Week 7 was interesting
to say the least as the season has been filled with injury after injury. Bye
weeks continue to be an issue for starting lineups so let’s see if we can find
good players to target off the waiver. Here are the best Week 8 wavier targets.
Good luck.

Quarterbacks:
Andy Dalton (CIN)
The QB pickup or
stream of the week will go to Andy Dalton. He has an A+ matchup against the
helpless Colts and is owned in only 55% of leagues. The Bengals will definitely
get back on track vs a weak opponent. Andy should have a big day. If you are in
need of a QB this week Dalton should be your guy.
Tyrod Taylor (BUF)
Another opportunity for
Tyrod to prove his critics wrong playing against the Oakland Raiders. Owned in
only 58% of leagues he has a good matchup vs a defense prone to give up big
plays. The Bills and Tyrod looked great last week and the Bills look to keep
rolling. Great stream option if you are in need.
Matt Moore (MIA)
If the top 2 QBs are
already gone (Dalton & Taylor), you may want to consider Matt Moore. He has
always been an efficient backup when forced into the starting role. With Cutler
out and playing against the Ravens on a short week, this might not be the best
play, but the limited tape on Moore could confuse the Ravens early. Could be a
solution if you are stuck.
Case Keenum (MIN)
Keenum has done a good
job filling in as the starter for the Vikings and has that offense humming. The
Browns defense ranks high in the rankings; however, the Vikings will have every
opportunity to put points on the board. Cleveland gives up the 7th
most to fantasy QBs, so Keenum could be the guy if you are really stuck.
Running Backs:
Jalen Richard (OAK)
With Marshawn Lynch
suspended this week the expectation is that Richard will be the front runner in
the Raiders back field. Playing against a Bills defense that has played very
well this season it might be tough sledding, but he should dominate the
touches.
DeAndre Washington (OAK) (PPR)
If Richard is gone off
the wire, the next possible option could be Washington. His appeal mainly will
reside in PPR leagues and the Raiders will use him more as the 3rd
down back. He won’t have any standalone value when Lynch comes back, but if you
need a filler he could put up some numbers.
Giovani Bernard (CIN) (PPR)
Bernard has underwhelmed
this season, but this could be the game he gets back into the mix. Value should
only reside in PPR leagues having an A+ matchup vs the Colts. If this game gets
out of hand early, Gio could be in for a lot of cleanup work. Boom or Bust!
Dion Lewis (NE)
Lewis is a popular add
this week as the Patriots seems to reintegrate him into the offense. He looked
explosive last week, and as we all know, production drives snaps from
Belichick. He should be on your roster as a bench stash at this point.
Wide
Receivers:
Marvin Jones Jr. (DET)
Marvin Jones still
sitting in 38% of waivers needs to be added if he’s there. Jones should
dominate the targets with the absence of Golden Tate as he will be Stafford’s
number one option. He doesn’t have the best matchup this week but if you need a
WR he is the top add.
Kenny Golladay (DET) / TJ Jones (DET) (PPR)
As Golladay might be
the more attractive add, his health status is still uncertain. Golladay has
proven he has the playmaking ability and could have a big game this week, again
if healthy. The sleeper option off the wavier this week is TJ Jones! He should
take over the slot duties and could pose as a PPR threat. You should be able to
wait on Jones until the status of Golladay is confirmed.
Josh Doctson (WAS)
You can’t ignore the
fact that Doctson has seen more snaps and finding his way to the end of games un-injured.
Playing this week at home to the Cowboys there should be ample opportunities
for Josh to get his 5 targets. He is definitely worth a bench stash.
JuJu Smith-Schuster (PIT)
He has made his case
as a primary receiving option in this Steelers offense and that should continue.
Playing the slot, Ben has found trust in the rookie and is a threat to find the
endzone in any game. He is a must add and a matchup player right now moving
forward.
Travis Benjamin (LAC) (PPR)
Always a boom or bust
option for the Chargers he might have some appeal to those in need of a good
matchup at WR. The Patriots seemed to get their defense in order last week, but
I wouldn’t be fooled just yet. He has PPR value and should find his way to some
more targets after last week’s good performance.
Deonte Thompson (BUF)
Only in deep leagues you
may want to take a flyer on the Bills new WR Thompson. He may have carved out a
role in this offense to which most opponents won’t be expecting. Tyrod was able
to find him early and often and this may be the trend moving forward. If you
have room he may be worth a bench stash.
Tight Ends:
Tyler Kroft (CIN)
If by now Kroft isn’t owned
in your league there is something wrong. Owned in only 16% of leagues and
having a fantastic matchup vs the Colts this week, you need to jump on the
Tyler Eifert clone. He is the number 2 options for Dalton after AJ Green and
will dominate redzone targets. Even if you have a tight end he’s a must add for
depth.
OJ Howard (TB)
The speculative addition
this week goes to OJ Howard. I love the skill-set from OJ and feel now is the
time the Bucs will open the playbook to their rookie potential star. Proved
with a fantastic game last week vs the Bills, he may start to see his fair
share of targets. Still risky to play he is worth a bench stash if you have the
room.
Jared Cook (OAK)
A good play this week
vs a strong Bills defense is the Raiders Jarod Cook. The Bills weakness is LB
coverage and give up the 9th most to opposing TE’s, so Cook could be
in for a decent day. The Bills should lock down the Raider run attack and the
focus will be on Cooper & Crabtree. Cook is a great streaming option this
week.
Best Week 8
