Start - Quarterback:
Carson Wentz (PHI)
Carson has become a
must start in fantasy football and has a juicy matchup vs the lowly 49ers! San
Fran gives up the 2nd most to QBs this year and just came off a disaster
last week giving up 40 to the Cowboys. Playing at home will give the Eagles
more of an advantage (as if they needed more), but this could be a career day
for Wentz. Start him and laugh all the way to the bank.
Philip Rivers (LAC)
Rivers is still
competing at a high level and has a great matchup vs the worst defense in the
NFL in New England. The Chargers are on a 3-game win streak riding high and
should be able to make this a contest. Philip will lean on Gordon to open the
pass but should get things going early and often. Rivers is a must start this
week.
Deshaun Watson (HOU)
Could this be the game
we see the rookie wall hit Watson? Playing in Seattle facing the 12th
man is a huge task for any QB let alone a rookie signal caller. At this point it’s
impossible to bench Deshaun based on his incredible play. The Seahawks give up
the 2nd least to fantasy QBs, so that would suggest a must bench for Watson.
That being said, he has the hot hand, is a duel threat, and is coming off the
bye so would have extra prep time to stick it to the Hawks. If he can pull this
game out we could be witnessing a very special talent.
Dak Prescott (DAL)
The game of the week
should be a great content between the Cowboys and the Redskins. Dak has been
lights out in the last four games producing nothing under 25 fantasy points
with a ceiling of 34! The Redskins defense will get Josh Norman back in the
lineup which should pose a challenge for Dez, but I would still bet that Dak
will find his man in the endzone this week. He should account for at least 3
TDs.
Kirk Cousins (WAS)
The other side of the
game of the week is Kirk Cousins. Dallas gives up the 10th most to
fantasy QBs and much like Dak, Kirk has produced elite level fantasy play over
the last four games. Providing nothing less than 22 points with a ceiling of 31
over the last four should give you confidence in a potential shootout Sunday
afternoon. Play Kirk with extreme confidence.
Play with Confidence:
Cam Newton (CAR)
Russell Wilson (SEA)
Drew Brees (NWO)
Matt Ryan (ATL)
Tom Brady (NE)
Potential Big Day:
Case Keenum (MIN)
Tyrod Taylor (BUF)
Andy Dalton (CIN)
Start - Wide Receiver:
AJ Green (CIN)
Green has one of the
best matchups at WR this week and should go off! The Colts give up the 7th
most to WRs, but in reality, they are much worse than that. Vonte Davis will
get the task of covering the all-star this week, and may win a few battles,
however AJ is prime to explode. I can see 8-10rec 120 yrds 1-2 TDs for green!
Enjoy!
Kelvin Benjamin (CAR)
The Panthers have
looked very average the last few weeks but it’s hard to ignore the A+ matchup
vs the Bucs in week 8. The major concern with Kelvin is the gimpy knee he has
been supporting all season, and could get knocked out of any contest. If he can
manage to make it through the game the potential for a return to the endzone definitely
exists. I like Benjamin to go 6rec-85yards-1TD this week. He may lose targets
to Funchess but should get enough to make an impact.
Brandin Cooks (NE)
Always difficult to
predict any player these days to produce for the Patriots in fantasy. This game
has the potential to be a shootout, and cooks should get his fair chance at
making plays vs the Chargers 8th worst pass defense to fantasy WRs. This
could be a boom or bust play, but I’m loving the potential for Cooks to get
back into the endzone.
Keenan Allen (LAC)
(PPR)
Allen has been a fantastic
PPR play all season but has disappointed his standard league owners with not
finding the endzone since week 1 vs the Broncos. This could be the week he gets
back into the green vs a Pats defense that gives up the 3rd most to
fantasy WRs. This game should provide lots of entertainment and fantasy points.
Julio Jones (ATL)
The Falcons are on a
slide losing 3 games in a row looking to have lost their mojo on the offensive side
of the ball. What better way to find their swagger then to play a Jets team
prone to giving up big plays. The Jets give up the 10th most to
fantasy WRs, and the Falcons have promised to get Julio more targets especially
in the redzone. This is a big game for Atlanta as they need to have a monster performance
to get back on track. Julio should eclipse 100 yards and 1 TD in this one.
Play with Confidence:
Adam Thielen (MIN) (PPR)
Chris Hogan (NE)
Michael Crabtree (OAK)
Antonio Brown (PIT)
Michael Thomas (NWO)
Mike Evans (TB)
Nelson Agholor (PHI)
Potential Big Day:
Devin Funchess (CAR)
Josh Doctson (WAS)
TJ Jones (DET) (PPR)
JuJu Smith-Schuster
(PIT)
Start - Running Back:
Melvin Gordon (LAC)
Gordon has again
proved he belongs in the conversation of best backs in the NFL. This guy has made
plays all season (with exception to last week). In an A+ matchup, the Patriots
give up the 6th most to fantasy backs and Melvin is primed for a
huge game. Furthermore, the Patriots got news they lost starting LB and run
stuffer Hightower for the season, which will only help Melvin. Gordon will feel
like he can drive a semi-truck through the holes he will see on Sunday. He will
find the endzone this week.
LeVeon Bell (PIT)
Enter the most consistent
back since week 3, with a nice matchup vs a Lions team that gives up the 8th
most to fantasy running backs. Bell is seeing 25-30 touches a game and should
again be the main workhorse for the Steelers offense. Bell is a fantastic
talent as we all know, and is running for a new contract in the offseason. The
Lions won’t be able to contain this man on Sunday and we will see massive
numbers in a potentially high scoring game.
LeGarrette Blount
(PHI)
Blount has underwhelmed
the last 3 weeks as the Eagles have leaned on the pass game to get things done.
This week Blount will get his opportunities on the goal-line and should find
his way in. He will be a boom or bust play this week, but playing the 49ers who
give up the most to fantasy runners I have the sneaky suspicion he gets
15car-65 yrds-1TD this week.
LeSean McCoy (BUF)
Shady and the Bills continue
to buy in and roll with Coach McDermott and the new brain-trust, to get the
Bills organization turned around to become a winner once again. The Bills were
true to their word last week to get the run game and Shady going which they did
with great success. Shady found the endzone twice last week and should continue
that dominance vs the Raiders defense that is prone to give up big plays. Shady
will continue to see work in the pass game making him a great start in PPR
leagues, but should find the endzone again for the standard league owners.
Jordan Howard (CHI)
Even though the Bears haven’t
figured out how to effectively throw the ball under Trubisky, the run game has
had its moments of efficiency. Playing against a Saints defense that has shown
signs of improvement these last 4 weeks, Howard should be still be able to find
holes to run through. The Bears defense has played great this season giving the
ball back to the offense, which could happen in this one as well. The Saints
give up the 12th most to fantasy running backs and Howard should be
able to top 100 yards in this one.
Play with Confidence:
Mark Ingram (NWO)
Chris Thompson (WAS)
(PPR)
Zeke Elliott (DAL)
Devonta Freeman (ATL)
Christian McCaffrey
(CAR) (PPR)
Potential Big Day:
Ameer Abdullah (DET)
(PPR)
Joe Mixon (CIN)
Matt Forte (NYJ)
Start – Tight End:
Hunter Henry (LAC)
Henry has the matchup
of the week at the tight end position, playing the Patriots and that weak
defense. The Pats give up the 7th most to tight ends and the
Chargers have been able to find the athletic freak with more consistency these
last 4 weeks. Between Gordon and Allen, Hunter will find his fair share of
targets.
Travis Kelce (KC)
Kelce is a must start
most weeks but this week he has a great matchup as the leaky Broncos LB core won’t
be able to cover Travis for most of the day. Denver gives up the 5th
most to fantasy tight ends and with his super-star ability he should be able to
make plays and put up points. The Broncos offense hasn’t been able to cut it as
of late, making that defense have to play a lot of minutes, allowing the
opposing offenses to take advantage. Kelce should have a big day.
Jimmy Graham (SEA)
Jimmy had a few key
drops last week but for the most part has been consistent since week 3. The Seahawks
and Russell Wilson seem to have figured out their uneven play as of late,
looking like a completely different team. Jimmy is a big part of that offense
and I believe he will be leaned upon heavily to make plays on Sunday.
Play with Confidence:
Austin
Seferian-Jenkins (NYJ)
Kyle Rudolph (MIN)
George Kittle (SF)
Zach Ertz (PHI)
Potential Big Day:
Jason Witten (DAL)
Jared Cook (OAK)
