Kirk Cousins (MIN)
The Minnesota Vikings
begin the season at home facing off against the 49ers which could turn into
quite the benefit to fantasy owners. When speaking of Kirk Cousins with fellow
colleagues, the perception to actual favor is quite skewed and it seems that
Cousins isn’t for everyone at this point. Some believe in Cousins ability and
now playing on a squad that looks to be extremely dominate this season, we are all
in to start especially in a plus matchup against the 49ers average defense.
While we fully understand the wait and see approach, we recommended Cousins
before drafts and will push the must start this week. Expect high end numbers
from this offense.
Drew Brees (NWO)
With the Saints
opening the year at home and taking on the Jameis Winston-less Tampa Bay
Buccaneers, this contest has the opportunity to see the great Drew Brees prove
he indeed hasn’t lost his elite level play. While the Bucs do employ a very
solid defensive front seven that could rival the best in the league, it’s the
secondary that provides our gleaming endorsement for Brees to have a very big
day. Having adequate talent on the corners with average safeties rounding out
the unit, Brees should be able to pick apart this secondary with his new
receiving options. We fully expect Drew to be one of the top producers this
week.
Jared Goff (LAR)
Capping off the Monday
Night double header, the Rams and Jared Goff look to show the NFL world they
are real deal contenders for this years Super Bowl in primetime. Goff made
great strides last season and we fully expect his progression to continue as
they face off against the Oakland Raiders defense who could again become bottom
feeders in the league. With the recent trade of their star Khalil Mack to the
Bears, Jared Goff and company look to feast on a defense which should look
quite pedestrian to open the season. Its not out of the question to see Goff in
the top five producing quarterbacks in week one.
Play with Confidence:
Deshaun Watson (HOU)
Aaron Rodgers (GB)
Tom Brady (NE)
Matt Stafford (DET)
Potential Big Day:
Andy Dalton (CIN)
Marcus Mariota (TEN)
Philip Rivers (LAC)
Start - Wide Receiver:
Keenan Allen (LAC)
The Los Angeles
Chargers begin the season at home playing against division rival in the Kansas
City Chiefs. Keenan Allen has been very high on our radar along with most of
this Chargers club as we believe they will finally turn a corner and run away
with this division. Allen could see some struggles with Kendall Fuller lined up
opposite of him, but with recent news that star Eric Berry might not suit up
for this contest leaves us licking our chops for the potential. Allen is always
a safe bet for high PPR production, but he should see a healthy amount of
success to start 2018 off the right way.
Stefon Diggs (MIN)
Everything Minnesota
in week one is our flavor with off the charts potential production staring at
us right in the face. To be clear we don’t believe the 49ers house an awful
defense, but it appears they aren’t quite there yet to compete with top end
competition. Richard Sherman has clearly lost a step and will be asked to play
more man-to-man coverage with weaker safety help to bail him out. Diggs should
find his way in the endzone at least once on Sunday proving he was worth his
large new contract extension.
A.J Green (CIN)
We at ADF have always
been great supporters of AJ Green, but felt he would’ve been more appreciated
if he played for another team. Either way, Green has found ways to be
uber-productive in the Bengals offense being a quite leader in the process.
Having an A+ matchup against the Indianapolis Colts dysfunctional defensive
unit has us celebrating Green even before the contest plays out. Cincinnati
should find ways to improve off last season’s struggles with key additions to
their offensive line allowing Dalton to have more time dissecting the defense.
If Joe Mixon can find ways to generate chunk yards in bunches, AJ Green will be
a massive benefactor to the play action pass. It’s difficult to not see Green
go over 100 yards and a trip to the endzone in week one.
Play with Confidence:
Antonio Brown (PIT)
Emmanuel Sanders (DEN)
Keelan Cole (JAX)
Michael Thomas (NWO)
Golden Tate (DET)
Potential Big Day:
Robert Woods (LAR)
(PPR)
Tre’Quan Smith (NWO)
Allen Hurns (DAL)
Start - Running Back:
Todd Gurley (LAR)
Much like the
commendation for Jared Goff, Todd Gurley will find his way to beast to
fantastic numbers against the lowly Oakland Raiders defense. Without Mack
setting the edge (traded to Chicago), the Rams can now use both sides of the
line to scheme and game plan becoming very multidimensional with their run
plays. Todd will find seams rather easily against a linebacking core that needs
great improvement. Obviously, Gurley is a must start in every format, but we
see this contest as potentially one of his best this season.
Dalvin Cook (MIN)
Returning from his ACL
injury last season, we find ourselves a little torn to suggest he is a must
start in his first game back. While most owners possess that same fear we have,
we can’t help but to feel that Cook will have a banner day in his return.
Dalvin should unquestionably be on a snap count as the coaching staff witnesses
his progression, but Cook should make the most of every touch with the great
possibility of him finding the endzone. Scheme could dictate the potential for
a PPR touchdown for Cook coming out of the backfield beating the 49ers line
backers. Should be a solid day in his return.
Derek Henry (TEN)
We have no choice but
to place Derek Henry as a must start against the Miami Dolphins weak defensive
front. Henry is built like a battering ram and will be leaned upon to dish out
the punishment early. The great thing about Henry is that the more touches he
receives, the better he gets entering the fourth quarter of games. This could be
the week Henry sets the tone and could become the weeks biggest trade prospect
in fantasy football seeing managers cashing in his performance value. Its not
difficult to envision over 100 yards and a touchdown if not more on the day.
Play with Confidence:
Kerryon Johnson (DET)
Christian McCaffrey
(CAR)
Alex Collins (BAL)
David Johnson (ARZ)
Potential Big Day:
Chris Thompson (WAS)
(PPR)
Kenyan Drake (MIA)
Alfred Morris (SF)
Start – Tight End:
Jimmy Graham (GB)
When Jimmy Graham took
his talents to Green Bay to team up with the great Aaron Rodgers, we couldn’t
stop smiling at the possibility for abundant success. Week one for the Packers
offense could be something of a challenge as the Chicago Bears employ an up and
coming squad that will again find their way to be top ten or better this
season. While linebacker Danny Trevathan and safety Eddie Jackson will draw the
assignment on Graham most of the day, we could see Rodgers finding Jimmy
regularly with high potential for an endzone trip. Graham should be used in
more favorable situations with higher target share then he saw last season with
the Seahawks to which he’ll reward his fantasy owners.
Play with Confidence:
O.J Howard (TB)
Delaine Walker (TEN)
Potential Big Day:
Kyle Rudolph (MIN)
