Week 4 was filled with injuries and lack-luster play. This
is the beginning of Bye Weeks so snagging the best players to help fill your
roster will be important to get over the hump!

Quarterbacks:
Deshaun Watson (HOU)
This week’s QB to grab is money-man
Watson. His progression has been fantastic so far improving every single week.
Last week’s showing of 5 total touchdowns was incredibly impressive for a
rookie QB learning the game. Houston is set up on defense to give the ball back
to the offence while a solid run attack keeps the opponent honest. His week 5
vs KC is a tough match, but he has Cleveland in week 6! He is a must grab.
Jared Goff (LAR)
Goff still owned in only 25% of leagues gives you the
ability to have a starting caliber QB to cover you for the Bye weeks. He also
has great match-up value. The Rams offence will only continue to improve so Goff
should help you down the road. Great bench stash here.
Tyrod Taylor (BUF)
Taylor owned in approximately 45% of leagues provides
you the ability to plug and play him vs a weaker opponent. The Bills seem to understand
the roles of the offence and on any given Sunday, Tyrod can get you points with
his arm as his legs. He has decent match-ups down the pike so he could provide
value when needed.
Jacoby Brissett (IND)
If you are completely stuck at the QB position in week
5 you may want to take a flyer on Brissett. The Colts have the lowly 49ers
coming to town to which Jacoby should be able to make things happen. Brissett
has the ability to make plays with his legs which is always a plus benefit for
fantasy football. Deeper leagues he may be your start.
Guys to watch: Mitchell Trubisky (CHI), EJ Manuel
(OAK)
Running backs:
Jerick Mckinnon (MIN) / Latavius Murray (MIN)
With the devastating injury to Dalvin Cook the Vikings
will be in tough to replace all that production from the rookie star. This will
become a full blown hot hand and committee back field now. Mckinnon has more
athletic ability then Murray, but no doubt Murray will be the goal-line back.
Keep in mind both are not 100% healthy.
D’Onta Foreman (HOU)
Foreman has become a favorite player in most circles
these last 2 weeks. While I fully agree that he has talent and could be the #1
RB in Houston, Miller still is the man. As the season wears on Foreman will see
his carries rise to keep Miller upright and not in the medical room. He is a
great bench stash in the event Miller does go down.
Aaron Jones (GB)
I will be extremely surprised if Montgomery will
return to action in the next two weeks. Jones looked capable filling in last
Thursday Night. He is more of a downhill runner that should have every opportunity
to steal goal-line touches. With the high power pass game I believe he is the top
wavier add at RB this week. When Montgomery returns his value will diminish.
Elijah McGuire (NYJ)
The biggest sleeper addition at RB for week 5 is
McGurie. ADF mentioned his name in the off-season as a man that potentially
could make some noise this season. With Matt Forte dealing with turf-toe McGuire
stepped in and proved what he can do. He posted a whopping 131 total yards and
1 TD. The Jets travel to Cleveland with an A+ match-up for Elijah. From what we
hear Forte should sit again in week 5 so McGuire is a no-brainier!
Eddie Lacy (SEA)
With Chris Carson breaking his ankle last week Lacy
returns to see carries in the Hawks backfield. His usage will be hit and miss
unless he produces at a high level. The Seattle backfield is an upright mess
with Rawls, Prosise (PPR), J.D Mckissic (PPR) all having the ability to take
touches away.
C.J Prosise (SEA) (PPR), J.D Mckissic (SEA) (PPR), Gio
Bernard (CIN) (PPR), Wayne Gallman (NYG), Corey Clement (PHI), Kenyan Drake
(MIA),
Wide Receivers:
JuJu Smith-Schuster (PIT)
JuJu should be treated as a hot commodity for week 5
WR waiver additions. He has earned the slot role in the Steelers offence and he
will not give it back so long he stays healthy. He is a perfect fit in the
Steeler offence and his production should only continue to rise.
Will Fuller (HOU)
If you were smart enough to snag Fuller of the waiver
last week once the news broke he was returning, he probably loaded your bench points,
which isn’t a bad thing. With the exceptional play of Watson, Fuller’s value should
remain high. He is a super speedster that should receive his share of the
targets. Must add this week.
Adam Humphries (TB) (PPR)
The forgotten man in the Bucs offence is Adam
Humphries. He quietly has put together productive PPR games. It may be
difficult to predict his every week production but if you’re stuck for a WR he
is worth a look, PPR only.
Kendal Wright (CHI) (PPR)
We will have to wait and see the production (if any)
Trubisky will provide the Bears offence. Wright has always been a safety valve
for QB’s to which I believe he will in fact have that role for Mitchell. At
this point he is a bench stash but may pay off down the road.
Jaron Brown (ARZ)
For all J.J Nelson owners - it’s very strange that all
the WRs on the Cardinals roster seem to jump over Nelson regardless if he
produces. Last week it was Jaron Brown who stole the targets from J.J. I’m not
a huge fan of Jaron but he has play-making ability. If you require a WR he
could be your guy.
Guys to watch: Zay Jones (BUF), Robby Anderson
(NYJ), Curtis Samuel (CAR), Travis Benjamin (LAC) (PPR), Taywan Taylor (TEN)
Tight Ends:
Tyler Kroft (CIN)
Kroft is what Eifert is
supposed to be in this Bengal offence. He might be in tough vs a Bills team
that defends very well. That said, Eifert has a major injury history where
Kroft and his big play ability could land him the starting role.
Charles Clay (BUF)
Aside from Shady McCoy the
biggest weapon so far has been Clay. Clay has always possessed speed and hands,
but finally he seems to be healthy enough to show-case that. The Bills brass finally
understands it’s imperative to feed this man the ball. With Jordan Matthews out
for a month expect the Bills to lean on Clay in the pass game.
O.J Howard (TB)
Speculative addition here
with Howard. He caught his first career touchdown last week and it seems they
may want to increase his role in the pass game. Temper the expectations as we
need to see more of a consistent role to be convinced. In deeper leagues he is
a must add bench stash.
Gerald Everett (LAR)
With Goff and the Rams
playing the Seahawks with their difficult secondary, Everett might find his way
into the endzone as the Rams WRs may be in tough. Again temper the expectations
but if your team is in need of a Tight End he may be worth a look.
Guys to watch: Austin Seferian Jenkins (NYJ),
Jesse James (PIT) , Evan
Engram (NYG)
