Quarterbacks:
Ryan Fitzpatrick (TB)
Yet again coming off the bench to improve a team is Ryan Fitzpatrick.
Owned in only 9% of leagues he is coming off a 22 fantasy point week and has a
middle ground matchup this week vs the Falcons. With Bye weeks finished you may
still be looking to stream a QB or play the best matchup, don’t overlook Fitz-magic
this week. Ryan is a competitor and will put his best foot forward - that being
said even if this game turns into a blow out the potential for garbage time
points is very strong. Very viable stream QB for Week 12!
Jacoby Brissett (IND)
Coming off the bye the Colts take on the Titans who showed their
weaknesses last week vs the Steelers. Owned in 17% of leagues Brissett could
provide some good value if you require a stream QB. The Titans give up the 8th
most to fantasy QBs this season and Jacoby could be in for a very good day.
Playing at home off a week of rest should give the Colts every advantage to perform.
Brissett is a good stream option if you are so inclined.
Running Backs:
Samaje Perine (WAS)
If you didn’t take the advice from ADF last week to pick up Perine you
might be out of luck this week. Not only did Samaje hold onto the rock he
played extremely well going over 100 total yards and producing 20+ fantasy
points. With the terrible injury sustained by Chris Thompson knocking him out
for the season, Perine is indeed lead dog moving forward. Owned in 35% of
leagues he is still available for the taking, just now the competition for his
ownership has increased.
Danny Woodhead (BAL) (PPR)
Seeing his first action since being activated from IR Danny came out of
the game upright and could potentially have a bigger role moving forward. Owned
in 49% of leagues his appeal rests solely in PPR leagues. Seeing a whopping 6 targets last week he
should entertain much of the same. Going up against the Texans on Monday Night
Football, Woodhead should produce coming out of the back field catching balls.
If he’s there snag him for the playoff push, he will provide value.
Jonathan Stewart (CAR)
It wasn’t surprising that the Panthers decided to get back to their ways
and run the ball with J-Stew 2 weeks ago. Coming off the bye and getting some
much needed rest, Carolina faces the Jets where Stewart should find goal line
work and possibly get into the endzone. Stewart has very favorable matchups
moving forward and would be valuable for a long playoff run. Owned in 36% of
leagues he could be a very good option. Keep in mind he is a boom or bust
player and could disappoint.
Corey Clement (PHI)
Clement is a very intriguing player on one of the best offensive units in
the NFL. He has become the touchdown back in Philly racking up 7 scores so far
on the year. Owned in only 10% of leagues Clement will be there for the taking,
however, is a prime boom or bust candidate. Starting Corey will have to be
based on pure matchup as its unknown how many carries he will see on a weekly
basis. In deeper leagues Clement is a must add his production should continue.
J.D. McKissic (SEA)
(PPR)
Enter another back in the Seahawks crowded backfield that may have the
most value in PPR formats. McKissic has taken the role that was envisioned for CJ
Prosise before he landed on IR. J.D. is a very explosive player that will continue
to take on passing downs and find production catching the ball. He saw a
healthy 6 targets on Monday Night Football, a trend that will undoubtedly
continue vs the 49ers on Sunday. If you need a back to fill in Seattle has the
best matchup of the week for Running Backs, San Fran gives up the most to
runners in PPR formats.
Mike Davis (SEA)
Surprise start on Monday Night Football was practice squad player Mike
Davis, and he did make plays. Davis should be free for the taking on the waivers
as he holds a 1% ownership stake in most leagues. Unfortunately Davis was
forced out of the contest due to a groin injury and now has been ruled out of
this week’s game. His situation is worth watching as he could be a great bench
addition for depth going into the playoffs.
Byron Marshall (WAS) (PPR)
Recent news breaking that Marshall (former Eagles practice squad player), will take over the role left by injured star Chris Thompson. Coach Gurden has mentioned that Byron will slot into the 3rd down role as pass catcher. Time will tell how effective Marshall will be in the Skins offense, but he is definitely worth a flyer in all PPR leagues to hold at least as a bench stash.
Andre Ellington (FA)
The very speculative
add this week goes to Andre Ellington. Realistically he is on full watch and
see mode as he was just released by the Cardinals and should be picked up by
another squad very soon. The rumor mill has Andre landing a job with the Redskins
basically taking Chris Thompson’s role now that he will be sent to IR. If your
league caps the amount of waiver moves you can do each week keep one handy as
Ellington would be a must add if he lands on a team that would take advantage
of his skill-set. No reason to waste a pick up if he isn’t on a roster by Wednesday.
Wide Receivers:
Josh Doctson (WAS)
It’s with the extreme misfortune that Chris Thompson has been lost for
the year and the placing of Pryor on IR, the biggest benefactor should be Josh
Doctson. Owned in only 28% of leagues Doctson has seen a nice 7 targets in each
of his last two games. Taking the role of the number one wide receiver while
the Skins have to find a way to replace Thompson’s lost targets, Josh could be
in for a hefty workload moving forward. He is a must add in all formats.
Russell Shepard (CAR)
Some may roll their eyes to this endorsement on the waiver, but believe
me there is great potential here. With the loss of Curtis Samuel for the season
the Panthers will be forced to employ Shepard as the number 2 receiver on the
team. Forced is a strong word, as I have great faith in his ability to make
plays. He did have some costly drops two weeks ago on Monday Night, but coming
off the bye he will have more time working with Newton and the top unit. His
value should be more in PPR, but will have potential to find the endzone this
week in a great matchup vs the Jets who give up the 9th most to
fantasy receivers. Moving forward the Panthers have a favorable schedule and
Shepard could have a decent role seeing 5-6 targets a game.
Dede Westbrook (JAX)
If you haven’t been listening now’s the time. Westbrook is a must add
this week after coming back from IR and seeing a nice 6 targets vs the Browns.
His stat line was to be expected in his first game of the season and playing
the likes of Ramsey and Bouye in Jacksonville. Owned in 31% of leagues he is
more than available to grab and has a good matchup vs the Cardinals who give up
the 8th most to fantasy receivers. This kid has all the confidence
in the world teamed up with ability; I’ll buy this all day long. Potential for
big numbers is very high.
Cooper Kupp (LAR) (PPR)
The biggest addition off the waiver at receiver might go to Cooper Kupp!
With news that Robert Woods will miss the next couple weeks is leaving owners
scrambling. Kupp would be the next man up in the rotation to take on targets
meant for Woods. Kupp might be a more difficult addition as he is already owned
in 51% of leagues, so you may not get your chance. If you do happen to see Kupp
on the wire and you’re a Woods owner, he is your natural replacement option.
Tavon Austin (LAR)
Major speculative
addition of the week goes to Tavon Austin! With news that Woods will miss some
time the Rams will be forced to get creative and naturally using the playmaking
ability of Austin sounds perfect this week against the Saints. This is a true
boom or bust pickup, one that could pay big dividends if it works out.
Buyer-beware on this one, but the potential does exist.
On the Radar: Potential Wide Receiver Targets – Mike Wallace (BAL) vs Houston, Ryan Grant (WAS) vs NY Giants,
Eric Decker (TEN) vs Indianapolis, Taylor Gabriel (ATL) vs Tampa Bay,
Tight Ends:
Martellus Bennett (NE)
Realistically the tight end crop has been picked apart from bye weeks and
teams holding multiple players at this position. If you don’t have a top flight
tight end, Bennett could still be your guy. Owned in 35% of leagues and having a
great matchup vs the Dolphins this week there is a possibility he finds the
endzone in week 12. If you are looking for a good matchup, Martellus is your
best bet off the waiver.
Best Week 12

Carolina – Playing NY Jets
Kansas City – Playing Buffalo
