Start - Quarterback:
Dak
Prescott (DAL)
Well
it all comes down to this for the Dallas Cowboys! They enter week 14 in a must
win situation and will again have to lean heavily on Dak to get the job done.
The Giants will certainly stack the box trying to limit the run (Alfred Morris),
daring Prescott to beat them. New York gives up the 3rd most to
fantasy quarterbacks, a trend that should continue on Sunday. Dallas had
somewhat of a resurgence last week and are coming off extra rest which should
help the game plan. This should be a solid start for the first week of the
playoffs.
Marcus
Mariota (TEN)
ADF
rarely sings the praises of this young quarterback and rightfully so. Marcus
hasn’t progressed like we would’ve liked this season topping out at 22 fantasy
points as his best game of the year. Even worse, Marcus tends to enter a shell
when he plays of the road and limits his production with bad reads and
inefficient play. The week the Titans travel to Arizona where the Cardinals
give up the 6th most to fantasy quarterbacks. There is a level of
bust to this play but ADF feels Marcus will step up to the challenge in the
desert. This game could see a lot of points on the board, some that Mariota
should account for.
Alex
Smith (KC)
Welcome
back Mr. Smith! Alex saw his best game in weeks putting up a whopping 44 points
in a high scoring contest in New York last week. This week could view much the
same as the Chiefs entertain the Raiders in a massive divisional match. Oakland
gives up the 9th most to fantasy quarterbacks and it won’t be a surprise
to see this game turn into another high scoring affair. The biggest positive
for Smith owners is the Kansas City defense can’t stop anyone leaving Alex to
consistently throw the ball. With Coach Reid giving up play calling duties we
again should see deep balls down the field for most of the game. Great start
for week 14!
Play with Confidence:
Eli
Manning (NYG)
Ben
Roethlisberger (PIT)
Philip
Rivers (LAC)
Tom
Brady (NE)
Russell
Wilson (SEA)
Josh
McCown (NYJ)
Potential Big Day:
Matthew
Stafford (DET)
Derek
Carr (OAK)
Jameis
Winston (TB)
Start - Wide Receiver:
Michael
Crabtree (OAK)
Perhaps one of the brightest starts of the week will
go to the Raiders Michael Crabtree. This content should definitely see its
share of points and back to back play. The Chiefs defense has run out of
Band-Aids to stop the bleeding and is currently on life support. Kansas City
gives up the 2nd most to fantasy receivers and will be without
Marcus Peters (suspension), their best cover man. All signs point to a very big
day for Crabtree, sit back and enjoy.
Jarvis
Landry (MIA) (PPR)
There’s
no question that Jarvis Landry is a machine in PPR formats. He has seen a
fantastic 123 targets so far this season consistently turning those into
receptions. Landry’s stat line to date looks like 80 rec-699 yards -6 TDs,
pretty impressive on a lousy team. This week should be no different and perhaps
we’ll receive an early Christmas present watching Jarvis hop into the endzone
to the elation of fantasy owners. The Patriots in fact have corrected their
defensive issues not realistically identified in the statistical categories.
New England on paper still gives up the 5th most to fantasy
receivers and players like Landry are the key benefactors with PPR points. He
will be a solid start with high upside this week.
Dez
Bryant (DAL)
Much
like the evaluation for Dak Prescott the same can be said for the great Dez
Bryant. The Cowboys are in a must win contest and even though Dez will face a
tough task going up against Jack-Rabbit Jenkins, he should see a multitude of
targets come his way. The Giants give up the 10th most to fantasy
receivers and should have their hands full with Bryant. His stock might be more
valuable in PPR formats but ADF can easily see and endzone trip for #88.
Larry
Fitzgerald (ARZ)
It’s
amazing to watch the future Hall of Famer still produce at the level he has
these last few weeks. Coach Arians simplified his game plans when Blaine
Gabbert took over as the starter in Arizona. Fitzgerald has seen an amazing 42
targets these last 4 weeks and without question that will continue on Sunday.
The Titans give up the 6th most to fantasy receivers which bods well
for a force feeding plan to the great Larry Fitzgerald. With their slim
playoffs hopes alive the Cardinals will attempt to run the ball and
continuously target one of the best to ever play. Without question Larry will
find the endzone this weekend.
Golden
Tate (DET) (PPR)
The
Lions again have let their fans down when it comes to hopes of the postseason
dropping a key contest last week in Baltimore. The great news for Tate owners
is that the Lions play the Bucs who give up the most to fantasy receivers this
season. This biggest downfall has been the lack of touchdown production coming
from Tate this year to which he is long overdue. Again the plague of the Lions
offense has been the ineffectiveness of their run game and their inability to
re-create it with short passes. This week we should see the adjustment in
full-force and the re-commitment in targeting Tate. The potential for Golden to
finally again find pay dirt is high to go along with a solid PPR day.
Play with Confidence:
Antonio
Brown (PIT)
Tyreek
Hill (KC)
Sammy
Watkins (LAR)
Mike
Evans (TB)
DeAndre
Hopkins (HOU)
Keenan
Allen (LAC) (PPR)
Adam
Thielen (MIN) (PPR)
Dede
Westbrook (JAX)(PPR)
Potential Big Day:
Josh
Gordon (CLE)
Kenny
Stills (MIA)
Trent
Taylor (SF) (PPR)
Marvin
Jones (DET)
Start - Running Back:
Melvin
Gordon (LAC)
The
red hot Chargers host the Redskins who are coming off a disaster showing last
Thursday Night against the Cowboys. Washington allowed Alfred Morris run all
over them, a sight we may see on Sunday, but this time it’ll be Melvin Gordon.
The Skins give up the 9th most to fantasy runners and the way the
Chargers have played of late we should see a nice dose of Gordon. The extreme
production of Melvin has definitely fallen off these last few weeks but this
should be the game he gets back on track. ADF is predicting over 100 yards and
an endzone trip for the talented running back.
Lamar
Miller (HOU)
The
Texans are all but done in the playoff race and are playing a game vs the 49ers
that really means nothing. These types of games can usually produce large fantasy
numbers as players are loose simply playing out the string. Lamar hasn’t had a
fantastic season by any stretch, but this game could turn things around. San
Fran gives up the 3rd most to fantasy running backs and the Texans
will lean heavy on him this week. Miller hasn’t seen a 100 yard game all season
but remains relevant in the pass game. ADF can foresee a high possibility that
Miller could reach his first 100 yard game along with finding the endzone.
LeSean
McCoy (BUF) (PPR)
With
news that Tyrod Taylor will be a game time decision all the focus should go to
Shady and the run game. Weather forecast has a potential snowy New Era Field
for Sundays tilt as the Colts come to town. The matchup for McCoy is extremely
favorable as the Colts give up the 8th most to fantasy running backs
where Shady should take advantage. If Taylor in fact doesn’t suit up, it may
increase the eight & nine-man boxes McCoy will face, the potential for a
monster game is still very real. The game plan if Peterman starts at quarterback
should entertain a lot of check downs and short passes out of the backfield
increasing the value for a PPR start. The Bills are still very much alive in
the playoff race and will need to pull this one out to keep hope alive. McCoy
should get back on the score sheet with a nice game for his owners.
Dion
Lewis (NE)
With
the suspension to Rob Gronkowski the loss of targets and production could very
well benefit Dion Lewis. He has become the most trusted back in the Patriots
offense as ball security is the name of the game. Going up against the Dolphins
for the second time in 3 weeks his stat line should resonate the same. Back in
week 12 Lewis posted 112 yards and one reception, vs the Fins and ADF fully
expects a similar outcome. The potential for Dion to find the endzone always
exists, but as Rex Burkhead continues to shine Lewis may see less redzone
opportunity. With that said Lewis is a great play for the first week of the
playoffs.
Play with Confidence:
Jordon
Howard (CHI)
Duke Johnson (CLE)
Marshawn Lynch (OAK)
Jay Ajayi (PHI)
Alex Collins (BAL)
Matt Forte (NYJ)
LeVeon
Bell (PIT)
Potential Big Day:
Peyton
Barber (TB)
Bilal
Powel (NYJ) (PPR)
Samaje
Perine (WAS)
Giovani
Bernard (CIN) (PPR)
Isaiah
Crowell (CLE)
Andre
Ellington (HOU) (PPR)
Start – Tight End:
Hunter
Henry (LAC)
ADF
has preached Henry these last couple weeks and he hasn’t disappointed. Posting
very solid numbers Hunter again has an A+ matchup vs the Redskins who struggle
to cover the tight-end. The Skins give up the 5th most to players at
this position and it finally seems the Chargers understand how to get the big
man the ball. The potential is very high for Henry to find the endzone, and ADF
surely believes he will get in. LA will keep rolling and Henry should be a big
part.
Travis
Kelce (KC)
The
Chiefs found their stride again last week and a huge benefactor as ADF promised
(last week), was Travis Kelce. The same will be said this week as the star
tight-end has a fantastic matchup in a monster divisional game vs the Raiders.
Oakland gives up the 7th most to fantasy tight-ends and this is a
situation where Travis will feast. He should see around eight to ten targets
plus ample redzone work. Usually there is no question to start Kelce, but this
week he will provide everything you need.
Jason
Witten (DAL)
The
speculative play of the week goes to the Dallas Cowboys Jason Witten. His
matchup is far too good to overlook and he should be able to produce in a must
win contest. The Giants give up the 2nd most to fantasy tight-ends
and should be able to produce and find holes on the underachieving New York
defense. As always, there is high bust factor for Witten, but this week should
be the exception to the rule. Jason should get 5 receptions – 50 yards – 1 TD
this Sunday.
Play with Confidence:
Jimmy
Graham (SEA)
Austin
Seferian-Jenkins (NYJ)
Zach
Ertz (PHI) (PPR)
Cameron
Brate (TB)
Potential Big Day:
Charles
Clay (BUF) (PPR)
Stephen
Anderson (HOU)
