Week 9 saw its share
of up and down play with many bye weeks to deal with. Week 10 has only 4 teams
on the bye, but now is the time to set yourself up for fantasy playoffs which
is a mere 4 weeks away! Here are the
best Week 10 wavier targets. Good luck.

Quarterbacks:
Josh McCown (NYJ)
McCown and the Jets
have been playing above average football this season and he looks to continue that
trend vs a struggling Tampa Bay squad. Owned in only 35% of leagues and playing
the Bucs who give up the 9th most to fantasy QBs, he is a great
filler if you are at need. If the defense can replicate what they did to the
Bills last Thursday Night, McCown and the Jets offense will be in line for a
lot of playing time. You could do a lot worse than Josh McCown this week.
Ryan Fitzpatrick (TB)
With bye week and
injury trouble at the Quarterback position you may be stuck to find a starter
for this week. Obviously, Fitz-magic isn’t the ideal solution to your problems,
but their a few decent reasons to perhaps throw him into your lineup. The Jets
give up the 6th most to fantasy QBs this year, and Fitzpatrick is
playing his former team whom he is very familiar with. Ryan will give you and
interception of two but his short memory always allows him to bounce back and
make some plays. With the weapons the Bucs have Ryan could be in for a very
decent to good day. The potential for garbage time points is high.
Running Backs:
Matt Forte (NYJ)
Old man River came
back out of hiding last week to shred the Bills defense for 96 total yards and
2 touchdowns. Owned in 44% of leagues it may be time to re-roster Matt Forte at
least on your bench. He again holds some value in matchups that are favorable
to runners as the Jets seem to employ a hot hand three back system. He should
be a boom or bust candidate most weeks, however, it seems the Jets have again
figured out to use the former all-pro. Forte will provide value as we gear up
for the playoffs.
Rob Kelley (WAS)
If you haven’t already,
it’s time to jump back on the Rob Kelley wagon. Owned in 32% of leagues Kelley
looked healthy and powerful vs a stout Seahawks run defense. He didn’t light
the world on fire with yards but found the endzone twice on the goal line. He
has a difficult match this week vs the Vikings and the 2nd best run defense
against fantasy backs, however, Kelley has found his way back to being the top
back running the ball. This is more of a bench addition as a favorable schedule
awaits Kelley in the next five weeks. Rob will lose out on work to Chris
Thompson, but is back to being a matchup option.
Tarik Cohen (CHI)
Cohen who has seen his
production falter since the infusion of rookie QB Mitchell Trubisky may change
this week. Still available in 46% of leagues he has a great matchup vs the
struggling Green Bay Packers. The Packers give up the 5th most to
running backs and as witnessed from Monday Night Football, the Lions who can’t
run the ball ran it very well. Tarik has high upside in PPR leagues over
standard for obvious reasons but should be a solid pickup and play if you need
a RB.
Jamaal Charles (DEN)
The Denver Broncos
were absolutely destroyed last week at the hands of the Eagles, a scene we haven’t
witnessed in many years. Playing the Patriots in Week 10 most will expect the
same type of type of result (maybe not so bad), but still a tough match. The
Broncos will try and go back to basics in running the football and controlling
the clock. Owned in 20% of leagues, Jamaal may be used in a three-back committee
to force the run vs the Patriots who give up the 4th most to RBs.
Not the best option out here but in deeper leagues he may help you out this
week.
Damien Williams (MIA)
Williams and Drake did
look decent on Sunday Night Football vs the Oakland Raiders. Williams looked
more powerful and decisive with his carries as Adam Gase will most definitely
employ a multi-back system. Drake is the more agile runner poised to break the
big run where Williams will service as the short yardage and goal line back. Owned
in only 33% of leagues Damien is a good value addition to any team. Williams is
very capable at catching the ball as seen from his six targets and six
receptions, as Cutler found him with regularity. Very good pick up here.
Wide Receivers:
Terrance Williams (DAL)
Of course, the popular
additions are the players that blow up the week before, but temper the
expectations on Williams. Basically, free to pick up in every league he should
be a popular bench stash as his value grew again from last week’s performance.
Williams has always had the ability, the issue at hand was the number of
targets he receives in the Cowboys offense. Gaining trust from Dak should only
improve his targets, but this needs to be proven a few more time before you can
trust Williams. Great bench stash pickup.
Robert Woods (LAR)
ADF has sung the
praises of Woods these last few weeks and he again proved his value. Woods tore
up the Giants secondary as the Rams offense is flying high and keeps producing
at an elite level. Jared Goff is consistently finding all his playmakers,
making this LA team extremely difficult to stop. Woods value is higher in PPR
leagues but may be on the radar in standard leagues moving forward. Owned in
36% of leagues he should be there for you to grab.
Eric Decker (TEN)
Decker finally found
his way back into the endzone and may begin to be a bigger part of the offense.
Owned in 33% of leagues here is another good bench stash or even a potential starter
in deeper leagues. With Corey Davis back on the field, this will only help
Decker get open and rebuild the trust with Mariota. He is another player that
will have to prove his value before you play him but if you require a WR Decker
is back on the radar.
Dede Westbrook (JAX)
The unveiling of rookie Dede Westbrook was put on hold last week as the
Jags decided not to activate him from injured reserve. The Jacksonville brain
trust has assured that Dede will play this week vs the Chargers and we couldn’t
be more excited. The Jags are beginning to find their stride riding the run
game along with a powerful defense, easing the reliance of Blake Bortles to
carry this team. Blake has played well these last few weeks which increases the
potential for Westbrook to fly out of the gates. He is a must pick up for his
high upside potential.
Corey Coleman (CLE)
Not much good to speak
of coming out of Cleveland, but one ray of sunshine may be coming down the
pike. Coleman is back practicing and should be activated in week 11. The
expectations are set low at this point, but we have seen the playmaking ability
from Corey in the past. If he can finally stay on the field, even the terrible
play of the Browns QBs should improve with a game plan to get Coleman the ball
in space. His value would reside higher in PPR leagues and is worth a stash on
the bench if you have the room.
Curtis Samuel (CAR)
Another ADF favorite that hasn’t yet materialized is Curtis Samuel. With
the trade of Kelvin Benjamin, Samuel already has benefited from the added
targets. As he begins to work and gain Cam’s trust, he will be a viable receiving
option in Carolina. The Panthers have a great schedule upcoming where Samuel
should be involved to see on average 4-7 targets a game.
Tight Ends:
Eric Ebron (DET)
If you are stuck at TE
this week you may want to consider Ebron to fill the void. Yes, Eric has been a
big disappointment this season but he has an A+ matchup vs the Browns who give
up the 2nd most to fantasy TEs on the year. The Lions looked
impressive on Monday Night but the Browns do excel in covering WRs. Ebron
should be able to find room and possibly the endzone this week.
Tyler Higbee (LAR)
Not much in the wire
for value at the TE spot, but one man to consider is the Rams Higbee. As the
starter in a powerful offense Tyler might once again find the endzone as the
Rams play the Texans who give up the 6th most to fantasy tight ends.
His is literally a boom or bust candidate, but if you need an option that could
produce Higbee might be your guy.
Best Week 10 Defense Stream:
Pittsburgh – Playing Indianapolis
Carolina – Playing Miami
Detroit – Playing Cleveland
Chicago – Playing Green Bay
NY Jets – Playing Tampa Bay
NY Giants – Playing San
Francisco
