Welcome to the PLAYOFFS! As we enter Week 14, the Fantasy Football Playoffs are upon us
and we’ll be looking for matchup possibilities. Normally the rule of thumb is
to stick with your best players for the playoffs, but ADF has found a few that
may be able to take you over the top. Here are the best Week 14 Wavier Targets.
Good luck.

Quarterbacks:
Josh McCown (NYJ)
It’s become impossible to ignore the sound play of Josh McCown. He seems
to have found another level these last few weeks and will look to continue vs
the Denver Broncos who have all but called the season a wrap. Putting up two
straight 30+ point efforts in the last 2 weeks you may want to consider picking
up Josh to lead your team in the first week of the playoffs. He is owned in 42%
of leagues and should be there if your matchup looks worse than this. This
Broncos give up the 10th most to fantasy Quarterbacks and this could
be another solid day for the veteran.
Jameis Winston (TB)
Winston came back from injury last week to post solid numbers as the Bucs
look to play spoiler for the rest of the season. Owned in 49% of leagues he may
pose as a better option then what you currently are rostering. Going up against
the Detroit Lions who gave up almost 300 yards and two touchdowns to Joe Flacco
last week, Winston could be in for a decent day. Jameis is prone to throw interceptions;
however, he will always be looking to air it out.
Case Keenum (MIN)
Keenum has become a
very consistent play these last five weeks and that should continue vs the
Panthers who seem to have gaping holes in their great defense. Prone to give up
the big play and chunk yardage, Case should be able to move the ball freely in
a difficult matchup on paper. Still available in 35% of leagues his matchup isn’t
the most favorable but could provide enough to get you by if you’re in need. Buyer-beware
on this play this week.
Jimmy Garoppolo (SF)
It wasn’t the best performance
of the year by a Quarterback, but Jimmy G sure came out to play. Throwing the
ball 37 times in his first game can only benefit the young pivot as Coach
Shanahan should continue forming game plans to support his ability. Finding
receivers with regularity last week, the only downfall was his inability to
find the endzone. Owned in only 16% of leagues Jimmy has a fantastic matchup vs
the Texans who give up the 2nd most to fantasy Quarterbacks. This
play will be very attractive in deeper leagues as you look to get a victory and
move to the semi-finals.
Running Backs:
Peyton Barber (TB)
With Doug Martin not
expected to suit up this week again, the main benefactor will continue to be
Barber. Peyton had a monster game last week piling up nearly 18 fantasy points
in PPR leagues, and has a fantastic matchup against the Lions that can stop the
run whatsoever these days. Owned in 7% of leagues Barber will be the top running
back to add off the waiver. It will be smart to watch the Doug Martin situation
as the week moves on to confirm he will in fact not play.
Mike Davis (SEA)
It’s very clear Coach Carroll believes that Davis is the lead dog to
carry the Hawks so long he can stay healthy. Dominating the carries in the
backfield last week is something that should continue against the Jaguars. Davis
is owned in 10% of leagues and will be on the wire for an easy grab. His
matchup isn’t the greatest as he faces Jacksonville who allows the 12th
fewest to fantasy runners. His matchups moving forward appear better for the
playoffs, but if you’re stuck and need a back, Davis is a no brainer.
Andre Ellington (HOU) (PPR)
ADF mentioned
Ellington a couple weeks ago on the waiver targets as he was waived and picked
up by the Texans. Andre has real value in PPR leagues as Savage loves the
check-down to his running backs. Owned in 8% of leagues Ellington has a juicy matchup
vs the 49ers who give up the most to fantasy backs. This play is more appealing
in deeper leagues, but his value should only increase as the season goes on. In
PPR leagues if you require a solid pass catching back Ellington should be a top
priority.
Matt Forte (NYJ)
Once again Forte finds
himself back on the waiver and has reaffirmed himself as a potential starter in
the Jets offense. Owned in only 37% of leagues Matt has a decent matchup
against a Broncos defense that isn’t able to stop the bleeding and gives up
mass yards in the run game. The Jets do employ a trio of backs that all seem to
get their fair share of the workload. If you are thin at running back Forte is
a fantastic option this week.
On the Radar:
Potential Running Back Targets: Jonathan Stewart (CAR) ,
Travis Cadet (BUF), Giovani Bernard (CIN)
Wide Receivers:
Mike Wallace (BAL)
The receiver pool in
the wire is becoming extremely thin and one top addition this week has to be
Mike Wallace. Owned in 35% of leagues he should be there and shouldn’t be overlooked.
In the last four games Flacco has targeted Wallace a whopping 30 times
inflating his stats to now potentially roster and play. Having a difficult
matchup vs the Steelers this week Mike should get up to play his former team in
a very important divisional match for the Ravens. Mike does indeed have play
value.
Trent Taylor (SF)
(PPR)
With the infusion of
Jimmy G as the starting Quarterback for the 49ers, all the receivers get an
up-tick when it comes to value. Trent Taylor become a safety value for
Garoppolo seeing six targets catching all of them for 92 yards posting 12+
points in PPR leagues. That trend should continue this week as San Fran goes up
against the Texans who give up the 9th most to fantasy receivers. I wouldn’t
be surprised if Taylor duplicates last week’s effort and finds the endzone in
this contest. He is a must roster in PPR leagues.
On the Radar:
Potential Wide Receiver Targets: Tyler Lockett (SEA), JJ Nelson (ARZ), Taylor Gabriel (ATL), Ryan Grant (WAS), Zay Jones (BUF), Kenny Golladay (DET)
Tight Ends:
Dwayne Allen (NE)
Allen gets a massive
value up-tick this week with the recent suspension to Rob Gronkowski. For all
the Gronk owners now in desperate mode needing a tight-end to start for the
first week of the playoffs should target Dwayne Allen. This season has been one
to forget for the former Colt as he hasn’t been used they way most would’ve thought.
Owners should definitely keep a keen eye on the Gronk situation as he has
applied for appeal in hopes it will get overturned. Allen is the natural
plug-in play.
Benjamin Watson (BAL)
Watson is an interesting
play this week in a monster divisional contest in hopes to keep the Ravens
ahead of the pack. Playing against the Steelers, Flacco will be forced on many occasions
to find his check-down in Watson. Also, with the recent injury to star Line
Backer Ryan Shazier, the Steelers will now be more vulnerable to the big man
over the middle. Owned in only 12% of leagues if you need a tight-end to start,
Watson shouldn’t be overlooked.
Best Week 13
