Start - Quarterback:
Philip
Rivers (LAC)
It’s
hard to envision sitting Rivers from now until the end of the season,
especially when he has juicy matchups like this week’s game against the Browns.
Cleveland gives up the 4th most to fantasy quarterbacks something
Rivers will definitely exploit especially playing at home in Los Angeles.
Something special might be happening in LA with these Chargers, for a must win
week for playoffs, play Philip with great confidence.
Derek
Carr (OAK)
I
fully understand that the Raiders will be shorthanded without Cooper &
Crabtree, but this matchup is too good to pass up. The New York Giants give up
the 2nd most points to fantasy quarterbacks and even without the
star cast, Carr should find the fill-ins all day long. The Raiders can afford
no slip-up as their playoff hopes sit squarely on winning this game. There is a
small bust factor as the Raiders and Carr haven’t set the world a blaze with
statistics this season; however this one should view differently. We could see
3 TDs from Carr this weekend.
Jared
Goff (LAR)
The
rising young star in the NFL will continue to show his flash as he takes on the
Cardinals in Arizona. A very favorable matchup waits for the Rams as they look
to dominate as they did in their previous meeting. The Cards give up the 5th
most to fantasy throwers and I fully expect Goff to take advantage. Being left
short without Robert Woods again, will see to pose no issue as the rest of the
clan will step up and produce as they did last week. Goff and the Rams will be
looking to tune up as we get into the last quarter of the season. His stat line
should read; 320 yards, 2-3TDs.
Play with Confidence:
Cam
Newton (CAR)
Tom
Brady (NE)
Carson
Wentz (PHI)
Ben
Roethlisberger (PIT)
Case
Keenum (MIN)
Potential Big Day:
Blake
Bortles (JAX)
Start - Wide Receiver:
Mike
Evans (TB)
As
average as Mike Evans has been all season, this is the week he comes to play.
Having an A+ matchup against the Packers who give up the 3rd most to
fantasy wide receivers, this is a day he should ultimately feast. The limitations
haven’t been all his fault this season, he has endured shoddy quarterback play.
The Packers are coming off a game where they couldn’t cover a cold and let the
Steelers receivers run wild. Evans value is larger in PPR formats this week but
should be able to find the endzone in this contest. Stat line should read 6rec-85yards-1TD.
Devante
Adams (GB)
Adams
has been absolutely fantastic these last 3 weeks seemingly being the only Packer
receiver that has found chemistry with back up Brett Hundley. Adams has seen a
whopping 26 targets over the last 3 games and there’s nothing to think that won’t
continue. Having the best matchup of any receiver this weekend, Tampa Bay gives
up the most to any fantasy wide receiver. The added pressure to the stat line,
the Packers are in a must win situation and ADF is very confident Adams will
have a fantastic day. He finds the endzone this week again.
Keenan
Allen (LAC) (PPR)
One
of the hottest receivers in the NFL, Keenan Allen has a great matchup even though
the matchup stats don’t reflect it. The Browns give up the 8th
fewest to fantasy receivers, but, as the season has gone on, the defense has
shown its worse for wear as they tend to give up chunk plays entering the third
quarter. ADF has mentioned that there is something special happening in LA and
this ship will continue to roll. The appeal of Allen is obviously larger in PPR
leagues, but there is no question he will go wild on Sunday. His stat line will
read as; 8rec-110yards-1TD.
Johnny
Holton (OAK)
The
speculative start of the week goes to the Raiders Johnny Holton. A lot has been
said that Cordarrelle Patterson will take over the receiving duties as Crabtree
and Cooper won’t play this week. Holton provides the biggest upside as he
should man the outside opposite Patterson finding weaker coverage and being the
man no one is expecting. Having a good matchup vs the Giants who give up the 10th
most to fantasy receivers he could be poised for a big day. This start will be
more attractive in deeper leagues as it might be difficult to trust if you’re
in a must win situation. Don’t over look Holton Carr will find him on Sunday.
There is bust potential on this play, so beware.
Play with Confidence:
Adam
Thielen (MIN) (PPR)
Sammy
Watkins (LAR)
Nelson
Agholor (PHI)
DeAndre
Hopkins (HOU)
Robby
Anderson (NYJ) (PPR)
Cooper
Kupp (LAR) (PPR)
AJ
Green (CIN)
Potential Big Day:
Dede
Westbrook (JAX)
Jermaine
Kearse (NYJ)
Corey
Davis (TEN)
Start - Running Back:
Jordon
Howard (CHI) SF most
Once
again Howard is the must start of the week (as per 2 weeks ago), as he
possesses the best matchup for any running back on Sunday. Playing the 49ers
who give up the most points to fantasy runners, Jordon is prime to have a field
day. Having a home date against San Fran, the Bears will run the ball for much
of the afternoon trying to make it easier on Trubisky to set up the play action.
This game on paper might view as a snooze-fest, but rest assured, Howard will
find the endzone.
Dion
Lewis (NE) (PPR)
As
difficult as its been to predict the Patriots use of their running backs this
season it seems Belichick is now in full support of the shifty Lewis. Dion has
dominated the touches coming out of the back field and nothing is out to
suggest that won’t happen again. Over the last three games Lewis has a celling
of almost 18 points with a floor of 13 (PPR formats). Lewis entertains a great
matchup vs a Bills defense that has found it very difficult to stop the run.
The Bills give up the 3rd most to fantasy runners and will be in
tough to stop all the weapons on the New England roster. Even if Dion doesn’t find
the endzone this week he should see plenty of work to inflate his numbers.
Jamaal
Williams (GB)
Most
Packers will be on the start list as the matchup vs the Bucs is extremely juicy.
Williams had his breakout performance last week on Sunday Night Football
against the Steelers proving why he challenged for the starting job back in
training camp. With news that Green Bay has placed TY Montgomery on IR, the
back field for the rest of the year should belong to Williams. Even if Aaron Jones
does come back and employs somewhat of a time share, Jamaal has proven he is
worth the price of admission. Having a middle of the pack matchup vs the Bucs
he should still find plenty of room to gallop. Williams will find the endzone
at Lambo Field.
Todd
Gurley (LAR)
On
paper this match doesn’t view as a monster for Gurley, but something about division
games brings the best out in this man. The Cardinals give up the 11th
fewest to fantasy running backs but its hard to ignore what Todd did to his
division foe back in week 7. Gurley posted over 150 total yards on 26 touches
the last time these two teams played, and this time he should find the endzone.
The best improvement this season for Gurley has been the development of the
pass game to help elevate the pressure on his shoulders. This game means a
whole lot to the Rams and winning the NFC West, expect Gurley to run wild. He
will have over 100 yards and at least one touchdown.
Play with Confidence:
LeSean
McCoy (BUF)
Duke
Johnson (CLE) (PPR)
LeVeon
Bell (PIT)
Jerick
McKinnon (MIN) (PPR)
Leonard
Fournette (JAX)
Potential Big Day:
Marshawn
Lynch (OAK)
Alex
Collins (BAL)
Tarik
Cohen (CHI) (PPR)
Start – Tight End:
Delanie Walker (TEN) (PPR)
The
Titans haven’t been anything to write home about these last few weeks, but this
should be the week they get back on track. The biggest benefactor in the game
plan should be the number of targets going toward Walker. Playing the Texans
with an A+ matchup as they give up the 6th most to fantasy
tight-ends, this should be a day that Mariota finds Delanie with great
frequency. The pass offense has been somewhat anemic, but the coach should find
cleaver ways to move the ball. High percentage Walker finds the endzone in this
contest.
Hunter
Henry (LAC)
The
up and down season for Henry continues as there seems to be no rhyme or reason
to how the potential star is being used in this offense. Having another great
matchup against the Browns its very difficult to ignore, as Cleveland gives up
the 2nd most to players at this position. As the Chargers continue to
roll Henry could be a more viable weapon in this offense. With that said, Henry
still possesses a high bust factor that could cripple your chances of a win.
The potential is here for a big game, but time will tell.
Travis
Kelce (KC)
It
quite difficult to trust any Chiefs players at this point as their season is on
the verge of complete collapse. It seems that all teams in the NFL have figured
out how to stop the once high-powered offense which includes the great Kelce.
Going up against the Jets in a true must win to keep the season alive, Travis
has a fantastic matchup to help his squad reach the W in the win column. The Jets
give up the 10th most to fantasy tight-ends and if Kansas City wants
to avoid another loss in the state of New York, they need to feed the beast. Kelce
should see his fair share of targets and more than likely will get back into
the endzone.
Play with Confidence:
Zach
Ertz (PHI)
Rob
Gronkowski (NE)
Potential Big Day:
Jared
Cook (OAK)
