Week 6 was once again filled
with massive season changing injuries compounded with bye weeks. The waiver
will become very important to fill your squad and add extra depth. Here are the
best Week 7 wavier targets. Good luck.

Quarterbacks:
Blake Bortles (JAX)
If you are in
desperate need of a QB this week you may want to look no farther than Blake
Bortles. He has an A+ match-up vs the Colts and should provide points. Bortles hasn’t
been anything to write home about but could provide you relief this week if you
are stuck.
Brett Hundley (GB)
To all the Aaron
Rodgers owners that had their season completely derailed with the news he was
out for the season. By now most teams are holding multiple QBs to cover their
bye weeks, but let’s not fully sleep on Hundley. He has good athletic skill and
is an above average passer; let’s not forget he has played behind Rodgers for a
while now and should’ve learned something. This will be a true wait and see
thing, but throwing him on your bench after losing Aaron won’t be a bad thing. If
he actually hits then you stuck gold.
Running backs:
Darren McFadden / Alfred Morris (DAL)
Both backs are currently
owned in approximately 50% of leagues and should be owned by most. The uncertainty
of what will happen with Elliott (currently suspended), makes both these backs
prime to take the lead in Dallas. This will be a committee approach but the
Cowboys will ride the hot hand moving forward.
Chris Ivory (JAX)
Ivory has climbed his
way back into fantasy relevance the last few weeks even with Fournette playing extremely
well. The Jags have an A+ match-up vs the Colts on a short week and Leonard
tweaked his ankle to which could limit his playing time. If you need a back to
play in week 7 Ivory could vulture a TD in this one.
Marlon Mack (IND)
Still owned in only
46% of leagues Mack is a must own and at least bench stash at this point. He
has shown his skill-set though showing his rookie mistakes which lead to fewer
touches on Monday Night. Having Turbin go down with an ugly arm injury will
only increase Mack’s value. If he’s there scoop him up.
Giovani Bernard (CIN) (PPR)
Gio has flown under
the radar so far this year being owned in 25% of leagues. He does provide
upside in PPR leagues only as he still should have a decent role in the pass
game. With all the injuries and bye weeks Bernard is a great pickup to help get
you through.
Orleans Darkwa (NYG)
The Giants ran very
well last week with Darkwa against one of the best defenses in the NFL in
Denver. I’m still not 100% sold that New York can replicate that type of
production on the ground every week with Darkwa, but he is definitely worth a
look and a bench stash.
Rob Kelley (WAS)
Owned in 44% of
leagues it might be time to snag Kelley of the waiver. Once he is confirmed
healthy he should be able to take the majority of the carries in that Skins
backfield. Chris Thompson is without question the primary producer but if
Kelley can find his stride we could see decent production out of him moving
forward.
Wide
Receivers:
Marvin Jones Jr. (DET)
Marvin Jones is a must
pick up and is owned in only 55% of leagues. Yes the Lions are on the bye this
week, however news broke that Golden Tate will miss time due to injury. Jones
is very capable and can make big plays. His added volume should provide
anywhere from 5-8 more targets per game while Tate is out. If he’s there snag
him!
Bennie Fowler (DEN) (PPR)
Fowler has had his
moments this year proving he can make plays in the league. With news that
Sanders will be out some time with an injury, the natural move is to grab the
next man up, and in this case it’s Fowler. I believe his appeal will be larger
in PPR leagues as he should provide a supporting role to Thomas. He is definitely
worth a look over.
Robert Woods (LAR)
(PPR)
Yet again Woods is
proving to be a reliable target for Goff and the Rams. He is very sure handed
and has become a safety blanket for Jared Goff. With a great match-up vs the
Cardinals this week we could make the argument that he is a must play in PPR
leagues. I really like Woods and he should have a spot on your bench at least.
His late season schedule looks very promising as well!
Taylor Gabriel (ATL) (PPR)
The Falcons have been
an utter mess since losing to the Buffalo Bills. The thoughts were the bye week
would’ve fixed their problems, however we saw much of the same uneven play.
Gabriel still offers good upside in PPR leagues while Sanu is in the medical
room rehabbing. Atlanta has a juicy match-up vs the Patriots defense that has
trouble stopping anyone. Worth a flyer this week!
Josh Doctson (WAS)
Now might be the time
to snag Doctson of the wire and hold him on your bench. The Skins have slowly
started integrating him into the offense to which he has responded. As long as
Josh can stay on the field and capitalize on his opportunities he should have a
role moving forward. He is a big sleeper right now but may not be in a few
weeks.
Eric Decker (TEN)
Decker currently is
owned in only 43% of leagues and we should be looking in his direction. He had
his best game of the season on Monday Night seeing a whopping 9 targets! Decker
proved he still has some game left in the tank and should begin to see more
looks even when rookie Davis comes back from injury. Mariota seems to trust
Decker more every week.
Tight Ends:
Austin Hooper (ATL)
As seen last week, if
Sanu is absent Matt Ryan tends to look in Hooper’s direction. Owned in 50% of
leagues there is a great opportunity to snag him for a great match-up against
the Patriots. Atlanta should have a better game in Week 7 and Hooper should
provide value if you are in need of a TE.
George Kittle (SF)
Kittle intrigues me in
the 49er offence more now with the change at QB to Beathard. Rookie
quarterbacks tend to favor finding their tight-end early and often as their
first check down. Playing the Cowboys this week offers an interesting matchup
where Kittle could see his fair share of targets. The 49ers seem to compete
every week and I expect the same moving forward.
Tyler Kroft (CIN)
By default Kroft has
become the Bengals starting tight-end and he is a player that can produce.
Coming off the bye week Tyler should be more adept in this offense and could
see between 4-7 targets a game. His size is very much clone like to Tyler
Eifert and he should remain the Bengals #2 receiving option. Do not sleep on
this man, he will produce.
