Week 3 showed very exciting football all over the
NFL. The week of upsets was upon us as many top end teams couldn’t find a way
to get it done, or just barely squeaked it out. Here is your guide to the best
available and the ones to keep your eye on.

Quarterbacks:
Jared Goff (LAR)
Goff has impressed me a lot so far and the way
McVay has this offence running I believe there is plenty more to see. McVay is
one of the bright young minds that has figured out how to coach up this young
man and I really look forward to see what they can do vs the Cowboys. Worth a
bench stash for bye weeks at this point.
Trevor Siemian (DEN)
Siemain didn’t look the part vs a great underrated
Bills defense in week 3, however I believe he will bounce back at home vs a
Raiders team that will also look to get back on track. This could be a shootout
and if you’re in need a QB, Trevor might be your guy.
Tyrod Taylor (BUF)
Tyrod is doing what Tyrod does best, make plays and
doesn’t turn the ball over. Two out of three games Tyrod has eclipsed 20
fantasy points and could be worth a look vs the Falcons team that has trouble
on defence.
Blake Bortles (JAX)
For the record I’m not a huge fan of Bortles but
there may be an opportunity to cash in on his match-up vs the NY Jets.
Temper the expectations as this game is in New York and travel hasn’t been kind
to the Jags. But if you’re stuck this week Blake might be worth it.
Guys to watch: Deshaun Watson (HOU)
Running backs:
Chris Thompson (WAS) As
mentioned by ADF a couple weeks ago as a must add. Thompson still remains in
about 20% of leagues and needs to be on your roster. He is such a dynamic
talent that the Redskins can’t ignore giving him the ball as much as he can
handle. PPR star!
Chris Carson (Sea) As
mentioned weeks ago, go pick up this man! Carson most likely is long gone but
he still remains in 25% of leagues; if you get him count yourself lucky, as he
shouldn’t be here next week. Seattle looks to get back to their offensive ways
and Carson will be the guy to help them get there.
Wendell Smallwood (PHI) (PPR) With
Sproles going down last week the biggest beneficiary in the offence should
go to Smallwood. He is the most adept to pick up Sproles role in the receiving
game which will make him attractive in PPR formats. He will lose goal line
work to Blount and Clement.
Andre Ellington (ARZ) (PPR) Since
Johnson went down I have been preaching to pick up Ellington in PPR formats. He
proved his value on Monday Night Football and I believe will be the main check
down for Palmer moving forward. He is a great add in PPR leagues.
Jamaal Charles (DEN) I
was a supporter of Charles coming into the fantasy draft, but was unsure of his
usage in the Denver offence coming off another serious knee injury. He is more
then a speculative add at this point as he has earned more touches moving
forward. He is a great bench stash and a possible match-up flex starter in the
coming weeks.
Darren McFadden/Alfred Morris (DAL) This
week will be the week to jump on the Cowboys backup RB train just in case
Elliott does get suspended after the court ruling. Its better to be proactive
in this case but don’t sacrifice your roster for this move. If you have the
room I suggest you start with McFadden.
Guys to watch: Corey Clement (PHI), Alex
Collins (BAL), D’Onta Foeman (HOU), Branden Oliver (LAC)
Wide Receivers:
Alex Hurns (JAX) He
has become a must add in all formats as he has clearly run away with the #1 WR
job in Jacksonville since the Robinson injury. I’m not a believer in the Jags
but there is so much upside here you cant ignore. More often than not the Jags
could be trailing in games to which Hurns will get plenty of garbage time
points. And if by chance they are in the lead, there is a great chance Hurns
has something to do with it.
Sterling Shepard (NYG) Is
it safe to say the Marshall experiment has been a bust and the Giants are
turning back to the impressive youngster in Shepard? I believe Marshall will at
some point get back on track but Sterling is a guy to add. He created plays and
helped move the offence last week. Temper the expectations as the Giants
offence will be up and down.
Robert Woods (LAR) (PPR) Woods
has once again proved he belongs in the NFL with great sound play after sound
play. In an offence that is conducive to his skill-set he is a very
attractive addition this week. Sammy Watikins proved again he is an injury
liability and Woods could step in and make plays. Don’t hesitate to add Woods
this week.
Paul Richardson (SEA) Richardson
is only on this list due to the injury to Doug Baldwin. If Baldwin sits he is a
plug-in player that should produce. If Baldwin’s injury isn't serious its
extremely difficult to see consistent production coming from Paul.
Buyer-beware.
Curtis Samuel (CAR) This
could be a few weeks too early but I cant get Samuel of my watch list.
This man is Percy Harvin 2.0 and the Panthers should be utilizing his
talents NOW! The reason we haven't seen much of him yet is that he was
off-injured during camp and took some time to get caught up. With the potential
of Benjamin missing some time and/or playing hobbled, now is the time to
grab Samuel and stash him on the bench and wait for the returns to come cashing
in. This is all suspect to the health of Cam of course, but if you have
the room add this mam.
Guys to watch: Taylor Gabriel (ATL), Robby
Anderson (NYJ), Josh Doctson (WAS),
Zay Jones (BUF), Travis Benjamin LAC, JuJu
Smith-Schuster (PIT), Will Fuller (HOU)
Tight Ends:
Vernen Davis (WAS) With
the constant uncertainty on Jordan Reed’s health, Davis is a must add for all
Reed owners. The TE crop again has been very disappointing in 2017 and if you
require a filler this week, watch the injury report and unleash Davis if Reed
sits again.
Charles Clay (BUF) Clay
is very difficult to predict from week to week, but I feel like the Bills
finally understand how to use him. He should be a great play vs the Falcons
this week and a good look to get into the end zone again. Temper the
expectations as his production varies greatly.
Mercedes Lewis (JAX) A
very speculative add this week is Lewis. He is the complete forgotten man in an
offence in need of play-makers. Lewis has always been able to produce in the
redzone and with Robinson gone for the year they may have found the fountain of
youth in resurrecting Lewis back into relevance. Tight Ends are so scarce that
this is purely a wait and see addition.
David Njoku (CLE) Consistency
is the name of the game and the lack of high producing TE’s is staggering to which
Njoku has found the endzone on very limited targets. If you are in dire need,
you might want to take a shot here, he likes getting TDs. Very large boom or
bust here, keep that in mind.
Guys to watch: Jared Cook (OAK), Gerald
Everett (LAR), Austin Seferian Jenkins (NYJ),
George Kittle (SF), Jesse James (PIT)
