Start - Quarterback:
Alex
Smith (KC)
It’s
no surprise that coming off the bye and setting up to play the helpless NY
Giants that Alex Smith ranks atop the QB start list. The Giants have completely
given up on the season and give up the most fantasy points to opposing QBs.
This is setup to be a blowout before the national anthem. The risk involved in
a game like this is the potential for early benching. Smith should be able to
exploit the Giants enough to grab you 20-25 fantasy points before that
happens.
Tom
Brady (NE)
The
yearly Mexico game is upon us and leading the charge will be the mighty Tom
Brady. Having a great matchup vs the Raiders who give up the 10th
most to QBs this season, Brady and the Patriots should be able to make quick
work of the Oakland defense. The Patriots currently are the best offensive unit
in the NFL and playing in the spotlight in Mexico, we could see plenty of
fireworks. Tom posts at least 3 touchdowns with a shot of tequila in this one.
Carson
Wentz (PHI)
Young
Carson has been absolutely fantastic since Week 5! Wentz has surpassed the 30
point mark in 3 of those five games with a ceiling of 35 points and a floor of
19 points. Going up against the Cowboys this week who give up 15th
most to fantasy QBs this season might see a narrative change come Sunday.
Dallas proved that without Zeke Elliott and LT Tyron Smith, they are a club in
full desperation mode. The inability to sustain drives will undoubtedly give
Wentz and the Eagles plenty more opportunity to grease the scoreboard. The
Eagles are definitely flying high and Wentz should have another fantastic
performance. Easily 300 yards and 3 TDs!
Drew
Brees (NWO)
Analysts
want to ascertain that the Brees we once knew is no longer the same player. Let
me remove this notion from all circles. Brees hasn’t taken a step backward,
simply the game plan has changed, and rightly so. How comforting for Saints
fans that Brees doesn’t have to throw 40 times a game and the squad is rolling
out win after win on the strength of the run game. For Fantasy owners this of
course has become a problem, rest assured it will improve. Finding their
dominate stride in the run game will only improve Brees ability to find open
receivers off the play-action. This week will be a perfect example as Drew
faces the Redskins defense which allows the 9th most to fantasy QBs.
On the flip side, the Skins are the 11th toughest against runners
this season, see the trend. The fundamentals have changed in New Orleans but
Drew should have a good game on Sunday.
Play with Confidence:
Eli
Manning (NYG)
Russell
Wilson (SEA)
Potential Big Day:
Derek Carr (OAK)
Blake
Bortles (JAX)
Start - Wide Receiver:
Larry
Fitzgerald (ARZ)
Like
a good wine, Fitzgerald seems to get better with age. He’s coming off a
fantastic performance vs the Seahawks where Larry saw a whopping 14 targets
hauling in 10 rec-113 yards! This week the Cardinals face off against the
Texans who give up the 4th most to fantasy receivers. It may seem
strange to endorse a Larry start with news that Blaine Gabbert will get the nod
at quarterback. The key to the game plan is Coach Arians doesn’t simplify the
pass attack and seems to instruct all his signal callers to force feed the
future Hall of Famer. The luxury with Fitz is, if you throw the ball in his
general direction chances are he’ll come down with the ball. This should be the
plan on Sunday and we shouldn’t be surprised to see him generate another 10+
targets. Start and enjoy!
Golden
Tate (DET) (PPR)
With
the Lions going up a stout Bears defense there may be some eye rolling to why
Tate is a must start. The Bears in fact do give up the 12th fewest
points to fantasy receivers this season; however, Golden just loves playing the
division foe. The last six games vs the Bears Tate has produced a stat line of;
49 targets for 30 receptions. Over Tate’s last three games this season he has
been on an absolute tear generating; 24 targets, 20 receptions, 296 yards! Tate
is the most under-valued wide receiver in the game today. The only knock on
Tate is his lack of touchdown production week to week. He is a monster play
this week vs the Bears and should carve them up.
Michael
Crabtree (OAK)
Coming
off the bye and essentially playing a home game in Mexico, the Raiders and
Crabtree will have the tough test of playing the Patriots. Good news for
Crabtree owners is that New England still gives up the 3rd most to
fantasy wide receivers. Michael has reconfirmed that he is more than capable in
competing against the top defensive backs in the NFL – this week its Stephon
Gilmore. I fully expect the Raiders to employ an enhanced air attack to try and
match the Patriots top flight scoring ability. The great news for fantasy owners
that even if the Raiders are being blowout, Crabtree will benefit from garbage
time points. He should easily see 10 targets in the game!
Robert
Woods (LAR) (PPR)
Mr.
Woods has made the NFL take notice that he’s more than a great run blocker,
possession type of wide receiver. Woods has absolutely lost his mind these last
two games posting a stat line of; 12 receptions, 241 yards, and 4TDs. This
obviously isn’t 100% sustainable especially going up against a top flight
defense in the Vikings. That being said, Woods have carved out a nice role for
himself seeing plenty of targets come his way. His value still remains higher
in PPR leagues but is creeping on must start on a weekly basis in standard
leagues as well.
Jarvis
Landry (MIA) (PPR)
Landry
and the Dolphins have played extremely poor over the last several weeks. Landry
has saved his fantasy owners this season with his ability to generate garbage
time production. Going up against the Buccaneers who give up the 2nd
most to fantasy wide receivers, we should see a different trend this week. The
positive for Landry is the number of targets he gets from Jay Cutler which is
built into the game plan. This game has everything to like if you are a Jarvis
Landry owner, he should find the end zone once again and keep his owners
happy.
Play with Confidence:
Tyreek
Hill (KC)
Sterling
Shepard (NYG)
Michael
Thomas (NWO)
Adam
Thielen (MIN) (PPR)
DeVante
Parker (MIA)
Potential Big Day:
Nelson
Agholor (PHI)
Mike
Wallace (BAL)
Start - Running Back:
Melvin
Gordon (LAC)
Enter
the best matchup of the week for any fantasy running back! Melvin Gordon and
the LA Chargers have a home date vs the Buffalo Bills that in the past two
weeks haven’t been able to stop the bleeding giving up a ridiculous 494 rushing
yards. The narrative should be very similar as Gordon will be leaned upon to
carry the load as Philip Rivers shakes the cobwebs from concussion protocol.
The one concern for Melvin is the amount of PPR plays that have been going to receiving
back Austin Ekeler. That being said, the
Bills give up the second most to fantasy runners and I’m sure Coach Lynn has
viewed several hours of tape to exploit and continue the Bills defensive
breakdown.
LeSean
McCoy (BUF)
The
hot take of the week went to the Buffalo Bills in the benching of Tyrod Taylor.
While many are left scratching their heads, ADF is in support of the decision
to try something different in jump starting this offense. As Taylor’s
weaknesses and struggles become an easy game plan for the opposition, the
biggest blow went to McCoy fantasy owners. Simply keeping contain on the
outside while setting a spy on Tyrod daring him to throw over the middle,
allowed all defenses to easily shutdown Shady and the run game. Not all
responsibility should rest on Taylor but also with the ineffective play calling
from OC Dennision. When Shady’s shortcomings in the run game happened he would
regain fantasy strength in the pass game from the many check downs, this too
has gone by the waste side. Going up against the Chargers who give up the 4th
most to fantasy running backs, we should see a motivated Shady McCoy seeing a
multitude of touches in this one. We can see LeSean finding his way back in the
endzone in this one.
Jordan
Howard (CHI)
With
a juicy matchup last week vs the Packers, Howard disappointed owners amassing
only 54 yards rushing on 15 carries. This week the Bears go up against the
Lions who give up the 10th most to fantasy running backs, a stage
set for Howard to regain fantasy relevance. It should be encouraging to Howard
owners that this Lions unit gave up a rushing touchdown to Isaiah Crowell last
week, a back that has struggled to produce all season. The Bears shouldn’t be
able to compete the entire game, but should do enough at the start to help
Howard get valuable fantasy points. He should find the endzone in Week 11.
Jay
Ajayi (PHI)
Fly
Eagles Fly, is the mantra of an enthusiastic Philly fan base, and rightfully
so. The addition of Jay Ajayi a few weeks ago has lifted the Eagles into yet
another stratosphere. They have so many options that opposing defenses must
account for that it’s become nearly impossible. The Cowboys have been middle of
the pack when it comes to defending fantasy runners, but as we saw last week
with an inept offense, the Cowboys defense becomes gassed quickly. The Eagles
brass has alluded to providing Ajayi with more playing time which should equate
to more production and ADF views this as a must start. The one concern is the
committee approach the backfield does employ; however, Ayayi may not give the
lions share of carries back if he can show consistent production.
Play with Confidence:
Marshawn
Lynch (OAK)
Mark
Ingram (NWO)
Kareem
Hunt (KC)
Alvin
Kamara (NWO) (PPR)
Jerick
McKinnon (MIN) (PPR)
Tevin
Coleman (ATL)
Duke
Johnson Jr. (CLE) (PPR)
Potential Big Day:
Austin Ekeler (LAC) (PPR)
Damien
Williams (MIA)
Dion
Lewis (NE)
Start – Tight End:
Travis
Kelce (KC)
Following
the above advice for Alex Smith, the same can be said for star Travis Kelce.
The Giants give up the most to fantasy tight ends a trend that should continue
on Sunday. This game could get ugly very quick as the Chiefs should treat this
as a tune-up game trying new creative ways to get their best playmakers the
ball. Kelce will most definitely find the endzone in Week 11; the question is
how many times.
Zach
Ertz (PHI) (PPR)
Ertz
has been one the best fantasy tight ends this season and that will continue on
Sunday Night Football. He will be leaned upon as the primary short yardage and
redzone pass catcher which could inflate his numbers this week. Ertz owners
haven’t seen a game less than 10 fantasy points (PPR) all season and should
simply just know those points are a sure thing. Zach is a matchup nightmare and
holds the slot position extremely well. He should post a line of 7 receptions,
80 yards, 1 TD on Sunday.
Jermaine
Gresham (ARZ) (PPR)
Surprise,
surprise, one of ADF’s top waiver additions of the week is now a must start.
You won’t hear us sign the praises of Gresham’s great ability and savvy
football sense, but this has all the makings of a great flyer start to get you
through a bye week or a difficult matchup. What’s the rule of thumb for any
inexperienced quarterback in trouble? Find our check down! Gresham enjoyed a
season high 7 targets last week and has found the endzone in his last two
contests. With news that Blaine Gabbert will be getting the start we should see
a similar type of volume come his way! Easy must start in PPR leagues.
Play with Confidence:
Rob
Gronkowski (NE)
Jason
Witten (DAL) (PPR)
Vernon
Davis (WAS)
Jimmy
Graham (SEA)
Potential Big Day:
Kyle
Rudolph (MIN) (PPR)
Tyler
Kroft (CIN)
