Well the fantasy season sure moves quick, the last
three regular season weeks are upon us. Entering week 11, these could be your
last attempts at securing a playoff spot to have a shot at the coveted fantasy
trophy. While we understand by this time, the waiver wire has become supremely thin;
there is still ample opportunity to snag matchup talent that could help the
cause. There’s no question about it, its crunch time and mistakes can’t be had
in the short term. With another six team bye-week upon us, this could be the
most important wire submission of the season for some clubs. Let’s go shopping
for those extra pieces that could provide potentially solid earnings. Good Luck…
BYE WEEK: Bills, Browns, Dolphins, Patriots,
Jets, 49ers
Quarterbacks:
While this week does possess six teams on the bye,
most clubs on the week off don’t employ a top flight fantasy passer which would
force the hand of managers to switch out their quarterback. However, a few juicy
matchups do exist at the position that could make you question the possible
upgrade for the week. Dak Prescott has found himself back in the good-books
after seeing a better performance last week against the Eagles, and having a
favorable schedule upcoming. Seeing a great matchup against the Falcons this
week, Dak could very well be a giant upgrade to secure 20 fantasy points.
Eli Manning (NYG) (17%)
Many scoffed, criticised and devalued our analysis
last week when we mentioned Eli Manning as a fantastic pickup and a must start
at quarterback in week 10. While we stood by our evaluation, Manning in fact
returned the favor in scoring more fantasy points then Cam Newton, Aaron
Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes, Jared Goff, and Matt Ryan to name a few. Eli once
again has a fantastic matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at home in New
York where you could again plug-and-play seeing great results. It’s clear to us
(as well) that Eli doesn’t have much left in the tank, but playing with Barkley
and Odell always provides value in a solid matchup. We have no issue to recommend
Manning for another week.
Marcus
Mariota (TEN) (31%)
On the Radar:
Josh Rosen (ARZ) (4%)
Case Keenum (DEN) (17%)
Lamar Jackson (BAL) (8%)
Running Backs:
The coming out party for the Seahawks rookie Rashaad
Penny was on display against the Rams last week showing he is more than capable
to handle a heavier workload. Penny should be the top waiver addition for
running backs this week but does come with some speculation. The Hawks will continue
to use a RBBC approach utilizing the hot hand in attempts to steal games. The
great positive is that Seattle will not move away from the run game this season
as they employ a scheme that runs over 50% offensively, to which is most in the
NFL. It may be difficult to trust starting him weekly, but holding him on the
bench for depth purposes could be valuable.
Josh
Adams (PHI) (14%)
Jaylen
Samules (PIT) (1%)
Straight speculative addition for the week belongs to
the Steelers rookie Jaylen Samules. It’s clear that LeVeon Bell has no ambition
to return to the field this season, leaving James Conner to continue his dominating
performance with Samules to have mop-up duties. Again, hearing another Coach (this
time Mike Tomlin) throw encouraging words to his young back suggesting the
arrow is pointing up for Jaylen, he value lifts as more than just a radar
player. His top end value will be held more as a handcuff rather than a start, but
could get some solid work down the stretch with an easier schedule coming for
the Steelers. Deeper leagues this pickup has far more appeal with James Conner
in concussion protocol.
On the Radar:
Giovani Bernard (CIN) (25%)
Theo Riddick (DET) (12%)
Spencer Ware (KC) (8%)
Javorius
Allen (BAL) (33%)
Alfred Blue (HOU) (4%)
Wide Receivers:
Josh
Reynolds (LAR) (4%)
The best potential addition off the wire at receiver
this week and perhaps for the remainder of the season belongs to the Rams Josh
Reynolds now that Cooper Kupp has torn his ACL. The Rams offense remains high
powered and inserting Reynolds shouldn’t pose much concern. Josh had fill-in duties
a couple weeks ago when Kupp initially hurt his knee and performed admirably in
the process. Spreading the ball around to their slew of talented tight-ends
might see an uptick as well now that Kupp is done for the year, but the amount
of three-wide sets the Rams use, Josh has fantastic flex appeal moving forward.
He could be the missing link to a championship run for your fantasy squad.
Anthony
Miller (CHI) (15%)
We can no longer ignore the Bears superb rookie
receiver Anthony Miller any longer. Our offseason elevation of the dynamic
rookie was gleaming, but did have an asterisk attached due in part to the
amount of usage he would receive. Miller now looks to have solidified himself
as the number two option in the receiver room and shouldn’t give his spot away
for the rest of the season. Coach Nagy has done a masterful job getting
Mitchell Trubisky to play to his potential making Miller and company hold great
value for fantasy production. At this point holding Miller with matchup start
appeal is the way to go with greater potential in seeing him make a difference
each and every game. If you miss out on Josh Reynolds, Miller is the man to
target.
Nelson
Agholor (PHI) (45%)
While we can’t stress this point enough, the Eagles
run attack is in utter shambles and hasn’t proven anything to promote the
possibility of change. Nelson Agholor once again could have value and appeal
moving forward even with Golden Tate on the roster. Philadelphia will have to
re-create the run game with short routes and completions to Agholor and Tate in
hopes to draw coverage closer to the line to expose the backend. Matchup appeal
is higher than weekly starts moving forward, but with only a 45% ownership
stake, Nelson is a good pickup this week.
It was clear that without their super-star AJ Green on
the field, the Bengals offense was anemic to say the least. It was surprising
to us to see Andy Dalton struggle as much as he did, but finding Ross in the
endzone did provide some inspiration. While we aren’t great supporters of Ross
in this offense just yet, the Bengals should be forced to at least provide more
target share now that Tyler Boyd essentially became invisible facing greater
coverage. There is boom or bust with anything attached to John Ross at the
moment, but if you’re stuck, he could add some value.
On the Radar:
Maurice Harris (WAS) (36%)
Keke Coutee (HOU) (20%)
Tre’Quan Smith (NO) (32%)
Willie Snead (BAL) (29%)
Josh Doctson (WAS) (10%)
Donte
Moncrief (JAX) (11%)
Tight-Ends:
As the Titans look to be figuring out how to exploit
their weapons adequately, their tight-end Jonnu Smith is becoming a hot
commodity off the wire this week. Finding the endzone in each of his last two
contests, it’s clear that Mariota is looking for the mismatch in the redzone
and finding good success. The tight-end position has been a disaster this
season for most clubs as spread formations have all but killed the position.
Even still, in times where finding anything productive from the position will
be valuable moving forward, Smith could be your man with good matchups upcoming.
Tyler
Higbee (LAR) (0%)
Now that Cooper Kupp is forced into the medical room
for the remainder of the season, Tyler Higbee instantly has some level of value
especially in good matchups. It was clear that Coach McVay targeted his
tight-ends far more than any other contest last week in hopes to create production
with Kupp removed from the contest. The issue with Higbee is that the Rams also
employ Gerald Everett and he holds a very similar skillset. Higbee is higher on
the depth chart and should get first crack at production moving forward. Still
a difficult play on a weekly basis, he could be a player to target.
Jordan
Thomas (HOU) (3%)
The Texans coming off the bye week will undoubtedly
have made efforts to involve their rising talented tight-end into the offensive
game plan. With DeAndre Hopkins and Demaryius Thomas now pulling all the
coverage to their sides, Jordan Thomas will have higher value especially in the
redzone as seen from his last two games. Thomas may not see much of the target
share in regular situations, but he has great value for touchdowns in what is
again becoming a high-flying offense.
On the Radar:
Ricky Seals-Jones (ARZ) (18%)
Gerald Everett (LAR) (1%)
Dallas Goedert (PHI) (6%)
Best Week 11 Defensive Streams:
Baltimore Ravens (56%) vs. Cincinnati Bengals
Pittsburgh Steelers (56%) @ Jacksonville Jaguars
Arizona Cardinals (19%) vs. Oakland Raiders
Cincinnati Bengals (10%) @ Baltimore Ravens
