Entering week 10 of the NFL season, a lot has taken
shape in terms of who the front runners are in the league. In terms of fantasy
football, there is a mere four weeks left until the playoffs begin and securing
those wins becomes that much more important. With the waiver wire looking extremely
thin and four teams on the bye once again, finding those diamonds to help bring
your club to victory is quite the task. We feel we have found players that
could be of assistance this week as well as moving forward as we get into
crunch time. Good luck and happy shopping…

BYE WEEK: Ravens, Broncos, Texans, Vikings
Quarterbacks:
Baker Mayfield (CLE)
(38%)
With Watson and Cousins on the bye this week, Baker
Mayfield becomes a glories bye-week starter with a decent matchup against the
Falcons who normally struggle verses opposing quarterbacks. While Baker hasn’t set
the world ablaze with an abundance of statistical performances, he has been
rather consistent in generating healthy numbers to help your team win contests.
Mayfield has been able to garner an average just over 16 points a week which could
see an uptick with a home date against the Falcons with a new offensive system.
You could do a lot worse than Mayfield this week.
Eli
Manning (NYG) (16%)
While Eli Manning has been the brunt of many jokes
this season with his inept output, his week ten matchup coming off the bye has
us extremely intrigued with the possibilities. Taking travel to the west coast
could be pause for concern, but it’s difficult to argue the matchup. The 49ers aren’t
the most stout defensive group as they normally give up points in bunches to
opposing quarterbacks. With Barkley and Beckham Jr. looking to once again have
huge roles on this offense; it’s not out of the question to see 20 to 25
fantasy points from Eli this week. For a streaming or bye-week fill-in coming
off the bye himself, we really like this play.
Nick Mullens (SF)
(3%)
A potential addition of the
49ers boy wonder is very speculative as we really don’t know what he could be
just yet. Going up against the Raiders last week who have all but packed it in
for the season, is no clear indication that Mullens is a solid starting
quarterback. With that said, having a genius mastermind in Kyle Shanahan teaching
execution while witnessing very sound throws from Nick last week, taking a
chance could turn out to be favorable. There is obvious great bust potential
with this play going up against the Giants defense that could turn it on at any
moment, but the risk could provide great reward. If you feel like gambling,
Mullens could pay off.

Alex Smith (WAS) (43%)
Dak Prescott (DAL) (38%)

Running Backs:
Duke Johnson Jr.
(CLE) (49%)
If our evaluation from last week wasn’t taken, you truly
missed out on the best performance of the season from Duke Johnson. It was a no
brainer as we mentioned last week that the Browns new offensive coordinator would
get Duke involved early and often making him one of the better plays of the
week. Now that Duke showed he could have a giant role moving forward in the
pass game, his ownership stake has jumped to nearly 50% which will make it difficult
to secure his services. If by chance you still see Johnson sitting on your
wire, he should be a priority claim to get on your roster.
Ito Smith (ATL) (44%)
Ito Smith is a player that will continue to be hit or miss
as the season goes forward, but it was very encouraging to see the Falcons continue
to commit to the run game leaving many carries for both Smith and Coleman. While
the Falcons will have to endure more travel to face off against the Browns this
week, we could definitely see a repeat in offensive scheme leaving the approach
run heavy. The Browns are a group that really struggle in stopping the run
providing further credence that Smith could reach points similar to last week.
Ito could still be on your wire ripe for the picking still available in 56% of
leagues. Smith is a must add.
Giovani
Bernard (CIN) (23%)
The potential return for the Bengals Giovani Bernard
is upon us, and could be a very important play in the pass game now that
super-star wide receiver AJ Green is in the medical room for a couple weeks.
Gio hasn’t been cleared to return just yet but has received the questionable
designation leaving optimism that he could take the field. While housing
Bernard on your roster for insurance is one thing, having him in your lineup
coming off a long layoff might be a little risky. Even still, Gio could be a
solid piece moving forward in PPR formats.

Nyheim Hines (IND) (26%)
Elijah McGuire (NYJ) (14%)
Darren Sproles (PHI) (6%)
Josh Adams (PHI) (11%)
Alfred Morris (SF) (15%)
Jamaal Williams (GB) (24%)
Wide Receivers:
Marquez
Valdes-Scantling (GB) (40%)
It’s no secret that we at ADF have become extremely smitten
with the Packers rookie receiving talent Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Aaron
Rodgers is beginning to trust Marquez given the fact that he has become a part
of the game plan with Geronimo Allison nursing injuries. MVS has seen a very
healthy target share (27 targets over the last four games) in this offense and hasn’t
disappointed. Valdes-Scantling in a secondary role has been able to generate
50.1 PPR fantasy points in the last four contests making him a sound flex start
on a weekly basis moving forward. Still available in 60% of leagues, MVS should
be on your roster.
Dez
Bryant (N/A) (8%)
With news buzzing that former Cowboys great Dez Bryant
has a try-out scheduled with the Saints on Tuesday, we have no choice but to recommend
using a waiver selection just in case. While some would ascertain that Dez isn’t
the player he once was and would have a limited role on this offense, we view
the potential for success quite differently. The Saints run many three wide
formations and haven’t seen much production come from the cast they currently
employ. Rookie Tre’Quan Smith has been making a name for himself to remain on
the field, but imagine the potential for Bryant to hold a slot role with the
great Drew Brees throwing him ball, could be a giant score off the wire this late
in the season. A lot needs to go right for Bryant to become fantasy relevant,
but it’s on the right track.
Tyrell
Williams (LAC) (45%)
When reviewing the wire, basically seeing any player
that holds snap counts on an offense going up against the Raiders should be considered
for pickup. Tyrell Williams should see his weekly 4 targets going deep with
high potential to garner yet another touchdown on the season. The Chargers continue
to roll these last few weeks making this contest a clear tune-up with heavy
fantasy implications in favor of their offensive weapons. If you require an upgrade
or a bye-week filler, Williams should have a very solid day.
Maurice Harris (WAS) (1%)
The Redskins Maurice Harris has had a role on this
offense since week five but had his coming out party last week against the
Falcons making him a possible viable fantasy producer. Dominating the target share
seeing a whopping 12 from Alex Smith, there’s little to suggest he won’t see
the same type of output this week verses the Buccaneers soft defense. With
injuries dictating options for Washington, Crowder and Thompson look to once again
be on the sidelines , making Harris a real nice piece for your squad. Bust
potential exists with Harris, but if you need wins, he could have a very solid
day lifting you to victory.

DeVante Parker (MIA) (37%)
Anthony Miller (CHI) (11%)

Tight-Ends:
Jack Doyle (IND) (40%)
The Colts have become a team that has relied on their
tight-end position more than any other club making it viable to play both Doyle
and Ebron on a weekly basis. Moving forward, Jack was pegged as the starter
entering the season and will be given every opportunity to regain his spot
moving ahead of Eric Ebron. Before the Colts bye-week, Doyle reasserted himself
seeing 7 targets and finding the endzone looking like the player we once knew. Owned
in only 40% of leagues, Jack Doyle is a must add for a position that struggles
to produce points. This could be yet another late season waiver steal for your
club.
Chris
Herndon (NYJ) (13%)
As the Jets continue to struggle
behind rookie Sam Darnold, tight-end Chris Herndon has become a reliable player
that will put up points now on a weekly basis. Seeing no less than 8 points and
a ceiling of 12 in his last four contests, the Jets are looking to Herndon as
the primary check down with matchup potential in the redzone. Going up against
the Bills defense that has performed better than most believe, Chris could be a
key to New York’s success. If you require a tight-end, Herndon could fit the
bill.
Ricky Seals-Jones (ARZ) (16%)
Coming off the bye-week and licking their wounds in
the process, the Cardinals look to finish the season strong with rookie Josh
Rosen showing signs of improvement. With that optimism of progression, the
Cards faceoff against the Chiefs this week which will undoubtedly keep Arizona
throwing as Patrick Mahomes will surely light up the scoreboard. Seals-Jones
has fantastic appeal this week with a multitude of garbage time points up for
grabs after the Chiefs will rout the Cardinals around the third quarter.
