jameis Winston once again found fantasy relevance last week going over 25 fantasy points while leading his team to victory. Going up against the Panthers in week 13 doesn’t possess anything other than playing spoiler to knock off a divisional foe. Winston seems to play better with nothing on the line and could once again find holes in a defense that has been prone to giving up big plays. Having another home date in Florida should allow Winston to play at his best. Very good matchup potential exists here.

Lamar Jackson (BAL) (42%)
While we had our reservations on the Ravens rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson, he has been able to find room generating decent fantasy production in the process. We would still like to see more efficiency from Jackson in the pass game to provide an endorsement to start, but if you’re stuck and need a better option this week, Lamar has a fantastic matchup against the Falcons who give up points in bunches to the position. Lamar’s running upside could give you another 20 fantasy points this week.

On the Radar:
Case Keenum (DEN) (16%)
Derek Carr (OAK) (18%)

Running Backs:
Justin Jackson (LAC) (2%)
With the Chargers star running back (Melvin Gordon) on the shelf for at least the next three weeks, Austin Ekeler should get the first crack at starting leaving Justin Jackson prime for mop up duties. Jackson is a talented runner that will be given a fair opportunity to see at minimum 10 carries from the backfield. Times will be dire for those who employ Gordon and require a good fill-in option. If you find yourself in this situation, Jackson should be your top waiver addition.

Carlos Hyde (JAX) (38%)
With recent news that Leonard Fournette has been suspended for this week’s contest against the Colts, Carlos Hyde and TJ Yeldon should form a RBBC approach becoming the vocal point of this offense with Cody Kessler now the starting quarterback. A sure down tick for all receiving options on the Jaguars moving forward becomes a positive for the Jacksonville running backs as they will surely see a multitude of carries. Yeldon is owned in more than 60% of leagues leaving Hyde the natural choice off the wire. Carlos should be able to find room verse a Colts defense that did give up decent yardage to the run last week.

Doug Martin (OAK) (48%)
By chance, if the Raiders Doug Martin is sitting on the waiver, you may want to use a selection to snag the muscle hamster. Coming off his best performance last week as a Raider, Martin has the opportunity to do some damage against the worst run defense in the NFL in the Kansas City Chiefs. With that said, Patrick Mahomes should put this game out of reach early, lowering the overall outlook for Oakland to run the ball with any sort of frequency. Garbage time points should dictate the outlook if your forced to plug and play Doug Martin.

Nyheim Hines (IND) (22%)
Speculative add this week goes to the forgotten man in the Colts offense as Nyheim Hines could find a role with Marlon Mack dealing with a concussion. Putting in a claim for Hines would be better served in PPR formats while watching the injury report on the status of his teammate (Mack), to see if he indeed will suit up for this contest. Jordan Wilkins will also see work in Mack’s absence, also potentially warranting a selection off the wire. Pick your poison for what could be a difficult prediction for the Colts backfield this week.

On the Radar:
Chris Thompson (WAS) (44%)
Jordan Wilkins (IND) (4%)
LeGarrette Blount (14%)
Giovani Bernard (CIN) (28%)
Spencer Ware (KC) (8%)
Malcolm Brown (LAR) (9%)

Wide Receivers:
Antonio Callaway (CLE) (9%)
Wide receiver Antonio Callaway reminded us of the talent he possesses last week finding the endzone for the first time since week 8. Baker Mayfield and the Browns seem to have new life post Hue Jackson allowing the offense to maneuver in ways we only imagined. Antonio has an opportunity to continue the pile up of production in these remaining four fantasy relevant contests. He is a prime depth piece that should be added if you can spare the room.

Bruce Ellington (DET) (2%)
In all PPR formats, you can no longer look away from the Lions Bruce Ellington as he essentially has taken over the Golden Tate role in the slot. Also, with recent news that Marvin Jones has been sent to injured reserve, Ellington should see continued work as the target share from Matthew Stafford will come in bunches. Seeing a healthy 16 targets over the last two contests provides great encouragement to the overall outlook moving forward. Kenny Golladay will be the primary receiver in this offense with Bruce lining up as the clear number two at this point. A solid PPR addition without question.

Mohamed Sanu (ATL) (43%)
With the Falcons clearly on life support for their outlook for the rest of the season, their fantasy perspective does have good appeal. Mohamed Sanu has fallen victim to horrible play calling and poor execution limiting the overall potential in generating solid production. Having quite the decent remaining schedule in terms of matchups, Sanu could be used more down the stretch stealing touchdowns while lifting his overall output. Atlanta can still move the ball leaving all receiving options with standalone appeal. Having Mohamed at least on the bench is a great move.

On the Radar:
Quincy Enunwa (NYJ) (9%)
Christian Kirk (ARZ) (38%)
Trey Quinn (WAS) (1%)
Curtis Samuel (CAR) (9%)
Danny Amendola (MIA) (38%)
Marcell Ateman (OAK) (1%)
Dontrelle Inman (IND) (2%)
Robert Foster (BUF) (0%)

Tight-Ends:
Jonnu Smith (TEN) (20%)
Finding tight-end options continues to be an ultimate struggle, but if your received our recommendation last week, the Titans Jonnu Smith is still worth a look. The issue with Smith in this offense is the lack of target share but he is making the most of the opportunity. Having a good matchup against the Jets in week 13, we could see an endzone trip happen once again. The matchup doesn’t look appealing, but given Corey Davis being the only viable wide receiver on the club, Smith is the number two option in this pass game.

Matt LaCosse (DEN) (0%)
The Denver Broncos have found their way back from the dead and fighting for their playoff lives with a glorious slate of upcoming games on the docket. With recent news of their starting tight-end Jeff Heuerman being placed on injured reserve, Matt LaCosse now becomes the default starter. Denver has shown the tight-end position more love these last few weeks which should continue verse perhaps the best remaining fantasy schedule in the league. LaCosse is a must add with good potential for the rest of the season.

Gerald Everett (LAR) (12%)
With the Rams fresh off the bye, tight-end Gerald Everett should find his way to continue to have a role on this offense. Coach McVay looks to have integrated both his tight-ends to hold some value (mostly in plus matchups) in this offense for the foreseeable future. There is great bust factor with both Everett and Higbee to warrant a starting nod, but if you’re truly stuck, they have risk reward potential.

On the Radar:
Jesse James (PIT) (10%)
Chris Herndon (NYJ) (8%)
Dan Arnold (NO) (0%)
Mark Andrews (BAL) (2%)
Tyler Higbee (LAR) (1%)
